Never Too Old For A New Career
Alot of the people I speak to are over 50, bored of their previous role and feeling like its their time to do something they love
We do not have an upper age limit
I know in the work place there is a lot of age discrimination, but we seem to be the opposite end where we attract people over 50
25 is the youngest we can accept due to insurance
But no upper age limit, as long as you are fit and healthy that's all that matters

Whose old enough to remember before big supermarkets took over, we just used to rely on our local shops?
We had a great parade of shops on our estate; butcher, green grocer, news agent, post office, grocery store, chemists, DIY store
Every time you went in you always saw the same person, and they'd ask how you are, how your parents/grandparents were
You'd have a little chat about families and life and leave with a smile on your face feeling like you mattered to that business
Unlike today where you never see the same person twice, customer service is shocking and you're treated like just another customer no one cares about
But not in our world; we've stepped back in time. We see the same customers all the time, they get the same person every time, and you get to know each other and chat like old friends
It really is amazing to be a part of something so personal in the modern world of automation and big business

When did we start;
Pets 2 Places was founded in Milton Keynes in 2014 by me; Claire Harris
Who do we help;
Anyone with a pet and no transport
What else do we do;
We support customers whatever that looks like, our customer service is never about going above and beyond, its about this is what good old fashioned customer service looks like

Alot of our business is repeat business so you get to see the same people and pets all the time, which means they become friends not just customers

Pretty much who they are as people, is who I am as a person and the foundations I built my business on
Whilst outwardly we are a pet taxi (that's a taxi that takes pets if you've not heard of it before)
We are also in the business of helping pets and people, just by being kind, caring and good honest people
This is why when we look for franchisees, that's who we look for; people who share our ethos

I had a chat yesterday with a 74 year old with no plans to retire (retiring is for boring people) about joining Pets 2 Places
When I say there's no upper age limit I'm not kidding
As long as you are fit and able, that's all that matters

Why cant pets use regular taxis?
The regular taxis are very hit and miss when it comes to taking pets
Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont
When they do, its again hit and miss
Some will be very grumpy, rude and outright mean about pets
Others whilst may allow pets, dont have the legally required equipment to transport pets
And lets forget its unlikely they are insured to take pets
Whilst outwardly it seems like transporting pets is easy

I Quit We've been looking at our initial email sequence this week and reviewing the content One of the things I always say is exactly what I said in this video I truly loved my role running the pet taxi and its why I didn't want to quit and change my role to franchisor It was a very hard decision and a VERY long time coming I know I should of quit at least 2 years before I did But what we do here is so truly heartwarming and rewarding, why would I want to give that up! We've been collecting the details of everyone who has called to use the service and have built up a databse of over 600 people across the UK When someone starts in that area, we pass on details of the potential customers for the franchisee to contact In some areas we have a lot of custoemrs and in others maybe only 1 or 2 Saying that in Solihull we had 12 customers in our database and none of them used the servcie in the 18 months it was running there Still Nic our franchisee there earned her full franchise fee back in just 6 months So having people already waiting or not is not going to affect the ability to grow a succesful business Interested to find out more?
