Last year you counted a whopping 9.1 million birds! House Sparrows took the top spot, but counts of these chirpy birds are down by 57% compared to the first Birdwatch in 1979. In fact, we’ve lost 38 million birds from UK skies in the last 60 years.

With birds facing so many challenges, it’s more important than ever to get involved in the Birdwatch. Every bird you do (or don’t) count will give us a valuable insight into how our garden birds are faring.

Ever wondered why it seems like you only see Robins in winter?

This is in part because the Robin is actually a migratory species. So, we tend to see a lot more of them in the colder months when they flock over from Scandinavia, where food is scarce, to join our local robins.

We are seeking a great people-person and very capable birdwatcher, with experience of helping others to improve their birdwatching skills.

🗺️ Location: Thetford, Norfolk. We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements during interviews.

📅 Contract: Full time, 2 year post.

💰 Salary: £23,328 rising to £24,624 after 1 year + 11% employer pension contribution.
