A Very Merry Christmas to all of my amazing customers. It's been an extremely busy time but I've loved seeing all of my furry and non furry friends!
You are all such good boys and girls and I'm sure Santa Paws will bring you lots of treats and toys.

I've been so behind with posting photos of recent grooms, I've just been so busy I keep forgetting 🤣
But here is a transformation I just had to share with you all. This beautiful golden doodle was so well behaved and I had so much fun giving her a brand new look.
Today I couldn't be prouder of Dapper and myself. I've had an eventful week, minor injuries on Wednesday, carpal tunnel steroid injections on Thursday, but today we managed to get ourselves down to Colchester to compete in my second competition and Dapper's very first!! We were at Salon Groomer.of the year and had a fantastic day.
I couldn't be prouder of him, while we didn't place, he behaved himself impeccably and was so good on and off the table. And for 10 months old, he was so patient, so calm and so happy all day.
Thank you to all of my family, friends and customers for your continued support. Now off to bed, ready for work tomorrow 😊😊

CHRISTMAS!!
There, I've said it.
Yes, in grooming terms, Christmas is just around the corner and now is the time to be thinking about getting that December/Christmas groom booked in. I know it's something that you don't want to think about yet, and we are all still holding on to summer, but my diary gets really busy, really quickly, the closer we get to Christmas and I while I do my best, I don't want any of my lovely customers to miss out by leaving it too late.
To sweeten the deal, if you get your Christmas groom booked by the end of October, I'll enter you in a raffle to win an A4 pet portrait, done in watercolour by me.
As some of my lovely customers already know we have a new addition to the family!! This is Dapper and I'm so excited to see him grow and also see how his coat develops and what styles he can have. The ultimate goal would be to take him to grooming competitions and help spread the word about the business
Dapper is a cocker schnoodle and his mum is another one of my favourites to groom, you may have seen her, she is the white schnoodle who has been to competition with me.
What a transformation for this handsome little gentleman!! He's so good on the table, never makes a fuss and is just adorable before and after 😍
During the hot weather, I am happy to still come and pamper your pups. Please try not to walk your dog before their groom as this can cause them to over heat.
If the heat does start to stress your pup out, I will stop the groom. If I cannot finish them due to the heat, I will happily book them in again when it is a bit cooler to finish the groom.

It's been busy, busy, busy over at Dapper Dogs Dog Grooming, I keep forgetting to post photos!
But here is one of my favourite girls, having her first full groom since the competition as she was busy having puppies!!! How adorable are they! The pups also has thier very first nail trims today!
This beautiful girl steals my heart every time I see her. Such soulful eyes and so relaxed on the table 🥰🥰
I can't quite believe it but this month marks a very special time! It's my one year anniversary of being in Business, and what a year its been.
I want to say thank you to all of my lovely customers, thank you for trusting me with your pups and making my first year such a success! Without you, I wouldn't be where I am today. I cannot wait to continue to grow as a business and as a groomer, and I'm so excited to share this journey with you all.
From the start last May, to being able to groom more and more each month when my daughter started school, to now where I can leave my part time retail job (only 3 weeks to go) and groom full time, it's been a whirlwind ride and one I definitely don't want to get off any time soon.
In fact, from June I will be adding dog walking to the list of services and will be doing special walk and wash packages. I'm also able to expand the teeth cleaning side and widen the availability for all grooming services. I already have in mind a vision for the future, and I'm so excited to get working towards the next steps.
I'd also like to take a moment to say thank you to my family and friends for thier support, especially to my husband, who some of you have met as my lovely assistant, and to my parents and inlaws for thier support with childcare while I worked two jobs and tried to balance everything. And finally my daughter for putting up with mummy being here, there and everywhere for the past year. It'll settle down soon, I promise.
So, thank you all again for your continued support and custom, it really does mean the world to me. I'm so privileged to work with such amazing dogs, there are so many I would have liked to have featured on here but just not enough room for them all.
A couple of days ago Meeps and I, along with.my husband and a couple of Meeps's human siblings, got up very early and made the trip over to our very first grooming competition. While we didn't place anywhere, we definitely enjoyed ourselves, Colin Taylor even said how well I handled Meeps and that I was very patient with her when she decided her back legs were off limits 😀
And we very much enjoyed our pub lunch afterwards too 😁😁

It is so very important to start early, also the groomer/dog relationship will be a more united one if you introduce them as soon as possible.
Please do not leave these poor dogs to get matted and dislike something that is important for them for the rest of their lives. It may seem like its just hair, but that hair needs to be cared for to help skin health.

Did you know its not just the double coated breeds that shed, many mixed breeds do too. Those who are mixed with curly coats may not look like they shed alot, but the dead undercoat can get stuck and cause knots and tangles.

Phew, it's definitely been a transformation Thursday!
First an adorable yorkie who had a lovely hand scissored trim all over and then one of my lovely cavapoos who definitely needed a new spring style 🥰🥰
Then back home to my two buns who are in the middle of shedding season. What a lot of fluff from one bunny 🐰
