It feels a little strange to say this, but I’m going to be starting my new job next Monday! After a slightly boring few weeks of business and life admin 😴

I’m excited to see what this next chapter holds! And also wanted to politely remind everyone that unfortunately, looking after dogs isn’t my job anymore. TDHN is such a special chapter in my life, but I don’t have the time I used to, to commit to regular arrangements. I’m still more than happy to help out with the lovely dogs I already have a relationship with as and when I can - it’s always a pleasure to see them and I really enjoy it! But please be aware that I’ll have less flexibility / availability now I’m employed again and any arrangements made are not through the business.

Soon I’ll be getting rid of the work number (ending in 526), so please drop me message if you’d like an alternative number for me and I’d be happy to pass one on. I’ll be keeping the social channels up and running so feel free to message me that way too. And my personal Insta is if you fancy following me over there, although the content is nowhere near as cute as this account! 😆🐶

It’s back to normality for me tomorrow! Thank you for your patience for responses to messages I received whilst I’ve been away. I didn’t take my work phone abroad with me and it doesn’t look like my automatic responses worked too well this time 😓🤷🏻‍♀️

But I’m feeling rested and recharged and will be happy to get back to helping out with pooches I already have a relationship with where I can from tomorrow, so don’t be afraid to ask! Although this will be an arrangement completely separate to the business, which is now closed 🐾

‼️SPACES AVAILABLE‼️

Due to some changes in circumstances from a few of my clients I now have a very small amount of available spaces for dog walks!

All dogs that apply will need to be assessed before hand, will need to be good on and off the lead, have good social skills with other dogs, and must be breeds that are able to walk for at least 1 hour.

I can only take dogs on in the following locations - Blakelaw, Westerhope, West Denton, Chapel House, Callerton & surrounding areas.

We are Insured, hold a 5 star boarding licence (we offer home boarding to our regular walking clients) and canine first aid & CPR trained.

Please message me if you’d be interested with your dogs name, age, breed, s*x, neutered/un-neutered, training level, how often you’d require walks and which days, and your location 😊

This one goes out to my little Maya - my pocket rocket, chief snuggler, and resident bossy boots 😆

Maya has been coming to The Dog House Newcastle for regular daycare for almost a year. In that time, she’s become so much more confident and has really settled into her regular groups. It’s been amazing to witness! 🥰

Despite her small stature, Maya is truly full of beans and thrives in every group she’s been in with me. She won’t let any of the other dogs boss her about her about and definitely won’t stand for anyone else being on my lap 😆 but will very happily participate in a game of chase 💨

She’s the Queen of enrichment games and can be seen teaching Tilly the latest enrichment puzzle in the last picture 🥹

I love Maya loads and will certainly miss my morning cuddles and kisses! I know the other dogs will miss her lots too 🤍🐾

This handsome fella is Zeus, another one of my regular daycare dogs 😍

Zeus has been coming to The Dog House Newcastle for regular daycare since February when he was just a pup. He’s grown up in daycare and made so many friends along the way!

I literally can’t believe how big he is now! But apparently never too big to sit on my lap 😂🥹 He would have you believe he’s a big tough Shep that doesn’t like snuggles, but I can assure you otherwise! 🥰

It’s been amazing to see him grow in confidence over his time here and get to know his headstrong yet soft and friendly personality.

We missed him loads over the last couple of weeks of daycare when he was off having his big boy op 🥺 especially him helping me to fill up the paddling pool then digging all the water back out again 😂💦 Hope you’ve had a speedy recovery, Mr!

Aww Charlie Bear, time flies! 🥹

Charlie the lovely lab has been coming to me for regular daycare since she was a lil pup. It’s been incredible to watch her grow, not just in size but in confidence and curiosity too. She’s become a friendly, playful and inquisitive girl and she’s an absolute joy to be around. I have complete faith that I can mix Charlie with any dog of any size and she will be wonderful, if a little over excited at times! 🤪

Again, I’m so proud to have built a strong bond with CB. We have been on so many adventures together and she will be a great miss now I’ve closed the biz 🤍🐾

Oh my sweet Benji boy, where do I even start with you?!

Benji has come to The Dog House Newcastle for regular daycare every week for the last year, and in that time, he’s truly become my little bestie. He’s the goofiest, most loving spaniel I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting 🤍

You can usually find him with Scooby ball in his mouth, on my lap or teasing the other dogs into chasing him 😂 He has such typical spaniel energy 🤪 and I feel so fortunate to have met him and built the amazing bond we have now 🥰 even if he does strop about having his photo taken 😂😭 (see pic 8)

I’m gonna miss you so much Benj!! 🥺

And there we have it… the last day of The Dog House Newcastle is complete! Thank you so much to every single person and pooch that has supported me and my small business over the past year or two. It means the world that so many of you have trusted me to look after your furry friends and I have loved every single second.

I also want to say a massive thank you to everyone who got me lovely thank you cards and gifts and sent me heartfelt texts over the past few weeks. I really do have the best customers 🤍

I’ll be taking the weekend off to be sad about all the wonderful pooches I’ll miss seeing on a daily basis, but I’ll be back to doing admin and tying up loose ends next week. That includes making sure payments are correct as I’ve been a bit slack at double checking these past few weeks because I have been enjoying extra quality time with the dogs before I finished 🥹 you can really help me out with my admin my making sure you are up to date with payments and that standing orders are now cancelled. If you have any questions, just drop me a message and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

Trying to kick the last day blues with a post dedicated to my Betsie Boo, who had her last day on Wednesday 😭

Betsie’s another dog I was lucky enough to look after before I started the business. We met on and I fell in love with her right away! She’s the sweetest girl with the biggest heart 🤍 She can be a little bit shy when you first meet her, but soon comes out of her shell for cuddles or to play with a ball once she’s got to know you! A ball is her absolute FAVE 😍🎾

She and her pawrents stuck with me and supported me when I started the business and I’m extremely grateful! It’s been a real pleasure to continue to grow my bond with Betsie. She’s a delight to look after - a great on-lead walker with solid recall too. But best of all, she loves a snuggle 🥰 and a good run around with her pals 🤪

I will miss Betsie so so much. She’s a ray of sunshine and I hope to see her again very soon 🤗🐾

It’s the last day of The Dog House Newcastle tomorrow and it’s come round far too quickly for my liking! 😭 There have been so many goodbyes over the past couple of days, although none of them forever as (with pawrents permission) I’ll be keeping in touch 🥰 and it’s been hardddd 😓

This gorgeous, smiley black lab is Juno - one of the first dogs I ever boarded! After boarding her for her summer holidays last year, Juno had such a good time at The Dog House Newcastle that she became one of my regular Wednesday daycare gals, and what a pleasure it’s been!

Juno is intelligent, funny and oh so cuddly. She brightens my day every single time I see her and I will certainly miss her shoving her head onto my lap for a scratch at any and every given moment 😂

Thanks for being my bestie, Juno. Me and the rest of the Wednesday crew miss you already 🤍🐾

It was Tilly’s last day at The Dog House Newcastle yesterday 😢 she’s another pooch I had the pleasure of looking after long before I started the business, so here’s a post for smiliest lover of kisses, rivers and rolling in 💩

I came to know Tilly through . I used the app before I started the business because honestly, I just looove spending time with dogs. I enjoyed using the app so much that I decided to make it my career and Tilly stuck with me 🫶

She’s an older gal, but you wouldn’t know it! She loves to get stuck in with play, swimming and sniffing around on long walks. But not as much as a cuddle and a kiss on the sofa! 🥰

She’s so good and an absolute pleasure to care for. It’s been amazing to grow our bond over the past few years and have her round to play both when she needs someone, and just for fun 🤪

One of my favourite things has been teaching her how to do various enrichment activities as she has special requirements that mean we can’t always do group enrichment. She’s SO good at all my feeder toys now and loves the mental challenge. I also love the challenge of coming up with new enrichment ideas for her!

I’m going to miss seeing you every week so much Tilly dog 🖤🐾

Today was Rosie and Midi’s last day 😢 my two crazy labs have brightened my mornings since way before I started the business, so here’s a little post dedicated to them 🤎🖤

I started off looking after gorgeous girl Rosie on BorrowMyDoggy a few times a week when she was just a year old. She continued coming to me after I started the biz and not long after that, I had the pleasure of being Rosie’s doggy widwife when she had Midi and her 7 other pups! To this day, it’s one of the most magical things I’ve ever experienced and I’m so proud of the bond we built that meant she trusted me to be there to help her 🥹💓

Midi’s grown up in daycare and it’s been a pleasure watching her become the intelligent and goofy girl she is today 😂 Rosie loves daycare too because it means she can have a break from Midi’s constant play advances and have lots of cuddles whilst Midi plays with the other dogs 🥰

I’m going to miss seeing them every week soooo much. Especially their random repertoire of tricks that they display when they think I’ve got a treat 😂🤍

I have some sad news… 😞

I have some sad news… 😞 On Friday 9th September, I’m closing The Dog House Newcastle. I’m g u t t e d. In this video I waffle on about why, the logistics and my recommendations for alternative dog care providers. There’s a lot of useful info in there if you have time to give it a watch! I realise not everyone will have time to watch the whole thing, but I could never do this announcement justice otherwise. To cut a long story short, unfortunately I have been experiencing pain in my joints whilst working and my doctors have advised me that I should stop as I’m doing myself some damage. As part of this, I’m likely to need an operation on my feet soon which would put me out of work for a while. I looked into various options to continue doing what I love but for various reasons, stopping is the best option. Everything is explained in the video if you’re curious! If you’d like to attend the play date referenced in the video on Sunday 18th Sept, please let me know by this Sunday (21st Aug) so I can get it organised! 🤪🐶 My recommendations and what they offer are all spoken about towards the end of the video, if you wanna skip to that part. Enrichment activities are a great way of mentally exercising your dog whilst it’s too hot to go outside. Here, Otto is doing a snuffle mat with his breakfast kibble. You can buy this snuffle mat off Amazon. Other feeder toys are great for enrichment too and can be found in supermarkets, B&M and on Amazon. LickiMats and KONGs - more great forms of enrichment - can also be found on Amazon. Freezing a LickiMat / KONG can help to prolong the time it takes your dog to complete it, and keep them cool in this heat. But enrichment doesn’t have to be expensive. You could: 🐾 Freeze your dog’s food in water 🐾 Hide kibble / treats around the house so your dog can sniff them out 🐾 Wrap treats in a wet tea towel, twist it up and put it inside a empty loo roll for your dog to work it out.
