Mum’s had a hip replacement, and is choosing to age disgracefully! She’ll maybe do her wobble berry challenge yet 😜

I know Pads will look after her, no questions asked, he’s even put her back in the saddle once or twice 😅 he’s an absolute gem of a horse! 💎

To day we have had a 100% success rate on first attempts with his frozen rocket fuel, but know some customers prefer fresh or chilled.

He has paces for dressage, a huge jump and fantastic ground coverage through his uphill strides. Not only that, he has the most wonderful of temperaments.

He tends to stamp his foals with long legged elegance, uphill paces, a scopey jump and a wonderful nature.

First Paddy bambino of 2023 has arrived!

Time will tell whether she’s bay or buckskin but she’s a little stunner! Lighter in the flesh so we shall see. Big white star!

Some more insight into the team behind Paddy (and the rest of the herd)… 💕

This is Lynda Sharp, with us at Frenchfield BE. Lynda is Hands on Horses, and has some pretty phenomenal holistic tools up her sleeve for keeping your horses comfortable, healthy and happy (She also runs Wellness Centre Dumfries which is great for riders, and any other person, in tip top condition too!).

With a wealth of knowledge from her own experience working with horses in many different disciplines, Lynda sees things most will miss, and is very insightful in dealing with issues. She has an excellent manner with the horses, easily developing a rapport to help them relax in her company. She even rides Paddy on occasion, and has taken him dressage training! A very good resource on classic dressage and she has trained with some of the greats of our sport herself.

Paddy oozes quality from every pore. His elegant stature and elastic movement are what equestrian dreams are made of. Scope to burn and a nature to die for, this gentleman really does have it all. He lives life barefoot, with great feet, and had the most generous temperament.

He has only been lightly competed due to previous owners other commitments, but has raked up high seventy percent scores in unaffiliated dressage and jumped to 1.10 in competition and far beyond at home with me.

Paddy shows talent in all three disciplines, along with an easy and interested trainable attitude.

He is currently looking after me, an amateur jockey, round BE100 tracks whilst I gain experience and the MER’s to take him further. He placed at the start of the season at Floors Castle International Horse Trails in stiff competition and would have continued to shine had he not fractured a tooth causing performance issues we took rather too long to figure out. He’s genuine attitude kept me safe even when dealing with what mush have been a huge amount of pain, he didn’t say no until the tail end of the season, and I cannot wait to get back to it now we’ve discovered the issue.

He has a small number of lovely offspring, as has only had limited use as a stallion, again due to previous owners other commitments, but has proven to be hugely fertile with every mare last season taking first time from his frozen collections.

Something Paddy definitely loves is his Physiotherapy sessions with Mel Brown of Browns Veterinary Physiotherapy

Mel has such a wonderful manner with the horses, they adore her, and are blissfully chilled by the end of every session. Noticeably happier in themselves after too.

Not only is Mel a qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist, she also has a BSc (Hons), in Applied Animal Science, MIRVAP, MIAVRPT
LANTRA accreditation in Horse, Saddle, Rider Evaluation and is currently undertaking a Certified Equine Ergonomist (Saddle Fitter course) with Saddle Fit 4 Life.

She will soon be available to sort saddles as well as backs! 👌

We’ll let you in on a little secret!

Not only is Paddy my Eventing partner in crime, he’s also been teaching my bestie how to jump again!

This gentle giant got roped in for my coaching course a while back, and helped me confidently take Rebecca from not having jumped in years (many many years) to popping a decent upright in a single session (he’s quite the charmer don’t you know!).

Paddy’s offspring are known to inherit his generous attitude and willingness to please, whether competitively or simply as your best friend.

The horse, the legend 😉

Well, I think so anyway!

Bad planning and wrong directions made for a total lack of a dressage warm up, and a fan club of shouting mares made for an interesting test. SJ was an improvement on last time and is a work in progress. XC was AMAZING, especially because we rode it blind due to the somewhat hilarious timings with two horses. This horse is a super star. 🤩

He was an utter gentleman, chilling out of the way and putting up with too many cuddles whilst we waited our turn, couldn’t have asked for a more genuine chap. Auntie Ellie loves him too.

He is a credit to GFS Sporthorses and Tania, and as was promised, his ability to bring joy is second to none. Can not fault him today. 👌

This little Scottish thing keeps giving me kisses 🙄

She says I have a very kissable nose 🤷‍♀️

Weathers been so changeable up here, we don’t know what’s coming next! Hopefully we get an entry in for Frenchfields and can start having some fun soon 🤞

Aiming for a nice easy run at 90 to get my jockey settled with my rather large stride and hopefully away we go! Got to look a after the little smidge.
