JUST A REMINDER, TO ALL DOG OWNERS.

⚠️🚙⚠️ Despite the warnings, hundreds of dogs in the UK die every year after being left in a hot car. Someone you know may need to read this very important message. ⚠️🚙⚠️

SIX MINUTES is all it takes for a dog to overheat in a hot car.

Your dog could suffer serious injury or die in a matter of minutes if left alone in a car.

• The temperature inside a closed vehicle left in the sun can double within 12 minutes.

• At least 75% of the temperature increase in a closed vehicle occurs within 5 minutes of closing the vehicle, and at least 89% of the temperature increase occurs within 15 minutes of closing the vehicle.

• Temperatures exceeding 104˚ F can lead to death or serious injury for the occupants.

• Temperatures in a closed vehicle sitting in the hot sun can reach 160˚F and above. An animal will suffer immeasurably and may die before the temperature reaches 150˚F.

• Even when parked in the shade, the vehicle temperatures can exceed 104˚C.

• Leaving windows down more than 2 inches on an unattended vehicle will not prevent a car from reaching extreme temperatures.

• Even if the animal is revived, they can die due to severe internal organ damage.

Your dog trusts you to have their best interest at heart ALWAYS.
Please don’t risk their safety.

If you are not taking your dog inside your destination with you, PLEASE leave them at home where they are comfortable and safe.

‼️ With the hotter weather now finally coming through I wanted to put out a post about what I will be doing as my hot weather policy. All regular weekly clients should have received a message or will get one.
Please bear in mind these changes may be made with little to no notice (evening before / morning of walks) as the weather can be so unpredictable. For example if it’s only forecasted to be 20 degrees and this increases throughout the day / walk to 24+ then I will be taking all dogs home.

☀️ I will not be walking any dogs in temperatures 24 degrees Celsius and over under any circumstances, (23 is my max) safety always comes first. (Individual breeds may differ such as flat faced breeds, obese dogs, thicker coated dogs, if younger than 6 months or elderly). If at any point during the day this temperature is forecasted, I will be switching walks to GROUP WALKS ONLY between 8:00am - 10:00am. I may also shorten walks at any point if I find necessary. No walks will be taking place after 11:00am on these days, ONLY home visits (I will try to make these as fun as possible of course with enrichment 🥰)

🏡 When Temperatures do reach over 23 degrees and you are still wanting / needing a mid day service, I will be offering Home & garden visits instead. Please note that if your dog is normally in a group walk, it tends to be with 3 other dogs that may also need a visit around that time so I may have to adjust timings and/or shorten visits to fit everyone in.

🌳 I will only be walking in shaded areas 21 degrees plus that also have water available, no big open spaces.

💧I will be carrying more water than usual with me and this will be available to your pups at any point during any walk.

🏘️ If you will be at home during the day and not needing my services then please let me know as soon as possible so that I can plan my day accordingly.

🌙 I won’t be offering evening walks.
