We are having a little group brainstorming session this morning about the subjects the dogs would like me to cover in my upcoming feature called ‘Paws for Thought.’ It will be published in a local magazine, and I’ll also be sharing it here. Let me know if you have a topic you feel needs highlighting.

The dogs are very much pushing for a feature on ‘why dogs need more treats,’ but this is still in the planning stage 😁"

If you rely on a dog walker, doggy daycare, trainer, or any other outdoor pet professional, take a moment to show them some love and appreciation 🐶💕.
We often hear remarks like, “you have such a lovely job, you’re so lucky!” And while it’s true that working with animal’s brings us so much joy, this year has presented it challenges 🌧️
Let’s face it, the mud seems to be never ending 😩 But despite the rain, the cold, and more rain 🙄, we are out there ensuring your furry friends get the exercise, socialization, and care they need to be happy.

So, here’s a shoutout to my fellow pet professionals braving the elements 🌟 Your hard work and dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.
Let’s hope spring is on its way soon, bringing some sunshine ☀️ ….but not too hot please! lol 😂
Now…for a hot shower and some dry clothes 👍🏼 X

Dear Field Users,

As outlined in the terms and conditions, field slots are designated for 50 minutes, from on the hour to ten minutes before the next hour, prioritising the safety of all field users and their dogs.
It is crucial to maintain a clear 10 minute gap between bookings, ensuring everyone vacates the field and car park by ten minutes to the hour.

It has been brought to my attention that adherence to this is not always taking place. If you find it challenging to leave within your 50 minute slot, consider booking a double slot for ample time to pop your dog back on the lead and leave the car park without rushing.

please also note, that early arrivals are not permitted. If, however, you find yourself arriving early, kindly park in the far corner of the car park and remain in your car until the previous field user has left.

Dear field users.
Hope you and your doggies are all keeping well.
Just to let you all know , Mr. McGowan, our landlord, has generously offered to install a hard standing area inside the gate entrance to address the current muddy conditions. Initially, a temporary surface will be implemented.
Your patience is greatly appreciated as we work to enhance the entrance.
Rest assured, the situation is being addressed as soon as possible.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support of my little business.
It’s a joy to see so many happy dogs enjoying the use of the field.

Don’t you just love a Lurcher! ❤️
I see lots of lovely sighthounds coming to use the secure dog field as they tend to like to run after anything that moves!
The secure field is perfect to let your dog have a run and play knowing they are safe. It’s also a great place to do training with your dog without too many distractions.

💚 It’s Woodgreen’s Love a Lurcher Week. 💚

At Woodgreen, we ADORE Lurchers. We see hundreds of these wonderful dogs come through our doors every year, and sadly they’re often overlooked as potential canine companions. So we think it’s time we celebrated them!

Let’s get started with some fast facts about these long-legged wonders:

🐶 Generally, Lurchers are a cross between a Sighthound such as a Greyhound, Deerhound or Whippet and any other breed, – commonly herding types such as a Collie or Working Terrier.

🐶 They vary greatly in colour, size, coat type, and breed traits, but always have a deep chest and long legs.

🐶 Lurchers are often couch potatoes! One of the most common misconceptions about Lurchers is that they need lots of exercise. They generally don’t need much more than the average dog, and they love a good sofa snooze.

🐶They’re very nosey dogs! We regularly get updates from owners who are surprised to find their four-legged friend on the work surface in the kitchen or in the middle of the dining room table!

🐶 When you share your life with a Lurcher, you’ll smile every day. They’re cheeky, funny and often adorably clumsy.

🐶 They often have a higher-than-normal prey drive, and owners need to be aware of this when walking them or thinking about letting them off lead. Recall training (coming back when called) for Lurchers can be tricky, so a securely fenced area for off-lead exercise is important.

The secure 5 acre field will certainly provide that for you and your dog, as well as the knowledge that your dog will be safe to roam freely.

The grass is cut, the paddling pool is here, the only thing missing today is the sunshine ☀️

Lovely seeing the gorgeous Biscuit enjoying the field. ❤️

I worked in rescue and this was what inspired me to find somewhere all dogs can run free, off lead, in a safe secure environment.

It really is a dream come true. ☺️

There are 100’s of dogs (and their parents) that come and regularly use the secure field now. Safe in the knowledge their dogs are secure, safe and able to run and play safely ! ❤️🐶

My two had such a great time. They really needed to burn off a bit of excess energy and being able to book this field enables them to do that. We even got them doing more of the agility, which is not only great for their fitness but also strengthens our bond with them. So it's win win for all of us! Thanks again for providing such a wonderful safe place
