DogsPaws Behavioural Training Staffordshire Bull Terrier Specialist. Many years ago, I met my now husband. I got to know and love these dogs as my own.

My dog training ethos involves using my head; science-based methods and knowledge and my heart; using kindness, love and ethical ways to help your dog progress and be happy. Hello my name is Debbie, here is my story of DogsPaws Behavioural Training...

I know first hand how special that bond between a dog and their carer is so I'm here to give you help and advise to strengthen your relationship w

ith your furry best friend and ensure you live happily together. I, like many others have grown up with animals and as an adult have had dogs, cats, rabbits and even pet mice (not all at once). At that time, he had two lovely young dogs, one deaf male Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross American Bulldog (or so we believe his mix to be) and one female Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I wanted to feed my curiosity about dogs. I started my journey to find out how dogs learn and communicate, about different breeds, their natural instincts, their behaviour and much more. It has sent me on a journey of learning and discovery, attending many courses and seminars listening and learning from world respected animal behaviourists and dog trainers. I have worked alongside excellent dog trainers and behaviourists, starting off shadowing them and then assisting in classes. Learning as much as I could along the way. This learning journey continues, for me life is a continued learning experience. My working history has been in the forensic field for over 14 years, examining and analysing crime scenes, problem solving and finding solutions. I looked at what was in front of me, working out what has happened, where, why and how. So how does this transfer over to the dog training world? In the forensic world I used science-based theories and knowledge to help understand why and how things happened, how to solve problems and provide solutions. In dog training, I used science based theories to provide me with the understanding of how dogs learn, behave and communicate. This method enables me to help a dog become a happy member of your family. Dog training has changed a lot over the years. There is so much information available to us about how kind, positive science based training methods have been shown to work much better than previous ways of dog training, ensuring that your dog always has a choice. So, for me my dog training ethos involves using my head; science based methods and knowledge and my heart; using kindness, love and ethical ways to help your dog progress and be happy. I am really excited to share this with you and to work alongside you to ensure your dog has a happy, full-filled life with you and your family. I am a proud member of the following organisations who promote and endorse ethical training methods in dog training:

IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers)
Pet Professional Guild (UK)
Pet Professional Network
ICAN (International Companion Animal Network) - affiliate member. I am fully insured and will provide a follow up report on our consultation/training and support during the time we are working together.

You asked, and we produced!

Our newly modified 20mm XS fronts now have 3 areas of adjustment instead of just 1

What does this mean?

🐾 Young pups have even more growth room than before

🐾 More adjustment in the XS front means more flexibility to put the harness on top of coats

🐾 Dogs who were a little between the 20mm XS and S size of fronts, now have a solution

If you fancy upgrading your old front for a new one, you can purchase one at a discounted price for the next 2 weeks. Take a look!

I’ve been having a sort out of my stock of leads before ordering new stock.

I have a few left in some lovely colours which may make the ideal gift for your dog or a friends/family dog.

These leads are the ones I use and they are superb!

Houndagrip leads use Raptorgrip technology which has been designed by a dog trainer to be easy to hold and not to become slippery & heavy in wet weather conditions. The special rubber based material is soft and comfortable to hold but also highly durable and strong.

These leads are highly versatile with attachments either end so they can be used to clip on to the front and top rings on a harness simultaneously for more control, or one end can be attached to one of the various clips on the lead itself to vary the length or make a handle.

I have available x2 Pink 2.2 metres and x1 Purple 2.2 metre leads which are £15 each + £2 p+p

I also have Houndagrip long/training leads. These use the same Raptorgrip technology. These have one clip to attach to the harness and no handle (I recommend no handle to prevent it getting snagged on branches etc).
Again I use these long lines myself and they are easy to use. I do recommend learning how it use a long line to improve your experience.

I have available x1 Orange and x1 Purple at £35 each plus £3.50 p+p. These normally retail at £45 each plus p+p.

If you would like to purchase one please email [email protected]. I will deliver or you can collect if local.

I am looking to put in a new order for more fab colours soon.

I would love to introduce the gorgeous Floki who we have been working with over the last few months.

Floki came to us after experiencing problems with over excited greetings - jumping up and mouthing, pulling on the lead and recall.

Floki is doing fabulously in his 1 to 1 sessions and progressing well!

Well done Floki, do give him lots of love and encouragement! 🥰🤩🐶🙌

Grace Smith recommends DogsPaws Behavioural Training.

Debbie is a fantastic teacher. Her knowledge is second to none. My pup had come on leaps and bounds and even though we have finished the foundation course we are continuing to use all the skills and techniques Debbie showed us. Really great classes, lots of fun, safe and secure area to work on, very friendly and always available to offer support. We are certainly looking to book in extra classes with Debbie. Very much worth every penny and would highly recommend to anyone who has a dog! Thank you Debbie again xx

I, like many others have grown up with animals and as an adult have had dogs, cats, rabbits and even pet mice (not all at once). Many years ago, I met my now husband. At that time, he had two lovely young dogs; one deaf male Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross American Bulldog (or so we believe his mix to be) and one female Blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I got to know and love these dogs as my own and became curious to find out how our deaf dog communicated with us and other dogs and how he saw the world. Our other dog was reactive to other dogs while out and about, after having had a poor experience with another dog when young. I began to wonder why this was and what could be done to make her feel more comfortable. I wanted to feed my curiosity about dogs. I started my journey to find out how dogs learn and communicate, about different breeds, their natural instincts, their behaviour and much more.
