‘Just in .. ‘Sam’ 320g found wandering around by Dani the post lady whilst on her rounds

He’s underweight and had some massive ticks, we will now await a 💩 sample to check for internal parasites

‘Dave’ arrived last Monday weighing 450g but should weigh so much more than that, he was so thin and absolutely exhausted he could hardly walk 😢

He was given sub cut fluids to rehydrate him and then thankfully after some time he started eating. He’s got lungworm and roundworm, hopefully his medication has made him feel much better … he’s gained over 100g in a week 🥳

Another arrival from yesterday ‘Ivy’ 350g out most of the day yesterday

Lots of tiny ticks 😬 she also has lungworm and roundworm and is not feeling fabulous. She lost weight overnight but hopefully will be feeling brighter soon with the right medication

Yesterday saw the arrival of ‘Zac’ 262g found out in the day at HOSM park

Thankfully Tammy, Freya, Iris & Zac knew this was not ok and contacted us. They brought him in and 💩 checks have shown he has lungworm and roundworm, sub cut fluids were also needed on arrival as he was dehydrated

This little cutie arrived yesterday teatime … ‘Nelle’ only 150g

She was found out in the day alone, she’s had a good night and gained weight 👏🏻

So far no internal parasites have been found but this can soon change, we will keep 💩 checking!!

The absolute miracle that is ‘Poppy’ 197g

She arrived on 21st July not happy at all 😢 She spent 4 days quacking, this is a distress call, trust me if you’ve heard it you know it’s terrible!!

She was losing weight, having syringe feeds, on pain relief, no internal parasites could be found. We honestly thought a trip to the vets was on the cards as she could not carry on like this … then suddenly all quiet & she started eating by herself, thank goodness

Then a week after she arrived we found the roundworm eggs in her 💩 was roundworm the culprit? We will never know but she is doing great up to now

We got a call on Thursday to see if we had space for a little one, he’d been to a vets & they said ok to release after a dose of antibiotics 🤦🏻‍♀️
Thank goodness Adele called us, Phil was frantic, climbing the walls, absolutely starving!! He’s doing well and gaining weight … what more could we ask for, it could have been such a different story for this little chap

‘Blue’ 98g was found in the middle of the road!!! Ellie’s daughter quickly scooped her up and alerted her mum, no other hoglets or mum were seen

She had fleas, ticks and the dreaded flystrike. No injuries or internal parasites have been found and she’s already doubled her weight!!

‘Chestnut’ 118g arrived from the mushroom farm on 14th July, yes in a pan!!! Sometimes needs must!!!

She’s having an up & down ride & only weighs 3g more than when she arrived

We can’t find any internal parasites & no obvious signs of anything wrong. She’s had some syringe feeds to top her up & had to weight gains in the last couple of days … a tricky patient!!

Ideally to help with cleaning cages, feeding and weighing our recuperating hogs. No experience is needed as training will be given.

Both girls had ringworm on arrival but are now looking much better & are quite a bit larger than they were!!
