With Halloween just around the corner, I thought I’d share my Pup-kin Cookies with you lovely lot. Super quick to make, vegan and so moorish you’ll be tempted to take a bite (I definitely have) why don’t you give them a try 🎃

Ingredients:
100g oat flour, plus extra for dusting (blitz regular oats in a food processor)
100g fresh pumpkin, boiled & pureed
60g natural peanut butter (make sure there’s no xylitol in your peanut butter as it’s toxic to our furry friends. I use which is just peanuts and sea salt)

Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 180c (fan oven) and line a baking tray.
2. Add all of the ingredients together in a bowl and knead into a dough.
3. Lightly dust your work surface and rolling pin. Roll the dough out until it’s about 1/2cm thick.
4. With your cookie cutter, cut out your cookies until all the dough has gone and add to your baking tray. They don’t rise so you can place them close together but make sure they don’t touch.
5. Bake for 20mins or until golden in colour.
6. Allow them to cool before your pup gets their paws on them or store in airtight container for up to a week.

Is there anything cuter than watching our doggos bouncing through the long grass? However despite it being lots of fun, it can come with its disadvantages. Say hello to Foxtail grass 👋 (see images above)

These sharp seeds can pe*****te the skin and as a result can be very dangerous for our furry friends. ⚠️

To help your pal stay safe and healthy this summer here are some top tips:

1. Try to avoid overgrown areas and stick to paths or mown fields
2. After potential exposure check your pet thoroughly, paying particular attention to toes, ears, armpits, and groin area (also good to check for ticks 🤢)
3. If you try to remove it yourself, make sure you have the whole seed otherwise it will migrate through your dogs body. It’s best to visit the vet if you’re in doubt.
4. For our long-haired pals, use a comb to be more thorough

Indie’s top tip for the perfect beach wave is to scrap the beach and just roll in mud ✌️

As the weather is heating up and we’re excited to get outside, our furry friends might be feeling differently.

Here are some top tips on how to help them stay cool 😎

1. Encourage your pup to stay in shaded areas and out of direct sunlight.
2. Put down damp towels or invest in a Cooling Mat for them to rest on.
3. Fill a hot water bottle with cold water. You can also pop it in the freezer and when it’s frozen, wrap it in a towel and let them cuddle up to it. This is also a great tip for humans too!
4. Touch the pavement. If it feels hot to you then it’s definitely too hot for your doggo.
5. Time your walks. Take an early morning or late evening stroll. It should be much cooler and also less busy!

If in doubt, wait it out.
