After a short session Kermitt went over the A-frame on its lowest setting. Hes definitely getting used to the target stick now and he knows that following it = good treats!

Kermitt is starting work on the A-frame now. He showed some interest in this piece on day 1, so I'm working with his confidence on walking across it flat. It's always best to build up the behaviours slowly. Once he starts to become more confident i'll slowly raise the A-frame in increments with the chain and hook system

Day 4 for Kermit, following. Kermit has started to follow the target stick for longer distances now. I'm being careful not to rush this step and make sure the distances & speed are not too big for him. This is the start of training him to follow the stick, which I will later shape into longer stretches before rewarding.

Kermit surveying his new kingdom! He's very intrigued by the course. It's important to make it distraction-free. As we begin to work on individual obstacles, we will remove the others, but for now, he's just getting used to the new training environment

Day 3 of training for Kermit. We had a short session today, working on him following the target stick. Slowly moving the stick right in front of his face to keep his attention focused

Day 2 of training for Kermit is all about exploring. He is learning to become comfortable with the new training environment and obstacles. I've been gently rewarding him in the area, so he builds up a positive association.

Learn to walk before you can run! wise words that apply to learning agility too. We designed all our kits to become progressively harder as your rats gain in confidence. Check out our weave poles as an example, the poles can start off very far apart to make it easy to run through, then you can move them closer in increments and before you know it your little one will be flying through them!
