Hello everypawdy! Remember me? I 've been very quiet recently cause there's been so much happening. This is a long one so sit back and put your paws up. Last you heard from me I was with my fabulous foster pawrents Lou and George having great fun in their wonderful big garden with my foster siblings.
One day foster Mum told me that it was a special day as I was to go to my forever home! Wasn't really sure what that meant but foster mum seemed happy (and a bit 😢 did I detect?) so I just went with it. We had visitors called Wendy and Tom with their dog Phoenix - wasn't sure about him, he seemed more interested in the 🐦 than me. When it came to time for the visitors to leave, they scooped me up and put me in their car and we went for a long drive to somewhere called Scotland 🏴
Was a bit confused as I'd loved it at my foster home but I had a new house and garden to explore and Phoenix - he seemed to warm to me - to play with. After a few days I, got worried. I decided I loved it here to and I didn't want to move again or share it - especially my Mum - with anyone, not even fun Phoenix. I tried to tell him to stay away from MY Mum as she was mine, he was upset but I was confused and didn't care, I wanted everything for myself.
Mum was upset but she was kind to me, she gently but firmly explained that I was safe and home forever but that I had to share everything with Phoenix, there was plenty of everything - including her love - to go round.
There were lots of rules put in place, things I wasn't allowed to do or places I wasn't allowed to go. To my surprise I still had everything important, nice meals, lots of cuddles, walks - and even though Phoenix was getting them to I wasn't missing out! Mum and Dad even played little fun games with me and I got food as a reward!
Things were going really well and I was about to update you all when something bad happened. Mum has two packs of treats she keeps in the bedside drawer and she eats one from each packet each morning then puts them back in the drawer. One morning she ate them, put one packet back in the drawer and left the other one out. Surely that was for me?!? When she went to the shower I nipped up and grabbed the packet. I had a right good chew at two or three of the sweeties but they were a bit bitter so I left it there.....
When Mum came out of the shower she just looked at the packet and said "oh! no!no!no! Roonagh, what have you done?!!!" I was bundled in the car and taken to see a nice vet lady. She examined me and said I'd have to stay with her for a while. I was there all day and they put black yeughy stuff down my throat and hooked me up to some funny machines. I felt a bit poorly for some of the time so I didn't mind as I got lots of fuss. I got home that night and I was made to stay quiet in my bed for two whole days!!! So I was far to traumatised to give you all a pupdate.
I'm back to normaI now (Mum just did this 🙄)think I've got my paws firmly under the table, the rules are starting to ease and things are going well. Mum says there are still improvements to come but she says I'm loads better and getting better every day.
Think I'm finally and forever home. Love Roonagh 🐾🐾
