AAFCO PUSHING BEHIND THE SCENES FOR LEGAL CONTROL OF THE PET FOOD SECTOR...
Heads up, anybody that cares about their pet's health. AAFCO and the FDA in the US are making changes behind the scenes to make ultra-processed pet food (made to minimum nutritional standards) MANDATORY for vets to recommend on the basis of POTENTIAL bacterial threat to the public.
This is despite all the evidence to the contrary:
On health: dry food is more inflammatory and leads to more skin ear and gut conditions in dogs, the top 3 reasons for visiting the vet today.
On safety: we know dry food accounts for 98% (by volume) of the US pet food recalls for actual hazardous pathogens despite being only 59% of the US pet food market.
We know "healthy" dry-fed dogs have more E.coli (both in species and abundance) in their guts and around their bums and we know know that far more people get infected from dry than raw.
And this is before we discuss the horrific death toll kibble has exerted on our pets over multiple instances.
It turns out, despite all the crap out of the petfood and veterinary industries, despite all the "science", fresh food wasn't dangerous at all. It's actually extremely beneficial... just not to their bottom line.
Minutes of the secret meeting reveal AAFCO, a private group of pet food manufacturers NOT elected officials or even vets, show they have been colluding with regulators to force the new laws through the veterinary industry, including vets are NOT PERMITTED to sell OR recommend fresh food for pets. They are controlling their speech online. Any vets speaking against the new laws can have their vet clinics and homes raided and license to practice removed, all in the name of safety...
