Started the day off in the worst way possible. Sadly a fox managed to break through the netting and fencing and took my little hawk. Hawk has been with me from day one and we are so upset and angry. These things happen, just shows you that these things do happen no matter the precautions you take!

Along with the bantams, we have the barnvelder cockerel, he’s a beautiful bird and has many awards across the uk. He’s a very calm and show ready.

We also have 2 large fowl Barnvelder hens, again with stunning colours and patterns. These also have many awards under their belts from across the country.

We had a long night last night. We had our first encounter with one of the local red foxes. With our strong netting above the coop and run it didn’t manage to get in but did start to dig under. Today we are making adjustments as we are certain he will be back tonight.

These heating plates are brilliant for when your chicks are around 1/2 weeks old. Use less electricity than a heat lamp and height can be raised.

Due to some technical issues outside of our immediate control, this months hatch isn’t meeting our hopes or expectations, when we have the healthy chicks we will post straight away once we know they are stable and well for their rehoming. We are devastated at the loss they’ve occurred this month however we will always continue to provide our customers with the best support and the best service we scan provide. Please bare with us as we try to adjust a few things within the business.
