🐾Tuesday treats and tips 🐾

🐾 We love a lick bowl and Mat, so good to get our pups entertained or distracted!

🐾 So what do you use?

🐾 The parcels4paws team have a variety in there’s, this weekend they had
🐶 yogurt
🐶 Kibble
🐶 hot dogs
🐶 a splash of manuka honey
🐶 chicken broth

🐾 We poured this in and then froze! A lovely cold treat while we popped out, even better on a hot day! And kept them entertained for a little while!

🐾Behind the scenes🐾

🐾 Maia is a nearly 3yr old Gsd x Husky rescue girlie! Who we welcomed to our family in July 2020! Maia is full of cheekiness and so much love! I’m sure she doesn’t know how big she is now, that she doesn’t quite fit on our laps anymore!

🐾 Me- Kirsty! A huge animal lover first and foremost! I also work within the veterinary industry, my purpose in life to help make every 4 legged friends life as good as possible! I’ve also volunteered for local rescues! Parcels4paws was inspired by my love of animals and trying to make the world a kinder place for our dogs who we couldn’t be without! It was launched during a challenging time of covid and we are on a mission to grow and welcome more dogs into our parcels4paws pack!

🐾 Margo- my loyal best friend, another rescue girl who had the worst start to life like Maia, she’s now the premium age of 7 and half, and is not slowing up yet! A complete sassy teddy bear despite her looks, and has been there though every high and low I’ve been though! I don’t know what I’d do without either girl!

🐾 We research what we include in our boxes, we ensure the quality of the toys and accessories are at the highest quality and if we wouldn’t buy it ourselves or the girls wouldn’t eat it! It doesn’t go in our boxes!

🐕‍🦺Do you feed your dog an omega 3 supplement or it’s included in your feed but wondered why it’s seen as just brilliant for your dogs?

🐾Omega 3 is a group of essential fatty acids , that is widely renowned for its anti-inflammatory properties!

🐾 Studies have shown it can help improve gut health, improve and support symptoms of osteoarthritis and reduce aging effects on the brain of elderly dogs!

🐾 We think it’s pretty awesome to help support our dogs from the inside out!

🐾 Some treats that are high in omega 3 are normally fish based, as this is the most practical way to include Omega 3 in their diets! Or look at salmon oil as another alternative way! The Chief testers here at Parcels4paws HQ have salmon oil in their breakfast every day!

🐾Do you hand feed your dogs there meals and treats?

🐾 Did you know you could use hand feeding to help with training your beloved pup?

🐾 Some dogs take easier to hand feeding than others. If your dog doesn’t want to eat from your hand try again later (dogs won’t starve themselves).

🐾 If you may want to entice your dog to eat from your hand by asking them to sit first. Some dogs prefer earning treats more than having them handed out for free.

🐾Hand feeding can really benefit in buildings strong bonds between you and your dog.

🐾It can slow down quick feeders but also help build trust with those nervous more shy dogs too!

🐾 It can be messy, unless your feeding kibble, but be sure to not over feed! Measure the amount of food you would normally feed them and stick to that!

🐾Something a little exotic for our 4 legged friends! Ostrich straws are actually Ostrich trachea!

🐾 High lean protein and extremely low in fat! Great chew for any dog!

🐾Being air dried to maintain their goodness also means they are low odour and non greasy!
