It’s been a busy day, prepping for the return to normality next week with the new school term starting…so a hearty chicken fajita topped with a spicy salad mix; never get bored of the crunch of these , the fire of the and the fresh flavour of the .

Dinner eaten, children asleep, time to head to the grow room and sow trays for our next event… watch this space…!

Ooops! So things don’t always go to plan.

This is a dish of peas from one of our grow kits that (with the busy weekend!) I forgot was on the dark shelf! It was left in the dark for just a bit too long, notice the long stems? A gardener would call that ‘leggy’, I call it ‘yummy’! 🤣.

No, they aren’t quiet right bless them, but they still taste good, even at this stage…let’s see how the go for the next few days!

We are here! for the next 3 days. Launching our new grow kits so you can grow your own and selling our cut microgreens alongside some amazing Hampshire honey! folk, you don’t need to be at the festival itself to visit the craft market, so pop to and see what’s going on! Lots of lovely craft stalls and interesting bits and bobs, and amazing street food!! See you soon!

Sometimes I get asked what happens to the compost after I’ve used it. Well, lots goes to local people who keep chickens as they love the roots and shoots, but some ends up in my compost bin, when that happens very occasionally I get a sunflower that decides to pop up having been through the compost bin.

This one took root amongst my dahlias. I decided to leave it and it’s produced the most beautiful flower. As you can see, the bees, including this bumblebee, have been loving it!

We’ve been busy over at Seed Leaf HQ, listening to feed back from you, our lovely customers, many of whom would like to try growing microgreens yourselves.

Well, after a bit of research and development we’re going to start selling grow kits!

These will contain everything you need to grow your own microgreens at home; seeds, grow medium, windowsill friendly grow dishes, and most importantly perhaps, detailed instructions!

Super greens! This looks amazing Organically Speaking, I’m sure it tasted as good as it looks!

SEASONAL SALAD....I'm a big fan of throwing things together and seeing what happens...this was a delicious salad that I'll do again - you don't need to make much effort when the ingredients all have great individual flavours, organic and in season produce is always going to be a winner. Waxy organic British new potatoes with slices of organic avocado and organic peppery radish. Chunks of Ticklemore creamy goats cheese from our cheese counter scattered with broccoli microgreens from Seed Leaf Micro Farm (delivered fresh to us every week from Jon our local producer) and being a herb lover I've added some mint and marjoram leaves from my ever expanding herb garden. A simple dressing made by a quick whisk together of organic olive oil, lemon juice and wholegrain mustard. Come and see us tomorrow and pop great tasting organic produce in your basket because whatever you throw together we are confident it will be delicious! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow, open 9am-4pm

What a wonderful day at .speaking! The lovely customers from were a joy as ever. Some familiar faces along with some new converts to microgreens; always lovely to see! I completely sold out and was ‘live cutting’ to meet demand! This is possibly one of my favourite uses for me personally. Accompanying a delicious English muffin from (also available from Organically speaking…double win for our delivery days!!) and local free range eggs (there’s a story to those, I’ll share it soon!) come and see us today!

It is good to be growing again!! Near 100%, almost perfectly uniform germination on the peas…can’t complain about that!

These will grow on for 7 days, a slightly longer grow time in winter, and will be ready for delivery next weekend!

The website opened up again for orders today and the orders are coming in…I’m looking forward to seeing our regular customers again after a few weeks off!

Broccoli! We love trying new things, and whilst we’ve grown lots of broccoli in the past 6 months, this is our first go at Broccoli ‘Calabrese’. it’s a bit taller, a bit bolder, a bit more robust than Broccoli ‘Raab’, but we love it!!

This batch is just for us, but we will be sowing some for sampling at the next instore event at .speaking on October 29th. Hope to see you there!
