Polly had a covercote clip. The covercote baldes are perfect for those who want their horses clipped but have pink skin. No one wants to get sunburn, do they 😖
We were getting quite a bit of sun recently ☀️ Where's it gone 🤔
I am fully qualified in sports and rehabilitation massage. I clip and groom

Dinky is such a cute that she had a full clip it's just too hot for her to jeep her coat.
I have some availability next week if anyone's horses are desperate.
Also, did you know I am a fully certified sports massage therapist, so if you feel your horse could do with a once over to help keep their muscles supple message me 💪🐎🐴
If anyone has any photos from the horse I've clipped this week, please could you send me some.
It's been a busy week, and I've forgot to take any pictures 🫠😂
The beautiful Bonnie had a hunter clip 🥰😍
Bill looks so smartfully clipped out 🥰😍
I am having a few days away with my lovely family. Hope everyone is enjoying the summer ☀️ 😀
Dinky is so adorable, look at how much hair came off her 😳🥰💛💜💙
Progress does not always follow a straight line. When I first met Guiness, he would not let me near him with the clippers, and after a while, he slowly realised I was not going to hurt him and allowed me to clip him. We have worked up to doing a full clip, but last time I was there, he just was not feeling it. So, I managed a hunter clip to keep him cool.
He has the thickest coat and sweats up a lot. I will always work with the horse and do as much as they are comfortable with, especially when they are nervous 🥰
On Monday, I had the privilege of treating Jasper to a sports massage. 😎
His owner wanted me to check him over as he has been a little off recently, I found some tight areas that needed releasing. He responded really well and was a lot more relaxed when I had finished 🙂
I've now got some covercoat blades. These will leave 5mm if hair as opposed to the regular medium blades that leave 3mm of hair.
I can blend too, so if you want a more natural not so clipped look, I can do that for you.
I've got some covercoat blades, they are prefect for any one wanting to clip but they do not want their horses coat too short, to either protect them from the sun, or for a more natural look and blended legs are no problem 😊

A full clip for Kiera, with hearts on her hindquarters 💛💚💙
Milly had a hunter clip, she had alot of hair, it's crazy how these cobs are keeping their coats at the minute.
I can fully blend legs in of you are wanting the more natural look 🙂
Ronnie had a hunter clip to help keep him cool for the warm weather,
I do have some availability for the middle of July if any one wants an appointment 🥰
Fizz looks very happy after her full clip to help keep her cool in those temperatures we were having, fingers crossed we get the nice weather back and not this dull weather we have today 🥰
OK, why on earth would 'nope' be a suggested response to someone asking for a clip 🤔🤨😅
How gorgeous is Dallas, he's such a cheeky chap. He also had a ❤️ on his hindquarter 🤩
Today I met the wonderful Pablo. He's was a star 🌟 he was fully clipped with a ❤️ left on his hindquarters 🥰
This certainly means it's been a good day 🤩
Paddy enjoying some grass after his full clip 😍
The gorgeous Star had a hunter clip, plus she was even treated to a massage, I am gutted. I did not get a before picture as the base of her neck was very tight.
When I was finished, she had much more definition between her neck and shoulder.
Standing back and just assessing our horses gives us a good understanding of how they are going whilst ridden
Carrot stretches are passive stretches that can be performed by the owner.
Doing side Carrot stretches to different points, i.e., to their belly, to their hip or too their fetlock will all impact different muscles in the neck.
Do you always do carrot stretches to the same area?
On first inspection, Suzie looks well, but on closer inspection, she's got Itchy lumps under her skin on her neck. I'm not sure what's caused it but I will be keeping a close eye on her. I think she'll need a few antihistamines to calm the irritation.
Just goes to show that grooming is so important to make sure our horses are well as well as it being a great bonding tool 🥰
Something for yout to look out for when your looking at your horses 🐎
Neck Extension
This is a great stretch for stimulating the core muscles into action as the horse leans and reaches forward.
This stretch should be done using a chain or rope across the door, as a stable door tends to be too high.
It is important to encourage the horse to keep their head around sternum level to achieve optimal stretch effect and correct back posture.
The top line back muscles are relaxed, allowing the back to come up slightly to reach forward.
The thoracic sling and abdominal muscles are stimulated as the horse reaches forward.
Do you do carrot stretches with your horse?
These are great stretches for owners to do inbetween massage sessions.
They should only be done on horses that are warmed up.
*Begin slowly,
* Try to get your horse to hold the stretch for 5-15 seconds,
* Allow them to relax the muscle before trying again a second time - this time see if you can get them to stretch a little further.
Feel free to message me for a chat about booking your horse in for a massage. All horses benefit from regular body work.
Fully qualified and insured 😎
For some horses it's takes a few minutes to get a nice picture, here's John's mini photo shot, just for me to go through my view in motion pictures to get the decent last two pictures.
He had a full clip ready for him to go eventing again this year, this little superstar really does fly 🌟

Millie relaxing and releasing tension during her neck massage. You can see how relaxed she is by the expression on her face, the slow blinking, lacking, and chewing 🥰
How often do you feel your horses back muscles? This back muscle I am checking is the Longissimus Dorsi. It's the largest muscle of the horses back. The saddle sits here. With it being just under the surface, it's the easiest to feel to detect any issues. As you can see here with Millie, her back is lovely and supple there's no tension, pain reaction or muscle fasciculatuon. This is how we like the muscles to respond, they are soft supple and spring back in to place when my fingers move over them. If you would like your horse checking over feel free to message me. I am a fully qualified and insured sports and rehabilitation massage therapist 🐎🐴
Regularly watching your horse move will give you a good indication of when there is a problem. It also gives us massage therapists a good indication of which muscles need the most work 🐎
In the first part of this video you can see I am asking Suzie to do a back lift by applying pressure to her belly, we really don't get a great response from this. So the second part of the video is me getting Suzie to do a carrot stretch between her front legs, on this one you can really see the lift in her back. Just goes to show no every way works for every horse
