Gosh it is soo very cold,please still leave food and water for the hogs,not all hogs will be in hibernation.
With the ground so hard with the frosts ,and such low tempertures they will not be able to dig to forage themselves for food,so we must support them.
Any little ones are so going to struggle with not enough fat on them and will be very cold for them to be out in this extreme coldness.
The lucky ones that are found will be snug and warm in rescues,sadly for so many they won't be.
So any concerns seeing very small hogs out please call a rescue for advise.

Meet 3 legged Eve, spotted on NYE and brought to us to check over by our amazing supporers and friends, Bryan and Deborah. On close inspection, we concluded that it's highly probable she was born this way as she had no signs of injury, her stump was perfect with no exposed bone as initially feared. 🙏

She was sent back to be set free again! 😍💜🦔

Happy New Year to all of our volunteers and supporters, or rather, Happy 'Hog'manay 💜🦔🥂 You have all contributed to last years success rates and got us through a very tough year!

We admitted a whopping total of 721 hedgehogs in 2024

80% of hedgehogs were successfully released!

We've had 218 more admissions than 2023 (a 43% increase!)

The crunchiest most chocolatiest story.....
The lovely Rachel Fleming donated a vivarium 💜👌 which we thought might come in very handy for sick little ones (hedgehogs)....🤔 Think again....there was a baby tortoise...purchased with all love and good intentions, except...when an established older, larger pet tortoise had amorous plans...🤔🤣

Hence why, Crunchie is our new constant 😃🐢💜

PS We pay and provide Crunchies comforts totally separately from our hedgehogs!! 💜🧑‍🎄
