RSPCA NE Lincolnshire We are the NorthEast Lincolnshire branch of RSPCA, supporting animals in need within the local area.

About RSPCA (England & Wales)
Unfortunately, we cannot accept reports about animals in need via social media. Please call our national cruelty line on 0300 1234 999 (8am-8pm, 7 days a week) and be prepared to give this information:
https://www.rspca.org.uk/utilities/contactus/reportcruelty/crueltychecklist

Read our FAQs for advice on commonly reported concerns:

To help us keep animal welfare at the top of the agenda, please don’t post any: ⁣
🔵 Violent, obscene, profane, hateful, or racist posts, links, or images⁣
🔵 Comments that threaten or defame any person or organisation⁣
🔵 Solicitations, advertisements, or endorsements of any financial, commercial or not-for-profit organisations⁣
🔵 Comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity⁣
🔵 Multiple successive off-topic or disruptive posts⁣
🔵 Repetitive posts, copied and pasted, or duplicated⁣
🔵 Posts containing specific details about cruelty cases (these should be reported to the cruelty line on 0300 1234 999, rather than posted here)⁣
🔵 Posts which we feel may potentially impact upon prosecutions. Where an investigation is considered ‘active’, any comments made about the case may mean someone facing charges might not be in a position to have a fair trial and the trial could collapse. ⁣
We reserve the right to hide any of these types of comments if they infringe our guidelines, and to block people sharing these comments if absolutely necessary.

We urge any XL bully owners to register now and to reach out to us if you have any questions about the process.

Reminder: XL Bully Exemption Deadline rapidly approaching ⌛

With the XL Bully ban coming into force on 1st February 2024, we're urging owners to apply for their Certificate of Exemption by 31st January 📆

Please don't wait for the outcome of the Judicial Reviews as the result is uncertain and your dog's life will be at risk without a valid certificate come 1st February. The last thing we want is for more innocent dogs to lose their lives because of this dreadful law.

Please share to help XL Bully owners find this information 🔁

A massive thank you to Pets at Home. With the Home lifeline vouchers, we have managed to purchase dog food and goodies. This will help the NE Linc's dogs, that are being boarded at our neighbouring Chesterfield branch.

Always lovely to receive updates from some of our rehomed animals:

Bob Cat (Tabby) is getting on great. He has settled in great and is a lovely, funny, very vocal boy.

Mini (Black) is doing absolutely fantastic, as you know her fur was badly affected from her fleas when she had an infection, which led to a lot of fur loss, however, it has made a brilliant recovery! She has pottered around in our back garden, however, she is more than content in our home playing and sleeping. She is a very loving and affectionate cat, and we give her all our love in return. She really has changed our lives for the better and we thank you dearly for choosing us to adopt her.

Today is the start of Pet Cancer Awareness Month and while it does not always mean that it is untreatable but sometimes it means we have to make a very difficult decision to say goodbye. Here is a great blog written by Sam Gaines the Head of Companion Animals for the RSPCA who has experienced this first hand and helps guide you through to know when to say goodbye.

🐶 🏡 Most of us would love to be with our dogs all the time if we could, but it's important for them to learn that it's okay to be without us. This National Relaxation Day, try introducing a dogsitter or having a friend or family member pop in when you're out. This can help ensure your pooch has company and doesn't feel alone. 🐶🥵 We continue to hear about animals struggling in the heat, particularly dogs walked at the hottest time of day and left in cars - both of which can be fatal. Please protect your pooches by leaving them at home and keeping them cool: https://bit.ly/2UmiEZm

Remember, if you see a dog in distress in a hot car, call 999, as police should be able to attend more quickly and can force entry, but we can't. 🚨📞🚗

On 1st August, new legislation to crack down on hare coursing comes into force, including tougher sentencing and improved powers for courts 🐰📜🙌 This is great for hares and for dogs involved in the 'sport' who end up in rescue centres due to injury or abandonment: https://bit.ly/3BxmKkb
