It been a busier Saturday evening than expected at HQ 💚 as we had an emergency doggie admission the dachshund’s as there mum was 🤒 so Ben collected them in the doggie mobile and brought them back to HQ and they soon settled in 🐶💚 happy to help 💕 Collies headed home this morning after a pamper brush yesterday and a stroll and breakfast this morning 🐶🐶 lovely to see you both again see you the new year 🥰

Still being able to use the garden like we have been recently and today practically being sunburnt whilst out in the summerhouse is such a joy for us all especially in November were absolutely making the most of it 🙌 ☀️ then final walk we saw the moon 🌙 🐶🐾💚

# This has just come to my attention #
So scary as this would have directly affected us as Sam uses you move for his joints luckily I saw this post today on social media just as the new tablets arrived today. I’m still using the old batch which is fine thank goodness but this is just a warning for anyone using you move tablets for their dog there are counterfeit ones going around the ones I received didn’t have the you move logo on the foil like usual I bought them from Amazon. All tablets bought direct from you move are fine and haven’t been affected and they have up to date information on their website about this
I have tried to get a refund but the company are currently refusing so I will go direct to Amazon I will also make a complaint and take this further please share this so no more dogs get harmed as the counterfeit ones have toxins in and are dangerous and sadly dogs have already passed away 🤍🌈

Tomorrow is fireworks night 🎆 just a few things that may help your friend tomorrow as human’s we find them exciting but dogs can find fireworks confusing and overwhelming as they don’t understand the noise or bright lights it can be a sensory overload for them 🐶🥰

💚 Close all the curtains and get the Tv 📺 turned 🆙 or maybe some classical music 🎶 there are radio 📻 stations that are providing special shows for the evening to drown out the fireworks 🎇
There are also some drums 🪘 taiko that are good for background noise to help on you tube

💚 Provide a safe space/ den with lots of blankets for your dog that they can retreat to if scared

💚Give praise for being calm but do not over fuss them if they would like to interact games to distract cardboard shredding treats wrapped in a towel

💚Take your dog for plenty of exercise during the day before it gets dark no worries about that here doggies will be tired if they have attended daycare 👌

💚 Try not too but if your dog does need to go out in the evening make sure its only to the garden if possible and that your dog is on a lead because if they are scared/spooked dogs can bolt and find an escape point they could easily scale a fence or gate then they could possibly injure themselves in the process

💚There are products available to help if your dog is scared like thunder shirts,
Pheromone diffusers and calming tablets from the vets

💚Lick mats, kongs, long lasting chews may help as they help dog feel tired after all the chomping 😴

Mayhem Monday here at HQ 🐶💚
Molton and Kyra came along for daycare ☺️
Wilbur who joined yesterday for his holibobs and had a good play with Sam last night and then this morning Molton and Wilbur decided they were going to play all day talk about inseparable 🐕‍🦺🦮 😍 no pics of the morning walk as it was very wet 💦 😵‍💫 dryer this afternoon 😃 Kyra found where the dog biscuits are kept and insisted she could keep an eye on them 🤭
All pups 🐶 are now crashed out and i don’t think i will be far behind 😉😂

If you receive this email please do not click on any of the links or give them any information. A MICROCHIP DOES NOT EXPIRE, once they are registered they are registered and the only way a microchip would be 'unregistered' is if the chip was never registered to begin with, in which case they would not have the owners details.

Today is national black dog day oct 1st and we have our very own black beauty here at HQ 💚 MAX 🖤 and let’s also take time celebrate all the black dogs who attend HQ aswell 🐶🖤 and just all of the black dogs everywhere 🐕‍🦺🥰

Lovely break last week for HQ staff humans and dogs 😍 and we are now back open 🙌🤩 and ready for shenanigans 🐾🥰 Molton and Kyra on daycare today to start the week off and Mavis joined us this afternoon to start her HQ holiday 🐶💚

📣Our club of canine blood donors has reduced in size recently as some of its members have had to retire from their superhero duties. We would love to find some new donors to take their place. There are specific criteria that need to be met for a dog to be eligible, but if your pet meets these requirements please get in touch.

• Under 8 years old
• Over 25kg
• In good health with a calm temperament
• No foreign travel
• Live close to the surgery (your dog may be needed at short notice)

Your dog will be booked in with one of our nurses for a blood test to determine whether they are a positive or negative blood type. As a thank you to you and your pet, a £50 credit will be applied to your account each time your pet donates blood.
