The demand for puppies throughout lockdown has continued to rise, leading to more cases of puppy scams and increasing numbers of poorly bred puppies being sold to unwitting buyers. 💔 This International Puppy Day, we’re asking our community to follow and share our tips to help potential puppy purchasers avoid the same pitfalls.

Neutering dose more than just stop breeding it can protect your beautiful boys from FIV and darling girls from pyrexia and both from cancers. The Havering branch area is covered by C4 The London Cat Care & Control Consortium if you need help with the cost, dogs trust assist some breeds of dog, but spending on preventive care will save you money and heart break in the future.

🐾 Did you know that 800,000 cats within the UK are NOT neutered?

🐾 Did you know that cats can get pregant at the earliest age of 4 months old?

🐾 Did you know that 70% of owners stated that their cat litters were unplanned?

Tomorrow is World Spay Day and we need YOUR help in spreading the word about the importance of neutering your pets 🐈

Spaying can provide a number of benefits to your cat such as:

✔Preventing your cat going into heat
✔Reducing the risk of cancers such as ovarian cancer
✔reducing the risk of contracting uterine infections

Pet insurance is essential for all pet owners especially if you may struggle to find money in an emergency, insurance is the lifeline to ensure your pet quickly gets the treatment needed.
If your pet is sick please phone your vet immediately their phone lines are open and all have been working hard all year to adapt and keep pets well.

We're passionate about animals and we know how much vet fees can cost. This is why we recommend that people take out pet insurance for their fury family members. Vet treatment can often cost hundreds of pounds and it's not surprising that some pet owners struggle to afford unplanned treatment if the...

Foxes are intelligent and beautiful creatures who are part of our city but if you really can't share your garden now is the time to take action before you find a litter of pups under the decking in spring, where they will be staying for the season. Humane Fox Deterrence might be termed “The Thinking Man’s Pest Control”. Rather than simply blast something away with a gun, as old fashioned ‘pest controllers’ continue to do, thereby creating, at best, a very temporary solution to a problem, fox deterrence utilises a knowledge of fox psy...

With all the changes recently we are looking for more cat foster homes
Would you love you have a cat but are worried about committing long term?
Maybe you live in a flat and found most cats need to be able to live outside?
Would you like to do something amazing to help animals in need?
You could be purr-fect for short and long term cat fostering with Essex, Havering and Harrold Hill RSPCA.

Before they can be rehomed our cats often need a few weeks to learn people are kind and friendly and the world isn't such a scary place after all.

A few months and medication to recover from an injury, stabilize a condition or become strong enough for an operation.

Fostering is flexible and we cover all vet costs in return you get to help many cats find their forever homes.

You will only foster one group of cats at the same time (1 single or 1 bonded pair or 1 mum and her kittens).
You can still foster if you do or do not have a garden.
You can still foster whether you are in or out all day
You can still foster if you have children – but they must be appreciative of cats.
You do need to live near the branch area and preferable have transport have no other pets, if you do you will need a large section as a foster space.

You might be thinking of some furry company right now and seeing fluffy Easter bunnies but it is really important to think carefully before getting any pet to make sure you can care for them long term - it's your legal responsibility.

🐰🐰 Rabbits are most popular over Easter time but please think twice before buying/adopting. Rabbits have very complex needs and a lot of rabbits prefer to interact with each other rather than their humans. As prey species, some of them also don’t like being picked up or cuddled either: https://bit.ly/2XfxmAl

You might be thinking of some furry company right now and seeing fluffy Easter bunnies but it is really important to think carefully before getting any pet to make sure you can care for them long term - it's your legal responsibility.

With most people in lockdown, some are considering getting a new furry family member 🐶🏡 But rehoming a puppy or buying one from a reputable breeder is sadly unlikely right now, and getting one at any time needs serious thought and research: https://bit.ly/2UNvUU2

4 ways to make your cat look more active, of course real exercise is important for us and our furry friends, so if your cat is in training for Olympic levels of laziness try some of these tips too. 1. Find those stick toys and draw out that natural instant to hunt, occupying the mind and wiggling the body. 2. Make them work for their treats - treats aren't bad when given as a reward they are a brilliant motivator (just remember to swap out the calories at meal times). Place them at different levels to encourage your cat to jump, climb and weave around the house. 3. Did you know you can clicker train your cat? With a bit of patience they will soon run rings around any dancing dog, perfect for occupying the over- and underactive. 4. Stretch out meal times, make your own toy feeders by placing food inside sealed boxes and tubes, cutting some slits big enough for the biscuit to fall out when moved or batted with a paw.
