Amigo and Tomo have enjoyed a few walks with me over the past couple of weeks and months. We even bumped into at the park with which was a great chance for the boys to show off their great behaviour around other dogs. They were interested in Hazel but we're polite and curious. And we had no barking something that they used to previously do. It was nice for Val to see them as she worked with them a little while ago... They were definitely pleased to see her! Hazel got to practise her handler focus too so we all had a good time practising our training at the park.

This very cute, very ginger new face is Peanut! He's joined the ABC crew for some adhoc walks and drop ins here and there. We happen to live exceptionally close by each other, so it's super handy to offer an adhoc service to this loving boy. He's very easy going and always up for a walk no matter the weather (seriously... Those biblical rains the other week... No issue!) I'm looking forward to seeing more Peanut in the future and I hope you are too!

I said there was some other exciting news we'd been sitting on too... Well now the place had been confirmed I'm super excited to announce that I'm embarking on my Level 6 in Canine Behaviour! So in 18 months, if all goes according to plan, I will officially be a Certified Animal Behaviourist (Canine)!

I'm very excited that once I've completed the course with and I will legally be a behaviourist! The industry is totally unregulated which makes things complicated, so this degree level qualification will cement my skills and also the legality to practise as a behaviourist. Currently I practise with a Level 4 (distinction) as a 'Behaviour Consultant' because legally I can't say I'm a behaviourist even though I deal with behaviour cases along side regular dog training.

This particular Level 6 is heavily focused on practical skills and application of theory and science rather than focusing just on the book side of things. Whilst all the science, theory, and book knowledge is still covered, this particular OFQUAL regulated course focuses on making sure that book knowledge is applied in ways the get results with clients from day 1 after completion. (Although I'm pretty sure we're getting results with your dogs already, I'm hoping to pick up lots of new skills, techniques and approaches to bring to all the current behaviour programmes I offer!)

The journey won't stop there... There are then more practical assessments with acrediting bodies if I chose to undertake those too afterwards! But I need to focus on getting through the course first!

I will need demo dogs galore over the next 18 months so don't be surprised if you get a message from me asking to borrow your dog! 🐾❤️🎓📚

And need I add, all the teaching on the course is going to be force free and science based? 😎

I've been sitting on this one a little because I was waiting for the official photographs to be released...!

I'm thrilled and honoured to have won an award for with the .prestige.awards for 2025/26. I won the category 'Best Dog Behaviour Consultant in Bedfordshire' and had been close to also scooping up the overall 'Service Excellence' Award running up against all different companies across London and The Southeast (but you can only win one category boooo 😂).

The award means a great deal to me and my little independent business and I hope it proves to my current and also potential future clients that you can trust our service for ethical, compassionate, and effective dog care and behavioural services at ABC.

Two of my best friends, absolute ride or dies, came with me for support and to celebrate with me! Thank you for coming and 💙

We have ANOTHER big announcement coming soon too so keep an eye on this page!! 🎓📚👀

This stunning guy is Hudson (aka Hudsybear, Huds, Huddywuddy, Handsome Hudson!) he joined the ABC gang about a month ago and enjoys a weekly training walk plus some drop ins too. This mix of training and play time has meant we've built a strong bond very quickly. As you can see a little in the first video, Hudson has some biiiig feelings about other dogs, but (as you can see in the second video) he's slowly learning alternative behaviours. He's doing a great job of learning - he's a smart pup! - the next task is to help him manage his feelings when other dogs are a bit closer in proximity. But the fact we can walk past a dog on the other side of the road without a reaction in just a few training walks is massive win! His guardians are continuing the work so together as time goes on Hudson should learn to be as cool as a cucumber around other dogs 😎🥒

Hudson was being walked with a head collar when he joined the ABC gang and has learnt to walk nicely on a harness since, so the first picture in his lovely harness is his new get up 😉😍

Due to the ongoing heatwave, lots of walk slots have bexome drop in and play slots. Rover enjoyed a puzzle ball, and didn't enjoy the puzzle spinner which he decided to work smarter not garde and proceeded to just pick up and dump upside down to get the treats out 😂🙃 we then headed inside to make sure he was totally cool before I left him, and practised the cue I'm working with him on which is 'paws up!' onto an object rather than just jumping up onto it. He's really good with the footstall and chair, so I'm hoping to move it onto an arm soon.

I recently got to enjoy spending time with tribe for a one night dog sit. It was a very warm day so me and the boys spent a lot of time relaxing and keeping as cool as possible. That featured a splash in the pool, some frozen kongs and lots of drinks! I'm looking forward to seeing them again soon for some longer stays 🐾💙💙💙

Rupert was busy again helping out Monty who's just completed a behaviour programme with us to learn that other male dogs can be friends! Monty's sister Millie tagged along for some extra confidence and moral support. After some parallel walking, some swimming and chasing tennis balls, all three dogs were very happy to co exist and enjoyed sharing smells and space. Monty did brilliantly and didn't react once! We were joined by two vizlas in the pond and again Monty did brilliantly, no reactions, just swimming about all together. Fantastic work from Team Monty!

Rupert and I also took a trip to the Embankment, one of our favourite spots. A year ago when I first took him there he had me over on my bum because he pulled so hard towards the gesse and swans... How times have changed! We now enjoy a nice stroll and he's super receptive and engaged whilst he explores. 😍

Rupert got to do something a little different the other week and we met up with our friends at an enclosed field for a good run around! We caught the rain at the end but it was nice as it was humid. He had a pup cup on the way home as a little treat, and he was a good boy putting the cup in the bin at the end! Clever boy!
