CUSTOMER REVIEW 🥰: "I am writing because my husband and I received one of your beds as a gift for our cat Valentina, and because we did not directly purchase the bed there is no option on the etsy or webpage to leave a review. What I would like to say is: Valentina is a very opinionated cat, and it is rare for her to engage in any specific cat related furnishings. This bed however, has become one of her favorite things. We've placed it in her favorite corner in the house, where previously she would lay on the wood floor and not accept any type of cushion. Now we find her snuggled up on her sofa on a regular basis."

It all began with a cat called Marvin!

It was after a chance conversation in the local greengrocers that Marvin, along with all of his 3 worldly possessions, stumbled into our lives. (If you were wondering; a purple kitty bowl, a cardboard box, a set of pink curtains!). Marvin's previous humans had been looking to re-home him because sadly he didn't cut the mustard. Marvin had turned out not to be the family friendly cat they'd hoped for. He didn't like being fussed, would scratch, was semi feral and better suited to life as an outdoor farm cat. Coincidentally this is what we'd been looking for, an independent farm cat. He was free to a good home, and we said we'd take him.

So how did Marvin 'the outdoor farm cat' become the inspiration behind quirky cat beds?

It was clear from the get go that Marvin loved his new countryside life, and role as chief rodent controller. In particular enjoying the freedom to come and go as he pleased from his home-made cat kennel, under the apple trees at the bottom of the garden. But not long after Marvin's arrival, we noticed that his supposedly toughened character had a soft spot... or two. Surprisingly Marvin very much liked being in the company of his two new humans and soon I had a little black shadow as I'd go about daily jobs on our small holding. The shadow became more confident, accompanying me to see to the animals, joining me for a walk down the track to collect our post and eventually slipping through the front door straight into our kitchen. It was then that we realised what Marvin's other soft spot is... he's a sucker for creature comforts. With the farm cat spending a chunk of his day in the kitchen, he looked to need a comfy bed to curl up in. When I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for, Marvin received a home made gift... and so Quirky Cat Beds was born!
