We live in Teesside, perhaps in the smallest suburban zoo in the world. We have our dogs (more about them under the ‘The dogs’ tab), a kitten called Boo, a house rabbit called Jasper, hamsters called Marmite, Pie, Custard and Cream and a pond full of Koi carp. In the past we’ve had chickens, cats and several other dogs ranging from Cooper, a headstrong amazing Springer Spaniel through to Phoebe, a
rescue Greyhound, the sneakiest thief in the world. Also a special mention to Mr Bramley cat the laziest cat in the world who lived to the ripe old age of 24. As you can tell, we love animals! We’re actually fairly new to this breeding lark. these pups will be our 3rd and 4th litters. We very quickly realised that the whole experience is something we want to keep repeating. However, we’re a little different in how we do things…. So, as you may have already read, we do things slightly differently to many breeders. We realised at the start that the traditional way of picking a puppy on looks alone in our opinion is not the best way to select your new pet. So we set about changing things by what we call ‘matching’. We ask all prospective buyers to contact us through the ‘contact us’ section and tell us about themselves. We’d like to know obvious stuff like who you are, why you’d like a dog, why you’ve chosen a Fox Red Labrador. However, we also ask that you to tell us about some really important additional things such as where you live (suburbia, countryside etc), what your home is like (quiet, manic, how many kids etc), what lifestyle you have (adventurous, hikers, relaxed etc) and finally if you have any special circumstances we can consider. As you’ll see in the ‘Previous litters’ section, our pups have gone on to be aid dogs for children with various special needs, have become farming dogs and even joined a family actively involved with the RNLI
Once you’re offered a pup, we encourage you to join a private WhatsApp group with the other new owners where we offer very regular PUPDATES with pictures and videos of the litter whilst being on hand to answer any questions you may have. In the background we actively watch the puppies over the first 5 weeks to get a full understanding of their little personalities. It’s amazing watching them develop, whether they are the boisterous one, the mischievous one or the gentle one, these traits soon become apparent. At 5 weeks we then match the puppies to you and your home. It’s at this point we invite you to visit us and meet your new best friend for the first time! Then finally, sometime around the 8 week stage we welcome you back to pick up your new buddy. You’ll leave with a puppy that is well on the way to being toilet trained, fully wormed, vet checked and micro-chipped. We also give you a gift pack full of little surprises plotting the early weeks of your puppy’s life. This process may feel a little prescriptive if you’ve never been part of this before, but we feel it’s for the best and our previous owners certainly seem to agree.
