Something I've been avoiding for such a long time but perhaps it's for the best.

I am devastated and heartbroken. 💔 But I'd love to enjoy the last moment of this business and pack your orders etc.

After seeing so many videos (Especially on Tik Tok) of animal neglect and cruelty (majority are children/teens). I thought I would address the issue, share my experience and opinion.

One of the most common reasons why pets end up in shelters is 'oh my child got bored of it and I do not have time to take care of it'

In my opinion, parents shouldn't rely on their children to take care of another living creature, especially if they cannot even take care of themselves.

For example, when I was 15 I really wanted a guinea pig, I was bragging to my parents about it all the time and my parents always refused. A year later, when I matured and made my research (using unreliable sources which I later realised and improved on). I have spoken to my parents and started a part-time job (this was my own decision & intention) so that I could afford to get a guinea pig and ensure that they have the best life ever.

Obviously, as a teen, I made mistakes (nothing severe) but I managed to learn and fix all of my mistakes, and in a matter of a month after making a ton of research I went from a single piggie in a small pet store cage, to a pair and 2x4 c&c cage.

So, from my personal experience, pets are certainly not an easy task for children and teens, and require research, discipline, responsibility, and love. Something that a child is often unable to provide.

Pet is not a toy that you can throw away when you get bored of it.

Please Please Please, reduce the amount of abandoned, neglected, and abused animals. Educate the young generation and do not get pets for them (unless you are willing to take care of them, and want a pet yourself). Wait until they grow older, encourage them to make research, and question them how THEY are going to afford it.

Introducing the RAINBOW collection 🌈

This collection has been made in memory of pets that have crossed the rainbow bridge.

Losing our loved ones can be extremely painful and during such sad times, we often look for the light of positivity. One of the best ways to cope with pet loss is by celebrating a well-lived life and welcoming another by helping animals live a life free from cruelty and neglect.

You can do this by purchasing anything from our rainbow collection and 70% of the sales from this collection will be donated to the amazing small animal rescue .

A bit of background on Hannah...
She owns a private rescue and has helped hundreds of small animals from rabbits to hamsters since 2018.

She is an absolute angel and saved lifes of sooo many pets and deserves our support and recognition.

I have supported Hannah for a while, making private donations and participating in and conducting raffles to raise some money for her.

Did you know that hundreds of guinea pigs die from heat stroke every year?

Their little bodies struggle to cope with the heat and rely on their owners for help.

Here are 7 ways you can keep your guinea pigs cool this summer...

🧡1. Provide cool, fresh water at all times - make sure you change their water at least once a day and keep it away from direct sunlight!

🧡2. Only let them out to lawn before 9am & after 8pm, any other times will be too got for them.

🧡3. Use a fan, ice blocks and frozen bottles covered with socks/specially designed covers.

🧡4. Give long-haired piggies a hair trim.

🧡5. Did you know that Hutches in direct sunlight are 20c hotter than the temperature outside? If your guinea is outside in a hutch, move the hutch to a sheltered, cooler area, or even better move them indoors in a well-ventilated cage.

🧡6. Swap plastic & fleece hides for wooden - plastic heats up a lot quicker and its best to use wooden hides with multiple exits for ventilation in the summer

🧡7. Give vegetables throughout the day - break their meal into 4/5 small meals that you can give throughout the day

Small animals such as guinea pigs, rabbits, and hamsters’ teeth are constantly growing and therefore need to be trimmed. You can avoid overgrowing by…
🧡Providing a healthy diet – For example, rabbits and guinea pigs require an unlimited amount of hay at all times! Hay is the most important part of their diet, it’s full of fibre and vitamins and long stalks do a perfect job at trimming their teeth! Furthermore, if you cut your veg in big pieces and allow your pet to chew & ensure that they have good quality nuggets that are made of hay (not muesli) is extremely important for their teeth and overall health!!!

Similarly, hamsters should have a verity of seeds and protein such as dried chicken or mealworms in their diet to keep their teeth trimmed!
🧡Providing dehydrated treats – Dehydrated treats such as our oat cookies, dried cucumber, carrot and pea flakes are not just tasty and help you to form a good bond with you pet but the hard texture will also benefit their teeth!
🧡Providing plenty of chews – variety of natural chews made of willow, seagrass, banana leaf, palm leaf, natural wood and vine are perfect for trimming your small animals teeth and it’s highly recommended to have at least 3 chews in your pets enclosure at all time!
🧡Conducting regular health checks - will help to determine any early signs of overgrowth and dental health issues.

Save so you don’t forget! ❗️🧡Snuffle Balls & Mats – Hide food inside and let them use their noses to find them! Sniffing will reduce stress, improve focus, keep them occupied & most importantly is extremely fun! 🧡Dig-box - Digging is a natural behaviour and dogs absolutely love it! Simply fill a pool with dirt/sand & bury some of their favourite toys & treats to encourage them to use their nose to find it! Alternatively, fill a cardboard box with scrunched up paper & hide their nibbles there. 🧡Chews - Chewing is a natural behaviour and many dogs absolutely love destroying things! That’s why it’s extremely important that you have plenty of chews for them! Natural chews such as beef gullet (to be released on 13th) are not just delicious but also extremely good for their teeth! Also, rubber chew toys are AMAZING! The Grrrelli Rubber treat ball is my dogs favourite (coming on 13th!!!!), it’s made of quality long-lasting rubber with a bobbly outer that massages gums while helping to clean teeth. You can also fill it with treats/peanut butter and get them to use their tongue which will keep them physically & mentally stimulated! 🧡Sniffy times – On walks, DON’T RUSH and allow your dog plenty of opportunity and time to sniff. 🧡Licking mat - Repetitive licking can have a calming effect for dogs that suffer from anxiety. The release of endorphins caused by the action of licking helps them to relax.🧡Visit a new place - Living the same life every day without any changes seems boring right? That means it's time to bring some change and visit a new place to allow them to explore new environments and smells! 🧡Hide and Seek –Hide our delicious peanut butter dog treats around the house and encourage them to find them using their nose!🧡Tug of War - Promotes impulse control, builds confidence, and strengthens the bond🧡Ball Pitt – Similar to dig boxes, simply hide their favourite treats inside and let your dog dig for them! 🧡Walking and socialising – Walking provides great physical and mental stimulation but also allows them to socialise with other dogsWhat is your dog's favourite type of enrichment? 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

Improves overall health – enrichment doesn’t only keep your pet physically fit by encouraging movement, but it also keeps them mentally engages (something that you cannot accomplish by providing basic and minimum needs).
Improves your bond – enrichment activities can help and encourage your pet to bond with you. How? By you spending quality time and interacting with your animal!

As we are all aware, the secret to the hearts and trust of our pets is food, in particular, their favourite treats that they get so rarely. Eating the same food every day must be very tiring for them.

Therefore, treat time is probably their favourite time of the day! However, you really need to get those little brains working and food is one of the best ways to achieve that. For example, snuffle mats, are great for your pet’s mental stimulation, all you have to do is hide the treats in the mat and make your pet look for them. This does not only encourage natural behaviour, improves your bond with them but also gets them thinking and that’s exactly what you want to accomplish!
Reduces stress – Mental stimulation will distract your pet from stress triggers such as separation, moving homes, fireworks, storms etc.
Improves pet’s behaviour - similar to us humans, our pets need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. Let me tell you why. Often pet owners forget about mental stimulation, which is just as vital as physical exercises, especially if you are away at work/studying most of the time. You need to make sure your pet stays busy because we all know how miss behaved, they can get when they get bored! Oh Boy! Therefore, by providing enrichment you can reduce boredom related behaviour problems such as unwanted chewing of furniture, cage bars etc. A pet that is mentally stimulated is more likely to participate in healthy activities when left alone, such as sleeping, playing with toys etc rather than being naughty!

🧡Balanced diet - Guinea pig’s diet should consist of unlimited hay, water,a cup of vegetables, and 1-2 tbsp of good quality dry food each.

Healthy pig = Happy pig.

🧡Companionship - Guinea pigs are social animals and need a companion of their own & no amount of human attention & affection will ever replace companionship and communication with their own species.

🧡Mental & Physical Stimulation - Guinea pigs are pretty smart little creatures. It's so important to make sure they have plenty of space & plenty of toys that can stimulate their brains and get them to use their unique senses to keep them occupied and happy!

Snuffle balls, forage bags, or something as simple as sprinkling forage, cookies, dried veg & fruits on hay will encourage them to search for their food which will keep them occupied for hours, and in the end, they will get a healthy treat for it too! They’ll absolutely love it!

🧡Chew toys - Guinea pigs' teeth never stop growing & it's important to make sure that they have plenty of chews, preferably of different textures, for them to nibble on and trim their teeth naturally.

Lack of toys may lead to your guinea pig chewing on cage bars, correx
and even furniture which can be extremely damaging to their teeth and may cost you a fortune to replace!!

So I would highly recommend having at least 3 chew toys (even if your guineas are not chewers) in their cage at all times!

🧡Regular health checks & nail trims -Guinea pigs are prey animals and often hide their illnesses. Fast and extreme weight loss is one of the first signs of an illness, which they cannot hide. Recognising such change & taking them to a vet may even save their life!

Overgrown nails can cause loads of discomfort & even hurt them so it's recommended to trim their nails every 2-3 weeks!

🧡Suitable enclosure - Guinea pigs need plenty of space for physical health & plenty of hideys because as prey animals they love hiding!

I have decided to move and take a gap year from university to focus on myself and this business. The past year has been mentally, physically, and financially difficult for me. I felt like couldn’t reach my full potential.
I was unhappy and didn’t understand why. This business (and you) was the only reason for my smile. I love every bit of it. It kept me going.
After encountering amazing entrepreneurs such as I’ve finally realized that I just need to overcome my fears and ever since all I’ve been questioning ‘what the hell I want to do with my life, where do I want to be, and what do I enjoy?’.
And therefore, I have made the decision, to give my best and work my butt off to make this business work because I love it. It’s my dream and I am finally ready to open up my mind and start from a new page, with a new me that doesn’t care about the judgment of others. I am finally open to new ideas, and new achievements.
I want to thank every single one of you, my supporters who believe in me, and love my business and my products. It means the world to me. Your words, posts, videos, reviews, orders, and engagement kept me going. You lot believed in me when no one else had and I am forever grateful.
It’s extremely difficult to ignore negative comments (especially from loved ones). I allowed these comments to take over me. I started to believe every single one of them and began to doubt myself and got fixated on a limited mindset. But I will no longer let this happen because I BELIEVE IN MYSELF. I can, and I will make my dream come true which is to help animals and educate pet owners I am hoping that together, we will put an end to the unsafe, unethical, and unreliable pet shops for good, and thank you for being here for me, following and supporting me through my journey.
Due to the process of moving there has been a few delays with reopen and new launch. But I am super excited to finally release over 20 new products on 13th!!!
