Well who would have thought it … we made BBC Look North evening news yesterday with one of our resident hogs ‘Peter Levy’ 🦔❤️ #bbclooknorth
Little Sami just would not eat anything and I mean anything … then she discovered scrambled egg!! If in doubt scrambled egg seems to work!!
This got her appetite going and then she decided she liked proper food!!!

We don’t very often post anything graphic but we have had 2 horrific injuries in 2 days … to STRIMMER INJURIES … this has caused this poor innocent hedgehog to lose her life 😢 both injured hogs were found very, very close to the rescue so someone just a stones throw away is the culprit!
We need to spread the word and show people exactly what happens if you don’t take a few minutes to check before strimming!! It IS completely avoidable and for a species in so much trouble we should be prioritising their need to exist and thrive over our need to have neat, tidy gardens and verges 💜
Straight to the vets for help for this girl, there is just no way that this injury could be repaired, the injury goes straight across the nasal passages, exposing them. The pain this girl must have been in is just terrible 😞 she was euthanised at the vets, there was no other option 💔
Ask yourself do you really need to Strim?? Hopefully this will put you off!! If not, why not??
Our one wish … that these horrible machines are banned!!!

He was cold and dehydrated on arrival with nasty bloody 💩 never a good sign!
He was warmed up and had subcutaneous fluids before starting his treatment for lungworm and roundworm
