Milo had a lovely 2 week break at Paul's Pooch Pad, I think max is definitely missing the play time this week ๐๐คฃ๐
Doing home boarding you see many different dogs. Every now and then there is inspirational and exceptional dogs, Skye was one of those. Sadly we heard that skye grew her angel wings this month and it was her time to go ๐ Skye was totally blind and came to her owners as a rescue. They gave her a new lease of life and even though she had conditions she absolutely had a zest for life and lived life to the full. We were lucky to look after her on a few occasions and we was amazed how resilient she was and dealt with her blindness so well. She had the upmost trust in the person guiding her and it was a privilege to do for her what her breed do for so many blind humans. End of life is never easy, but we should take solace in the fact that we have enriched their life to the very end. I'm sure her tail is still waging up there and she is now at peace. Thank you for the memories Skye ๐๐ช๐

We haven't any boarding guests at the moment so max needs some mindful stimulation to keep his brain occupied. He used to get this one first time but because he hasn't used it in so long it took a few attempts before he was on it. It did the job and tired him out though, the simple process of him having to work out how to get a treat rather than just handing it to them helps enormously. Alot of our boarding guests get some form of treat release, be it lick mat or treat mat or even hiding treats amongst towls or around the garden for them to find.
Thank you and Merry Christmas all from Paul's Pooch Pad. Here's a small batch of clips of our wonderful boarders from this year. Lots of fun has been had by all. Here's to more fun times in 2024 ๐๐๐๐
Our Max gets special treats for being so good with all our boarding guests. We don't let him have bones when we have guests as he can get quite possessive about them, so when he's not got friends over it's treat time ๐๐๐ฆด as you can see he gets quite excited ๐๐คฃ
We would like to wish all our lovely guests this year and their wonderful dog parents a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2024. We look forward to seeing you all again for more fun and frolics ๐ฅฐ๐๐๐โ๐ฆบ
In no way do I want to ban fireworks or stop peoples enjoyment, but this is what we have at the first sound of a firework. Max is constantly shaking and stressed even with his snood on to muffle the sound. We don't hype it up when we say the dogs get stressed about it.
Being a dog owner and a dog carer you soon realise that even the best made plans can go wrong. And let's face it they often do. This is our morning walk about 2 hours before Jayz owner is coming to collect him ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐๐คทโโ๏ธ
It may not be the red carpet rolled out, but the rugs are out all the same for next week's boarding guest as she doesn't like slippery floors. So Paul's Pooch Pad has adapted to keep everyone happy ๐
Looking after people's pooches involves more than just fun walks and playing with balls. There's always grooming and teeth cleaning to be done too. Luckily Kenzo here loves his pamper session.
Today our max had a lovely little reunion with one of his brothers from the same litter. We had a meet and greet and he will be a guest at Paul's Pooch Pad next year. It's hard to tell if they new there siblings but it certainly felt like a long lost family moment for us ๐ฅฐ๐๐
Frankie's last day with us ๐ข he's a fabulous ball of energy and we've loved hosting him. A wonderful mixture of fun and playful but cute and chilled also.
This week's boarding guest is Skye, she's 13 years old and completely blind but loving life. On our short walks it makes me feel good being a sighted person for a blind dog giving back to a breed that is renowned for being sighted dogs for blind people ๐๐ฅฐ
There are only minimal bookings left for this year until the end of October. I have small blocks of dates free here and there but not many longer than that. I always advise early booking so as not to be disappointed ๐
Happy new year to all past and future customers at Paul's Pooch Pad. Here's hoping we all have a healthy 2023 along with our pooches. This new year's eve will be spent fighting for space on the sofa infront of the fire because between max and our boarding guest I don't think myself or Lee will get a look in !๐คฃ๐ฅฐ
Last weeks guest was a lively young Cavachon called Liquorice. We've home boarded him numerous times and the training is really having an effect on him now. He's slowly quietening down and becoming calmer.
