Late evening walks with loopy Lara who's stopping over for the night 🐾🐶
Happens too many times 😂
Hello everyone, hope we are all well.
Just a quick post, most of the walks today are going to be cancelled due to the high temps and looking at the weather forecast it's going to be the same results for the rest of the week. A huge pain for myself.
If you have gardens I will still be dropping by to let your dogs out, have a play with them, keep them company and make sure all water bowls are topped up with water.
Enjoy the sunny weather, keep safe, keep your dogs safe. Heatstroke can happen in a moment, don't let it be your dog that suffers from it due to your own leisurely pleasure. And if your dog walker is still getting your dogs out, think twice about who your giving your money too

Callie 🐶🐾

I will be keeping an eye on the temperatures, and if they are reached walks will be cancelled for the safety of your pooches. If you still would like a walk, get in touch and I'll be more than happy to change your booking to the weekend.
Enjoy the sunny weather before it's gone. Thankyou
It's a bit too warm this afternoon to be out and about walking Zeno on his muzzle so instead we have had play time within the garden.

Well said by Danny.
I've had numerous clients give me silly comments such as or "my dog will be fine". Danny explains it perfectly, heat stroke happens. Stop risking the life of your dog for your own pleasure.
Weather like this cannot be helped. I am not willing to risk the health of my clients dogs for a few quid in my pocket.
And if your dog walker is walking your dog in this, just take a thought on whether they care about your dog or do they just want your pennies.

Question of the day: If your Behaviourist is recommending calming medicine to "fix" your dog, are they really a Behaviourist?
In my opinion, no. A Behaviourist should be able to take a look at your dog no matter the breed and no matter the behaviours he/she is presenting and they should be able to provide you a good path forward in terms of reaching the correct behaviours and should have the ability to explain to you why the dog is exhibiting said behaviours and give you the correct tools, technique and knowledge to help your dog move forward.
If they are recommending "calming medicine" then think twice about who your paying for their so called services. Just ask yourself, do they just want your money? If a Behaviourist recommends calming medicine run the opposite way. Just a little tip, the only people that should be recommending any kind of medicine to you for your dog, is your vet.

Milo showing how to use a snuffle mat with his food. Snuffle mats are brilliant for providing mental stimulation within the house. Of course there's nothing better than outside natural stimulation, however if you have a highly energetic dog that requires that little bit extra snuffle mats are a great way to provide. They are perfect for all kinds of dogs, ranging from puppies, adults dogs and dogs with lots of energy. They are also great for slowing down dogs that are usually quick eaters. Definitely a great form of stimulation along with hand feeding and outside stimulation.
All ready for today's dogs day out at sedgley rugby club in Whitefield. Tickets can be bought on the door. Come say hi and grab yourself some puppy bargains
A quick before and after video of a session I done with a pocket bully a couple of weeks back. The issues that needed addressing were lead pulling and reactive to other dogs. Teaching a dog to not pull on the lead or "loose lead walk" does not have to be a difficult task. It doesn't have to be complicated and it doesn't have to be a struggle. With the correct use of equipment and the correct motivation for the dog loose lead walking can be accomplished with a bit of time and a bit of patience. The time difference between these two videos was 30 minutes and each part is a snippet from two 2 minute long videos. Through fixing the loose lead walking and building some motivation and confidence we were able to help with the reactivity towards other dogs as we were able to channel the dogs mindset into working with the owner so the surroundings didn't matter anymore. We teach to ignore and exist. This makes life easier for the handler and for the dog. Is the dog below totally fixed? No. He does still require time from the owners, with repetitions. However, was I able to give the owners all the knowledge they need to keep up with the work, yes I was. And did I show them what their dog is capable of? I did. Any decent trainer should be able to provide you with results from session one in regards to small issues such as lead pulling.
Dexter the doberman. I worked with this big lad, just before Christmas. I was originally called in to help with his extreme pulling and his dog reactivity. Being the strong lad he was it was very easy for him to pull over his owners when he was in that negative mindset. Starting the sessions, the first thing we worked on was handler and dog engagement and control. The dog reactivity cannot be dealt with until the handler is able to control the dog on the other end of the lead 100%. We got working on his engagement through obedience, showing Dexter where he needed to be whilst walking, showing him what lead pressure meant so we could reduce the pulling and then we got working on positive reinforcement using food. He had very little food drive so I had set his owners homework to only hand feed him his meals when out on a walk working. This in turn gave Dexter a purpose to want to do good. From setting clear boundaries and clear foundations, this allowed Dexter to be more responsive towards his handler and ignore what was going on around him, which massively reduced his reactivity towards other dogs. Train your dog to be all about you. This is a dog that went from pulling his owners off their feet to now being able to walk through heaton park and have a comfortable, enjoyable walk with his owners. Video below is just a small snippet of what we achieved in just a one hour session. Huge credit to his owners, they have done incredibly well keeping on top of the work, and doing what's best by their dog.
A little training session I did with my dog Milo. I always preach to all of my behaviour clients "record your training sessions". Why do I say this to all my clients? So you can look back and watch what you did right and praise yourself on it and what you did wrong and what needs to change whether that be from you or your dog. It teaches self discipline. You watch yourself train your dog and you'll find little tweaks here and there that you will need to make which will create such a different response from your dog. So when it comes to your next training session you know what you need to work on and how to work on it. And in regards to recording your sessions if you have a trainer then use them. Get support, get advice, send them your videos so they can watch and advise you on what needs to be changed or what was great. In regards to these videos it's really important to praise yourself too on what you did well. The video below ain't the best, it was horrible weather and I had to use a drain pipe as a tri pod but it did the job. Now looking back at that video, Milo did well for the majority of the time in regards to listening to those commands, however there are a couple of commands that I haven't bomb proofed such as "down". Milo is also very giddy, very typical behaviour for a 8 month old working Labrador, however I need to figure a way to contain that energy and use it in the right way. His "side" and "heal" work is a little bit messy but these will come with time and with practice from both me and milo. What went well? Great energy, his full attention was on me, he knows many commands, we just need to neaten them up. Record yourself guys. Assess yourselves, assess your dog and make progress in the right way.
Solo dog walks. Any breed any behaviour. Prices start from £15 per hour. Behaviour services start from £40 for one hour sessions and from £70 for crash courses. Get in touch for more details.
Jaida and Milo, both of leads. As mentioned in the previous post, I'm so proud of the pair of these two. They've worked so hard to show jaida that dogs are okay. She doesn't have to bother with them, she doesn't have to be interacting with them and she doesn't have to react to them. We're still not 100% there yet but it is for sure a huge step forward in the right direction. Thankyou
Does your dog use a snuffle mat? Snuffle mats are awesome for days like this where it's too hot to go out and walk and you have a super energetic dog that needs mental and physical stimulation. 15 minutes of engaged work on a snuffle mat is equivalent to approximately a 45 minute walk. Such an easy to use engagement tool where you can do both obedience and enrichment with your dog. Teaching them to sit and wait and to break with a reward to sniff the snuffle mat. It's also a great format to provide them their food. Instead of giving it to them in a bowl put it in a snuffle mat. Get them working for their reward. Give them enrichment. Give them the ability to use their amazing senses that they were born with, that is in their genetics. Even though you may not be able to go out for a walk, there are plenty of other ways to enrich and stimulate your dog to tire them out. Thankyou.
Dogs give the best greetings ever. Bane getting all excited to me arriving to take him out for a walk. This is what makes it all worthwhile
Good morning everyone, how is everyone. It's been a super hectic week this past week. So many new dog walking clients, new behaviour clients which is absolutely amazing, thank you all for the awesome support. Have plenty of ideas in the pipeline to expand the business and help even more pooches to what I am already helping. Throughout the day I will be updating you on all my new dog walking clients. Heres the first one. This lovely girl is a utonagon, and she's called kiki. Her owner first got in touch with me the other week to help kiki out with her dog reactivity and on lead pulling through my dog walking service. I did my first walk with Kiki last week, and she has now become a regular weekly client of mine. She responded really well with the lead work once she got into the groove of things and walked like a dream. Further down the line as I get to know Kiki more, I am going to work on her engagement and food drive so we can tackle the dog reactivity in a comfortable manner for Kiki. I look forward to working with Kiki and seeing how far we can get with her. Thankyou all.
🛑 IMPORTANT NOTICE🛑 Solo dog walks will be reduced from £15 to £12 per hour for existing and new clients. 2 dogs from same household will be £15. Couple of reasons to this. The cost of living for many of us is very tough at the minute so would like to make my services more affordable to many more of you guys. Second of all, I'm in this career to help the dogs and to help you out as owners. By reducing my dog walking prices, it allows me to help more of you guys, be a lot busier at cheaper prices, rather than charge more and not help out as many. The benefits to my solo walks, I will walk any breed with any behaviour. Whether that be pulling, or dog reactive, or even human reactive. I'm qualified in dog psychology level 1&2 with 4-5 years of hands-on experience. If you go ahead with my solo walks, and your dog has any issues, whilst they are with me they will also undergo various bits of training during the walk to help manage the behaviours. I will support you as a dog owner, in regards to helping with your training, and any advice or support you need I will be there to offer it. And finally, with my walks, there are no other distractions for me to be bothered by, when your dog is with me, your dog will be my responsibility and will receive 100% of my attention. Please like and share this post, follow and share the page, thank you all for the awesome support so far, and if you would like me to walk your dog get in touch now. Thankyou

Hi guys, so this is the draw for the competition that everyone had entered. First of all I would like to say a huge thank you for all that entered. This bundle was a mega bundle, and I really enjoyed making it. Below is the video of the draw, excuse the shaky hands and the horrendous croaky voice 😂. Still dealing with this cold. With the numbers I zeroed them out to show everyone how fair it's starting as we all like a fair game, I then done some random selection of numbers outside of the zone to show you all how random it is and that there's no tricks involved. The 1-20 was placed in and the result was number 9. The winners are Katie and Danny, jaidas owner. Katie Louise Waldron and Danny, huge congratulations. Thank you again everyone for the continuous support, the business is doing really well, the page is growing healthily and it's all down to you guys so thank you all, I really appreciate it all. I will be posting some more offers and comps up on the page and will be updating you all with more pooches from Monday. For now, everyone have a lovely weekend, have a brilliant mother's day to all the mums out there and keep an eye out for more posts to come. Thankyou all
Raise the dog that you want to raise. There is a lot of "you should do this with your dog" and not enough of "what would you like from your dog". Do you want your dog to have a job to do? Do you want to compete in agility? Do you want to do scent work with your dog? Would you like your dog on the bed with you at night? In dog training there's a lot of you can't have your dog on the settee. Or you can't have it on the bed with you. And I used to believe the same thing until I learnt differently and I developed upon my knowledge. I typically don't care now whether you have your dog on the bed with you or lay on your lap whilst you watch TV,n unless it causes an issue. That's when the rules and boundaries have to be changed. It's all about what you would like from your dog as long as it's suitable to the needs, it's ethical and it doesn't cause any bad behaviour. If you would like to do agility with your dog, look into it. Find an agility trainer, experience it, enjoy it and work out if it's what you and your dog enjoy. Do what you and your dog enjoy most. I'm saying this because on the weekend watching crufts we were in the main arena watching an agility event and one of the competitors was a greyhound and it absolutely smashed it. The dog was confident, the handler was awesome and they both did well. You raise your dog how you want to raise it. Enjoy the journey and enjoy the bond and always strive for more. Video below of the greyhound smashing the agility.
