Jayla found my forever home

Jayla’s been with us 4 weeks over the busy Christmas hols. She’s sociable, looking for cuddles and mixing in with my other 3 ( boy) dogs- all in her own time as she’s timid at first and then amazingly brave joining in!. She’s kind and gentle, loves her walks, is polite on the lead and has spring in her step when we are outside.

Today she knows I am posting about her as she’s following me around the house( or is she trying to snaffle my breakfast!)

Mum..... we know you have been teaching us all about self-selection, and we have enjoyed our pretty bowls of Barley Grass and Green Clay.....WELL....we thought we would have some fun and treat ourselves with the big bag of Green Clay - it went all over the place. We also found some feathers to play with, and put loads of clay in. your shoes Mum to help your feet get better!!! It was such fun! Can we play with oils and clay another time Mum? 🤣🤣🤣🤓. We're bestest friends now!!

Thea here! Amber tried to stop us from misbehaving, but I was very sweet to her and she then said that we could carry on. She probably knew that Otto couldn't play for long anyway - lol xx. It was great fun anyway. Maybe one day Jayla will play with me - I do hope so 'cos she is quite fun and a great friend to me! Mum and Dad say that we are good for one another!!

Hi folks - It's Jayla here - just settled down for a nice nap under my office desk, and these two clowns decide to have a 'Thea and Otto playtime' - Amber is on my side, as she is just disgruntled, and came over to me for support. Quite funny to see The Old Man behaving like a pup!

Hiya folks - Thea here - I had a bit of a scary day today as I had to go in that grey box with big round things at the corners, and we zoomed off down the road - not the normal zoomies I do in the field though! After a while Mum opened the door and I was afraid to get out in the strange place out side the vets. There were other dogs in boxes too, and they started barking at me so I got really scared. Mum picked my up and carried me into the room. We had to sit there for a while and Mum explained that a kind man would come and talk to me, so I got a bit scared again! But Mum carried me into a small room, and the man had a look at my mouth. He said I have really nice teeth, and couldn't understand why I had a big lump on my jaw. He poked a needle into it and a lot of yucky liquid came out - so Mum was really happy now as she thought it might have been a C lump!! and she was really scared. I now have to take some pills every day, but the vet man said I would be better soon! I didn't know I wasn't better, but I suppose Mum was worried....... I love my Mum and she loves me. When I got home I rushed back into the house, then went outside and did my usual zoomies around the pond.....Jayla did slow zoomies with me too - I think she was worried I would not come home!!

Hi, it's Jayla here - it's sometime since I blogged on here, but life just wanders along for all us dogs. In our little group with have The Boss, aka Otto, who is a elderly statesman, and what Otto says Rules - but is girls know how to get round him most of the time! Then we have Amber (she's not really a GSP but we allow that here!) - she is always busy, laughing and 'on a mission' - all Brittany's are 'Mission Dogs' Mum says, so we just let her get on with her Missions!

Our new pack member Thea is settling in very well - in fact so well that I have had to change my game plan a bit and she is teaching me quite a lot about how to run, and how to play and chew logs. When out in the fields Thea often runs into me on purpose, so I have learnt to jump out of her way - she is quite a rascal and chases round and round and round the duck pond sometimes - Mum and Dad try to distract her, and she is getting better!

She wants to tell you her own story now:

Hi everyone - I'm Thea - and I have bounced my way into this lovely home with Jayla (wise lady) and the two oldies. I love Otto the best, and try to get a bit sassy with him at times - it never lasts long as Mum says he is an old man now, and doesn't always want to play...... but we do get along pretty well.

Just like Jayla I do find doors and gates pretty challenging, but Mum says I am getting better, and it doesn't take me ten minutes to rush through the dreaded gate anymore!

I escaped out of the big field one day - there were so many pheasants.. pheasants everywhere, and one jumped the fence, so I thought I could fly too - but I ended up in a scary place.... a big rubbish truck came along the lane - he was very kind and gentle though, and he was soon able to go on his way......then hours later, probably about 5 minutes, Mum came along the lane and called me - I was so pleased to see her and bounded up to her and back into the big field. I don't know why Mum couldn't jump the fence with me though!! But I have never 'escaped' since, and I don't chase the ducks nearly as much as Jayla says I do!!! I only run round the pond about five times!!! The silly ducks just sit there!

Anyway, I am off to sleep on the sofa now with Jayla, or Otto, or someone who would like some company. Night night all!!
