Today is black cat appreciation day, black cats are always the last to be adopted 😢 considered by some to be unlucky and not photograph well. In reality black cats are gorgeous mini panthers, who bring great joy and happiness to your home. Please share your pictures of your gorgeous black cats. This is Clara, who along with her sister Chloe were adopted earlier this year, their owners clearly appreciate black cats.

Our gorgeous young mummy Clara who we have estimated as being approximately 18 months old has her vet appointment booked for Wednesday when she will be microchipped, neutered & vaccinated so she will be ready to start looking for her furever home.

Clara has been an amazing mummy to her 4 kittens but now it’s time to think about herself!! 🥰

Clara is a very gentle soul who will need a quiet home with a safe garden away from busy roads where she can enjoy lots of love and attention from her humans. 🙏

If you have a Clara shaped hole in your heart & home please contact us with your phone number & email address. ❤️

Homecheck & adoption fee required.

A big thank you to our volunteers Mark & Caz for trapping this gorgeous little family of mummy Milda & her 2 babies today. 🥰

This was especially important as poor Milda lost her last litter to foxes in April. 😥

Sadly Milda’s owner didn’t do the right thing and neuter her so she has been constantly having kittens over the past few years until a kind person alerted us to the situation.

When will people realise that taking on a cat is a huge responsibility and microchipping and neutering is part of the basic care that needs to be done?

The UK is in the midst of a horrific cat crisis and people are still allowing their cats to breed. 😔

This little family are very lucky and have been offered rescue space with a trusted rescue and mummy will be neutered once the kittens are old enough to be weaned. The kittens will be rehomed together and will also be neutered before being adopted to ensure that they will never have to go through unwanted pregnancies. 😻

🎉🐈 Amazing fundraising news 🐈 🎉

Queens Boundary Community is a group of neighbours from the streets in and around Queens & Boundary Roads in Walthamstow, E17. One of the areas of focus within their community work is using their network of street WhatsApp groups to look out for cats in their area. This has helped support stray cats and kittens in their area and also helped return many missing cats home over the years.

A fabulous team of volunteers & neighbours: Gillian, Tom, Lozza, Clem, Adelaide, Peter, Clare, Mark, Jane, Astrid, Lee, Al & Caz organised a huge jumble trail & plant stall to contribute towards covering the costs of stray cats and kittens neutered and/or rehomed in the 50+ streets in their community. Many more neighbours donated items and plants for sale.

What a day and what a team!! ❤

WFCP are extremely grateful for their support of our branch and also for their hard work to raise much needed funds to help our local cat population. 🙏😻❤️

Massive thanks to the neighbourhood volunteers, the people that donated items for sale and the shoppers who generously supported this stall on the day. 🥰

The items that didn’t sell were collected by MIND and will be sold benefitting another charity. A double charity bonus. ☺️

Altogether they have raised just over £2000. This is an amazing sum of money that will help us continue to support cats in Waltham Forest. £2000 will cover the costs of neutering, microchipping, flea & worm treatments for the 20 cats already assisted in their area in the first half of 2025 and the community knows there are many more cats in need.

We really do need all the help we can get from communities and streets in our area as it takes a community to care for our stray cats. If you or your neighbourhood would like to help fundraise please do get in touch and we can discuss how you can help us to help local cats in need. 🙏

Sadly, the UK is in the midst of a horrific Cat Crisis due to irresponsible owners not neutering their cats. The level of abandonment that we now see is at an all time high.

Every rescue is at breaking point and the situation is getting worse by the day!!

The ONLY way that we will ever improve this horrific situation is by NEUTERING.

PLEASE, PLEASE, NEUTER YOUR CATS & HELP US TO END THE CAT CRISIS. 🙏

WFCP were recently alerted to a mummy and kittens living in a garden and the kittens were at risk of being taken by foxes so we needed to act quickly.

Sadly due to irresponsible people not neutering their cats, this is a common occurrence and the UK’s cat crisis is getting worse by the day. 😩

All our fosterers were full but luckily one of our 2 cat pens had just been vacated when one of our ferals found a home on a stable yard so plans were made for them to come in to our care.

Mummy is quite nervous and the kittens at 6/7 weeks had never been handled so the whole family had to be trapped.

It’s imperative to trap the kittens first as mummy cat has to stay with the kittens to protect them from any danger.

On the first night we managed to catch 2 of the 4 kittens and then unfortunately mummy cat was spooked by us taking them so it took another couple of nail-biting days to build up her trust again before we could trap the remaining two.

Once all 4 kittens were safe, mummy cat was finally trapped the next morning and the little furry family were reunited. 🥰

We were very lucky that the lovely family who contacted us for help were extremely helpful in allowing us access to their garden and assisting with setting the traps and manning them. ❤️

The socialising is ongoing with the kittens and we are confident that with patience and time they will come round and become socialised friendly kittens.

Our volunteer fosterers work tirelessly to change the lives of these cats & kittens and we are always looking for new fosterers tCats Protection Waltham Foresttion Waltham Forestprovided plus all food, litter & vet bills are covered.

Please PM us to discuss if you are interested in finding out more about fostering or other volunteering roles with our branch. 😸
