The live wire that is ‘Edris’ arrived on 3rd November from Goole weighing 295g

We presume she is Gertie’s sibling who arrived 2 days before

Edris has ringworm, lungworm and roundworm and is still very chesty. She was so poorly and took about a week to stabilise her

Let’s hope the weight gains continue

Huge thanks to Vera for rescuing her and Lizzie for transporting her

Many thanks to for sponsoring hedgehog unit 18

Absolutely bloody gutted is an understatement , sorry to say poor Charlie has passed away 💔

Honestly I pulled out all the stops on this girl and tried everything I could and am so gutted, Ruth

RIP Charlie, at the very least I know you were warm, comfortable and pain free 💗

Poor ‘Charlie’ arrived yesterday teatime weighing 337g … she should be double this weight easy

She was found on the A1079 when superhero Nigel stopped and rescued her, massive thank you to you!

She was so dehydrated and freezing cold on arrival, 24 hours on she is still with us, just and is now in the incubator

She is so poorly with fluke, lungworm and a very high burden of roundworm, it just makes you wonder how long she has been ill 😥

She is receiving all the tlc and treatment we can give her and has now been promoted to the dining table in the house!!! 🤫

Sadly only time will tell but she is warm and comfortable

Thank you to Nigel & Julie for rescuing and delivering her

Many thanks to Loraine & John Gibson for sponsoring Charlie’s Hedgehog Unit

‘Cam’ 258g arrived on Saturday dinner time when he was found at Market Weighton Tennis Club

Swift action from Dave & Angie and he was soon on his way to us. The poor guy was freezing cold, wobbly, dehydrated and lots of fleas aboard

He was warmed up and given subcutaneously fluids and flea treatment, it took a while to stabilise him. Any longer and we probably wouldn’t have been able to bring him back round

A lovely 💩 sample showed Cam has fluke, lungworm and a high burden of roundworm. Fluids continued as he was so dehydrated, then treatment begun. Glad to say he has had weight gains the last 3 days and seems to be a lot happier

This was a very close call

Thanks to Dave for rescuing him and to Angie for delivering him

Many thanks to Cam’s Sponsor Dave & Karen Berry

‘Jonny’ 292g arrived on 23rd October one of those do you don’t you rescue situations

He was found on the driveway late at night but not responding and didn’t look right

Thank goodness we decided the rescue was the best option as when Jonny arrived at 11pm it was clear he was unwell, what a pair we looked one in a bugs bunny onesie and the other in Snoopy pyjamas, good job it was dark 😂

the 💩 check the next morning showed lungworm and roundworm!!

He’s now finished his treatment and is weighing in at 500g, sadly still too small for release

Thank you to Carris for rescuing & delivering him

Many thanks to Hugo Murphy for sponsoring Jonny’s hedgehog unit

‘Lou Lou’ 232g arrived on 22nd October from the vets

On arrival the poor girl was covered in flystrike and live maggots trying to eat her alive

This was all removed, then she was warmed up and given sub cut fluids. 💩 checks the next day confirmed she was suffering from lungworm, roundworm and fluke and must have been feeling terrible 😞

She is now half way through her treatment and doing very well, just amazing considering the state she came to us in

Thanks to Debbie and Megan for delivering her

It was very clear on arrival that she had ringworm, poo checks confirmed she has lungworm, fluke and a high burden of roundworm. I lot going on for this poor girl but she is holding her own at the moment

It wasn’t many days until Gertie’s sibling Edris arrived …

Little ‘Fudge’ 179g arrived on 1st November where she was found in a dogs mouth!!!!

It took her a couple of days to come round think she was in shock! No injuries were found from the dog but she’s been very under the weather due to having lungworm and a high burden of roundworm

Her medication seems to be working and she is now 231g 👏🏻 here’s hoping she continues to improve

Thank you to Lindsey for rescuing and delivering her from Gilberdyke

Many thanks to Rowena for sponsoring Fudge’s hedgehog unit

We are looking for sponsors for our hedgehog rehab units! One sponsor per pen. It is £25 for 6 months to sponsor a unit. Sponsors get a plaque on their enclosure and everytime we do a post online involving the hog from that unit, we tag the sponsor. Great opportunity for businesses too!
You can also sponsor personally or in memory or as a gift.
Get in touch if you are interested in being a rehab unit sponsor
