We are over the moon with this beautiful, long legged filly by the exceptional Zangersheide stallion, Dourkhan Hero.

She has finally arrived at 348 days at the very sociable hour of 3.30pm.

She is the second filly born this season out of our super young mare by Kannan. Her Grand dam is the exceptional breeding mare Larthago, who is the mother of the Grand Prix show jumpers, Harley VDL, Cevin Z, Casago, Hopes Are High and Soren Z, as well as many other International horses.

Her dam is by Kannan x E star x Carthago and she descends from the famous Larthago dam line.

Not only is El Torreo de Muze, the top rated future stallion, he competes at grand prix level and descends from an exceptionally strong line from both Dam and Sire.

We have a very special yearling c**t by El Torreo de Muze. His dam is by the great Cicero Z and she also comes from one of the very best Dam lines in the world.

Her great Grand dam is the phenomenal mare, Carthina Z. Her Grand dam is the grand prix mare Ilusionata van't Meulenhof, who is a sister of Emerald van't Ruytershof, Nixon van't Meulenhof and Diamanthina van't Ruytershof, amongst others, and she is also the mother to the grand prix mare L'esmeralda van't Meulenhof.

Although only a yearling, our super c**t shows all the qualities to make a top Grand Prix horse of the future 🥇

Longfields Stud is a private, family run Show Jumping and breeding stables located in Standon, Staffordshire.

We are dedicated to breeding and producing horses for the top level of the sport, using only the very best bloodlines in the world.

We are looking for an experienced rider/groom to back and produce our homebred horses. There are plenty of opportunities to compete and progress for a talented and ambitious rider.

The successful candidate will need to have a significant amount of experience producing intelligent young horses and be capable of backing and training big, sensitive and powerful youngsters.

We are looking for a confident, yet calm rider with plenty of Show Jumping experience, who takes a kind approach to training. Good flat work is essential.

We require a dedicated, self motivated individual who is capable and willing to take sole charge when required.

The job will include

🔸️Backing our homebred horses.
🔸️Introducing them to their first jumps.
🔸️Taking them schooling away from home.
🔸️Taking them to their first BS competitions.
🔸️Training and Competing them up through the levels.
🔸️Yard duties.

The position is suited to a hard working and experienced individual, where our horses welfare is the main priority. Someone with a positive attitude and who is willing to muck in with all aspects of horse care and yard work.

We have excellent facilities, which include indoor barn stabling, young stock barns, indoor and outdoor arenas and a horse walker.

BACK TO BLACK BY DIARADO & DAM SINDERELLA

It's fantastic to see another one of our super homebreds excelling in the world of Eventing.

We are extremely proud of Charlie, who is by Diarado out of our special mare Sinderella.

In his first BE season with international event rider Holly Bradshaw, he has already progressed to Novice and he is looking very impressive.

We are very excited to see what the future holds for him.

🌟 DOURKHAN HERO x KANNAN x E STAR 🌟

Our second foal due in 2023 is by the exceptional young stallion, Dourkhan Hero.

He took the silver medal last weekend in the 7yr olds at Lanaken, in the World Breeding Championships for young horses.

The mother is our mare by Kannan x E Star x Carthago, out of the Larthago dam line.
She is also expecting a foal by Pegase van't Ruytershof next year.

We are delighted to have a foal due in 2023 by the exceptionally talented young stallion, Pegase van't Ruytershof. As well as being a son of the famous stallion Comme Il Faut, he comes from a very strong dam line.

The mother is our super mare by Kannan x E Star x Carthago.

Her Grandmother Larthago won 27 International jumping competitions and she is the mother of 6 approved stallions. Harley VDL, Cevin Z, Casago 1, Casago 2, Soren Z and Dimitri Z. 11 of her offspring have competed at 1.40m and above.

Her daughters have also produced 4 approved stallions and between Larthago herself and her offspring, they have produced 20 international jumping horses.

Our 3yr old filly by Cicero, who is the mother of our exceptional 2022 foal by El Torreo de Muze, is the sister of the fantastic foal who sold for the highest price at Foal Auction 111 yesterday.

The filly sold for 43.000 euros!

They come from one of the best mother lines in Belgium.

New record for Foal Auction 111!

With a higher average selling price and a new all time high sale price for one of our foals, our auction was a great success.

The evening started of well, with the sale of a Conthargos frozen embryo for our charity “Hart voor Marthe”. JV Horses ended up the buyer: thank you Jan!

We managed to sell 27 of the 29 foals and embryo’s presented which ended up in an average selling price of over euro 15.000 euro, a new high for our auction!

The top selling foal was the filly Eldoria van ‘t Gebergte (Eldorado x Diamant) which after a long bidding battle was sold for 43.000 to a buyer in France. The second most expensive foal was Gloria de Jolie Z (Gin Flip x Nabab), which was sold for 31.000 euro to a buyer in Belgium.

Herewith we like to thank our breeders and buyers for the trust in our organisation, as well as everybody who contributed to this successful evening. We look forward to our next edition!

HOW MUCH FOR A FOAL?

Let me say a few words to you, yes you, the person who sends a text to just ask for the price. The person who calls and hears the price and says “I can buy a cheaper foal somewhere else”. I'll talk to you too; the person who doesn't care about papers because I want “just a pet or a happy hacker”. No foal is “just a pet and a happy hacker”.

Behind every foal is a BREEDER. A serious breeder does not breed foals without documents that protect the integrity of the breed. Registration papers are records of ancestry documenting the bloodline and enabling you to investigate possible health problems in your lineage.

When you tell a breeder you don't care about the papers, just tell them you don't care about the foal’s health, you just want the cheapest thing you can find! If you choose to buy a foal from a reputable and quality breeder, this breeder is responsible for every foal’s health.

This breeder will skip holidays, and family gatherings , miss sleep for weeks on end, and most of their personal time is dedicated to their horses and their well being. The truly passionate breeder, who loves what they breed, puts all of their time into it. Not only for foals that are sold, but also for every customer who owns a piece of their heart and is now a member of their large family. Breeders worry about their babies after leaving and want the best outcome for purchaser and foal.

A breeder will get his hands dirty, often covered in everything that comes with birth. Because that's what life is all about... in the midst of birth and death is life. For every foal that is sold there are ones that don’t make it and a little bit of the breeders heart breaks along with the foal. A breeder conducts ultrasounds, analytics, emergency vet calls, vaccinations, registrations, researches pedigrees, deworming, hoof trims and provides the base start for the future of the foal.

Last but not least, a breeder CHOOSES the family who is lucky enough to have one of their foals. Yes, you read correctly. A real breeder chooses who they sell to.

There really is no compensation that can offset the investment a breeder has made.
A good breeder has other criteria for those who want to continue their bloodline, why? Because breeding isn't a responsibility to take lightly, it's a lifestyle choice reserved ONLY for the few devoted people willing to sacrifice.

Since a foal is never “just a pet” he/she is the legacy of the breeder, a low level eventer, an amateur show jumper, a career broodmare, the pony that wins for your son or daughter, a member of the family, someone's whole world!

We are delighted to introduce this handsome c**t by El Torreo de Muze.

He is from a very special dam line. His great Grand dam is the incredible grand prix mare, Ilusionata van't Meulenhof, who's riders include William Whitaker and Niels Bruynseels. She has also produced a 1.50m mare herself.

Ilusionata is a sister of the phenomenal stallions, Emerald van't Ruytershof and Nixon van't Meulenhof. Their mother Carthina Z has also produced the exceptional jumping and breeding mare, Diamanthina van't Ruytershof amongst several other International show jumpers.

What an amazing achievement for Christian Kukuk and Mumbai at the European Championships.

They took silver medal in the team competition on Friday and today finished in 4th position individually.

Mumbai is only 9 years of age and he was the highest placed stallion of the championships.

We are unbelievably excited about the future of our 2021 c**t pictured below, who is by this extraordinary stallion! 🥈🏆🍾

The incredible stallion Mumbai and his rider Christian Kukuk have been selected for the Tokyo Olympics 🥳

Mumbai is the sire of our super young c**t who also has a very special dam line (Kannan x E star x Carthago) His mother's Grand dam is Larthago who competed herself to 1.50m level and proved herself to be one of the very best breeding mares. She produced 9 international sport horses including Harley VDL, Cevin Z and Casago.

We are extremely proud to introduce Longfields High Life, a very special filly by O***m JW van de Moerhoeve.

Her mother is by the Olympic stallion Cumano and she is the sister of two 1.50m International show jumpers, Accent Z by Air Jordan and the KWPN licenced stallion Extase who is by Casall. She is also the sister to the top mare, Hosanne ES by Kannan, who already competes at 1.45m level at only nine years of age and has produced the licensed stallion Mindset ES.

Their mother is a sister of the Olympic stallion, Plot Blue and grand prix stallion Oklund. She also has three sisters who have produced grand prix show jumpers, which include the phenomenal mare Babylotte, and stallions Elton John and Dakar TN.

We can't wait to see what the future holds for this one 😍

We all know that breeding is not for the faint hearted and we have certainly had the most stressful and worrying couple of weeks.
After delivering a gorgeous, healthy Mumbai foal it became clear that our beautiful mare Ella was becoming increasingly unwell.
She was rushed to vets where it was discovered that she had suffered an internal tear and developed peritonitis.
After a long stay at the hospital, we are incredibly relieved and grateful to have them both back home to continue with her recovery.
This is their first trip out to the paddock and I think it's safe to say that they are pleased to be home 🥰

It's very sad to hear of the passing of Heartbreaker at the grand old age of 32.
We were very fortunate to meet him in 2020 before the covid restrictions were put in place.

He has had a huge impact on Show jumping breeding. A true legend of the sport ❤
