9 years ago, I started sewing hammocks for my ferrets at my dining room table. What began as a personal project soon grew into something more as I launched a small pet boarding business. Once I was confident in my sewing skills, I started selling to my customers, and the response was incredible! Next, I ventured onto eBay, where I kept receiving requests for all kinds of hammocks and bedding. These requests pushed me to expand my skills and creativity, allowing me to grow as a maker. By 2019, I was selling on Etsy, and my pet boarding business was thriving. Then 2020 arrived, and like many, I faced a major challenge during the pandemic. With lockdowns in place, I had to make a tough decision: I closed my boarding business and focused solely on creating small animal bedding full-time. Fast forward 5 years, and I couldn’t be prouder of how far Bumbles Pampered Paws has come! This was my little Lolly Lou, gone for 4 years now but never forgotten🐾💔 She was such a sweet, tiny ferret, weighing only 650g—such a dinky little lady! I only went to the vets to pay a bill for my dog and she had been bought in as she was found wandering the streets. Nobody had claimed her and they didn’t know what to do. They knew I already had ferrets and asked if I would have her. How could I say no? She was the perfect companion for my other rescue ferret, Stuart. It was love at first sight for them both and they lived about 7 years together. She absolutely loved her snuggly beds and was always so happy to test out my new designs.
