I use an Osiris catheter to deposit fresh semen. With its design mimicking the natural mating process, the Osiris canine catheter stimulates uterine contractions thereby improving the flow of s***m cells to the oviducts. The inner telescopic flexible catheter with ball tip allows semen deposition at the entrance of the cervix and will prevent any backflow of semen making it ideal for use with fresh semen. It is rigid enough for easy insertion yet flexible enough for comfort. Further benefits of the Osiris catheter are:

New "semen shine" test - I now offer a new test for fresh, chilled and frozen semen which can tell you how long the semen will survive once inside the female dog - 1 hour or between 1-5 days. Most semen looks great under the microscope but this test will tell you how long it will survive after it is inseminated. No more blaming the stud dog! 100% accurate.

I use satin feel semen collection cones. These are better for the dog as the plastic ones may cause injury resulting in blood in the sample. Also some dogs can be sensitive and reactive to the poly plastic ones.
