**Dog Walking**
We all love our dogs and enjoy walking them, but often life and work just gets in the way and there isn’t the time to give them a good run out, whether you’re still going to the office or working from home. Hire us to include your darling dog in our pack, so we can roam and sniff and play; ensuring you of a pooped pooch when we drop them home, clean and dry.
**Dog Grooming**
How

about treating them (and you) to a 'spa treatment'. We can wash and blow dry them, so they are fresh and floofy for their return home!
**Doggy Day Care/Boarding**
As well as regular daily walks, our customers also leave their darling dogs with us for daycare and boarding. We treat your pooches as if they were our own and welcome them into our home (and sofa and bed, if that's where they are happy!). So if you need to go out for a full day, we can pick up, walk and hang with your dog in our home. Treat yourself to a day out, safe in the knowledge that your dog is being looked after, and you don’t have to rush back.
**Pet Taxi**
If you don’t have your own my transport but need to get somewhere with your dog, we are happy to take you. Your dog will be safely secured in the car. Price on application.
**Covid Safe**
We use our own leads and collars for dog walks. Hands are washed/sprayed before entering your premises to collect / return your dog. The car is sprayed down with disinfectant spray before and after every walk. All common areas of the house are cleaned at the end of the day.

I shared this last year, but still just as useful! 👇

You can lead a ‘dog’ to water….

Constantly bombarded with reminders of the worries this hot weather brings and several people have mentioned how their dogs don’t seem to be drinking any more and how hot they are even in the shade or indoors. Well this tip was passed on to me and it was tested with Walter & Eccles and it works like a dream!

The recipe is from an Indian Homeopath to encourage healthy rehydration and it is so easy.

4 tbsp Natural Live Yoghurt
500ml Cool Water

Simply mix together and put in your dogs bowl.

We tried this after having put down fresh cool water and no interest being shown - 30 seconds later and all 500ml gone! So we are doing it every day to ensure they stay hydrated.

You can also add a teaspoon of honey if your dog seems lethargic.

If you’re at all worried though please call your vet.

If you try it please let us know what you think.

Really useful advice from Heather at Kingston K9s

Understanding the ingredients in your dog's food is a vital part of choosing the right food. One group of ingredients to keep an eye out for are so called 'fillers'. These are inexpensive ingredients that are added to increase the volume of dog food but provide little nutritional value for your dog....

16/06/2022

The UK is set for a heat of up to 34c degrees tomorrow in the South East – making it warmer than some of the Greek Islands, LA and parts of Barbados it was reported yesterday.

What can you do to keep your dog cool and comfortable and avoid the risk of heatstroke, a very serious illness which can be fatal?

Overheating during exercise is the most common cause of heatstroke in dogs, but in some circumstances, it can even develop when a dog simply sits in the heat for too long.

DO
✅ Exercise early, late or not at all. Walk them in shady areas with water they can cool off in
✅ Pop a wet towel on the floor for them to lie on.
✅ Give them a cool mat or a cooling coat or bandana to wear. (make sure they stay wet).
✅ Get a shallow paddling pool for them to cool off in.
✅ Keep them in the shade and out of direct sunlight.
✅ Keep them hydrated.
✅ Groom them – make sure you’ve got rid of any dead excess hair and matts.

DON’T
❌ Walk them on hot pavements which can burn their paws. If it’s too hot for your bare feet, it’s too hot for them.
❌ Throw balls or engage in activities which are likely to over exert your dog. Your dog won’t know when they’re too hot.
❌ Allow your dog to ingest large quantities of water (for example from a garden hose) very quickly as this can cause water intoxication, a potentially fatal condition.

If you think your dog has heatstroke call your vet straight away.
See the attached pic for further info.
Stay cool everyone!
