BE ALERT…

We are noticing an increase in suspicious activity in the North of the county, particularly in the Winwick, Croft and Risley areas in locations where horses are stabled. Today alone our we have had two further reports of unknown persons loitering near farms, livery yards and stables. On two occasions gates have been deliberately opened allowing horses to escape placing them at risk of injury.

We are also aware of an increase in tack/equipment thefts at various locations in recent weeks. This afternoon our northern officer has been out visiting various locations to engage with riders/landowners to ensure that measures are put in place to increase security and encourage the horse-riding community to spread the word and be vigilant.

We are urging you to take extra measures to secure tack rooms, mark equipment and ensure that gates are locked of a night and fences are maintained and in a good state of repair.

More importantly we need you to report any suspicious activity to us. You can do this by:

WINTER LAMINITIS !!!!

I know you may all be thinking, 'the Winter is here, we can now relax a bit when it comes to our horses turnout. '...... Sorry to break it to you.... you can't. ..... .....

As the weather gets colder, the grass has more sugar.... great for horses turned out 24/7 with no rugs on thatarewalkingaboutall day gett thei steps in and using the extr sugars for energy to keep warm, - they need it... not good for horses that are rugged up and come in after a few hours to stand still in a warm stable...

Days are shorter - horses stand still longer..

Most horses get less work in the Winter...

A lot of horses are over rugged....

And finally...

A lot of owners continue to feed the same.....

💥 Winter is on it’s way 💥

The lovely Bee and Luna enjoying their Equissage session. Bee who has been suffering recently with her arthritis, had a session with both the pad, hand unit and leg boot. I was extremely happy to hear that the day after treatment, Bee was back feeling amazing in her self and enjoyed her first hack out in weeks 💕🐝

Last weekend I had a rare couple of days booked off. We headed off to the Petplan area festivals at Port Royal, with my own Lynbrie Razy Dazy aka Mr Louie Welsh. We are now area festival winners of the Novice Freestyle class. We will be heading down to the Petplan national finals in October, along with my sister and her pony Rhodbri William 🐴
