Having began riding at the age of 4 my love for all things horsey seemed to set off on a path that has never ended. From the very moment I sat on little Smartie (the first pony I ever rode) at our local riding school I haven't been able to get off a horse.
My passion for producing horses came when I was around 8, I had always had ponies on loan at our local riding school and loved going 3 or 4 times a week to have lessons, compete, or just play around with all the friends I made whilst I was there. It wasn't until I was offered the ride on some young Welsh ponies that I ever really knew what producing meant.
Grayfield stud soon became a huge part of my life with breaking and producing ponies taking over my life. This was a huge learning curve for me, having to adapt my riding to each different pony and their needs. From working hunters to showing and in-hand classes, we travelled the country, competing in a large number of different county shows and local shows, allowing my ring experience to develop and also giving me the chance to pick up some good tips from some good friends along the way.
After moving from showing and working hunters my interest developed into show jumping, with a fiery, forward thinking mare I was away and enjoying myself. Having had this pony when she was young her flat work was not very established but her genuine and honest attitude helped us to many wins and qualifications. With some hard work and dedication her flat work went from strength to strength, with her eventually being long listed for the Pony Europeans with her next jockey.
