🎉 Marvelous Microchips 🎉
This lovely very friendly tabby madam went missing on 25/5.
Her owners were extremely worried and started searching for her immediately.
On Friday 07/06, Italian Slice, on Lea Bridge Road posted on Facebook that they had a cat in their shop after she had jumped out of a delivery van. The cat had ran into traffic on the very busy road but stopped under a bus and then ran into their shop. She was scared and hiding inside but these lovely people left her food and water so she stayed with them for four days before venturing outside and going in to a neighbouring shop.
One of our volunteers saw the post at midnight and the next morning visited the shops where the cat had been seen. Luckily one of the shop owners came out and asked what she was looking for and was delighted as he had the cat safe inside.
Our volunteer scanned her and happily found a microchip and the owner was located an hour later. This gorgeous kitty was returned home to a very happy and grateful family. 😻
With some detective work from Tee Kay’s they managed to locate the van driver who advised them that she had jumped out of the van after a delivery to the street she went missing from. So unusually we know the story of what happened. It looks like she had hidden in the van in a pile of tyres for days without food or water. 😥
Luckily on this occasion the shops had fed and watered her after she jumped out of the van, but we always advise a vet check when missing cats return.
We are really pleased that this story has a happy ending only possible because of the power of a microchip. 😸
Microchipping became UK law on 10 June 2024. Please ensure your cat is microchipped and also neutered. 🙏
Neutering cats is the only way we can solve the UK cat crisis.
