Elgert Field Spaniels I have had Field Spaniels since 1979, breeding them since 1982. I am passionate about showcasing this UK Vulnerable Breed.

My dogs are part of the family and we enjoy both showing & working them. We are based in Buckinghamshire in the UK.

Spotty Dotty did a thing 🤩❤️

We were hoping to introduce these bundle of joys earlier, but this time round I did a dual mating - something I think is a fab idea for vulnerable breeds)

However…. Nature and science have decided to test our patience so much !! Now on 3rd round of swabs for the DNA result to see if we have an actual dual litter or if 1 sired stole all the cookies!!

We have preliminary results in and am over the moon as looks like we have 4 pups from one daddy and 1 from the other - but waiting for that actual certificate in my hands! 🤣🤣😱

All pups have gone to their new homes now with a contract in place stating all the above and that as soon as I get that all important piece of paper I will KC register them ……. Hopefully before they are veterans 🤣🤣🙈

Super proud of the babies and I know they are hugely loved all ready 🤩❤️🥰. So looking forward to seeing them all grow up - they have had so many adventures already so very social babies ❤️🥰

Yesterday Ester - Sh Ch Elgert Private Dancer- and I attended a training morning in Barn Hunt - once Ester sussed out the idea of what she was looking for she really did well - so fun to see how the light switch clicked on after a bit 👏

The aim is to find the tubes with rats in and not the decoy ones, you have to do three elements - find rat tubes in time trial , all 4 feet on a bale and go through the tunnel.

Will be looking at doing it again and told she needs to go up to intermediate level next time to challenge her more 👌 Love my multi purpose fit for function dog!!

Ester & I were asked to get involved with an exciting project with show and working minority breeds for the KC and sooo excited to see the results - obviously at the moment all a bit cloak and dagger till it is all unveiled.

Here are a couple of photos that ended up on the cutting room floor that I have been given permission to share. The intense look that shows Ester just gives her all when on the working field 🤩

I can’t wait to see what ones have been selected of her to use 🥰❤️. Will be a fantastic project of quality images if these are anything to go by as adore them ❤️

Beyond proud to see my name in the Crufts Catalogue judging in 2025 - anyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE Crufts or as we call it Cruftsmas 🥰. It will be an emotional day for so many reasons.

However for now it’s a good excuse to share some memories of Crufts over the years - both my foundation Field Spaniels won Crufts BOB in 1984 and 1988 and I have won several CC’s and BOB breeds since then with my dogs and recently have had the delight in competing in the Basc Classes winning twice and also the Breeders Team and one of the first Vulnerable Breeds Competitions winning an amazing Group 4.

So many memories and next year will be some special new ones made 🤩

Such a wonderful day at WKC - one of the most enjoyable shows days this year - from a leisurely drive down Friday night with Ina just finishing work half hour before we left at 1am then a couple of hours kip 1/2hr before show ground at 4am 🤣🙈 to lovely friendly welcoming car park attendants at 6.30am never been 5th car in line to enter a showground 🤣🤣🙈 but so worth it for a lovely time spent with friends and my fabulous sister 🥰

Ester wins BCC no 17 just wow !! Her litter brother won the RDCC well done Russell Mosedale with Eric winning the DCC for Ann Moss and Hallie winning BP for Carol Moore and Pam Davies winning Veteran Dog with the gorgeous Webley, Freda also won a lovely 2nd for Alastair Moss ❤️

Super proud of Stella - Killara’s Pass the Crown to Elgert JW who has had some time away from showing after she won her JW, she came back out with a bang and won Post Grad at just 15months old, so proud of how she is coming along to already have her JW won in just 4 months since her 1st Champ Show over here 😘

On the way home we meandered the bends and country roads home and found the most wonderful tranquil tearooms and had a lovely rest with cake, too many to choose from so we had a selection!, cups of tea and gorgeous scenery - Mr Puffin even had some cake before he wondered the grounds - a bit to close to the lion though 🤣🤣🙈

Really was such a wonderful show day and as I always say it is about the day with friends - wonderful to get the wins though 😘

We did a mini break to Scotland for SKC Champ Show and Ester - SH CH Elgert Private Dancer, once again delighted us by winning the BCC & also BOB - she really is a delight to live with giving 100% to everything she does.

From sandy sea dog, to full on show dog, then back to sea boat dog, have to eat all the icecream dog and finally full on sea fun dog!!

Got to love her enthusiasm 💕🐶😍

After gaining her last title of ShCEx Betsy has now semi retired after enjoying her time on the green carpet at Crufts - She might come out for special occasions as I do love showing her but now time for the youngsters - she has done me so well both in the show ring and whelping box - a special girl indeed - so more sofa time calling🥰

She won the Bitch CC at LKA last year so a fab way to retire - I still laugh at this critique from Jenny Millard - . Osborn’s Sh Ch. Elgert Lady Sta’dust JW VW. 7 year old, showed like an exuberant puppy at a Christmas party! Lovely stylish outline, in super hard condition, really ready for the beating line, lovely long neck which creates that typy typical outline, great typical proportions, liked angles fore and rear with super bone, could be tidier coming and going but she’s not alone, super head and correct stop, the most melting of expression and personality to match, I could have wrapped her up for Christmas and taken her home! BCC & BV.

Thank you Betsy for the rollercoaster of a showdream - the only Field to win all of the Show Titles - not a bad legacy ❤️
