We are a UK based volunteer team who are passionate about dog rescue. UK registered charity 1209645. Saving Souls Animal Rescue Registered Charity 1209645.

Our aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and help find homes for dogs in Shelters and Pounds across the Republic of Cyprus. All our dogs are neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped before being rehomed. Most of our dogs are in Cyprus but are looking for homes in the UK. We have a small number of dogs in foster in the UK. You can view all the dogs we have available on our website here:

Adoption fee is around £650, this includes travel to the UK and preparation for adoption: neutering, vaccinations, blood tests and health check, pet passport and micro chip. You can complete a Foster application form via our website here:

ALFIE 🥹🥹🥹

How has no one fallen for this stunning, wolf-like beauty yet?

Alfie isn’t just a pretty face – he’s a gentle soul with so much love to give. He was rescued from the buffer zone along with his siblings, but while his brother Alvin and sister Ada have already found their happily ever afters, Alfie and his sweet sister Amber are still waiting... still hoping.

Alfie has been with us since December 2024. That’s months of watching others leave for warm beds, kind voices, and forever arms to curl into. While he’s safe and cared for here, what he truly deserves is a family of his own. A home where he’s not just another dog in a shelter, but someone’s beloved companion.

Alfie is around 1 year old (DOB estimated 15/09/24), medium-sized (about 19kg), and growing into a beautiful, kind-hearted boy. He is playful, affectionate, and loves to hold your hand like he never wants to let go. He’s always ready for cuddles and already knows how to sit for treats – just one of many ways he tries to win hearts.

He absolutely adores people and would thrive in a home where he’s cherished. He gets along well with other dogs and, with the right introduction, can learn to live peacefully with cats too.

Alfie is ready. He’s been ready. He’s just waiting for someone to choose him.

Happy Gotcha Day my absolute beauty Sofia 🥰🥰🥰

A year ago today we were off to meet the lovely Anna Cleland of SuperDogs. She had collected Sofia off a direct flight into Gatwick (yes Sofia was a VID as we rarely use direct flights).

I had decided on Sofia after much deliberation. I wanted to adopt a dog I had personally asked a shelter to take in when I heard her desperate plight, because then I could go full circle and give that dog a home. Sofia seemed to be stuck at the shelter with a few of her puppies and I was worried that she’d never find a home, so I decided she would come to me.

As always I was quite apprehensive when we went off to collect her. When I met her I just thought what a tiny dog (she was compared to my old girl Lucy) so her first nickname was Scrap, as she was just a scrap of a dog.

Poor Sofia had quite a task to heal my shattered heart after losing Lucy, but slowly and steadily she has helped piece some of it back together.

It’s fair to say that everyone who meets Sofia falls in love with her. She’s such a dream dog. She runs with me every day, mostly because she cannot go off lead because she follows her nose.
She’s become quite a foster mum to dogs coming into her home, some of them have been her own puppies. She’s a cheeky girl with her own quirks but she is well and truly part of the family and I can’t believe it’s just been 1 year.

Dear friends if you're thinking of getting into animal rescue, here's something you need to know:

You need to build armor, not just for the hard work, but for the people.

You’ll need more than compassion. You’ll need resilience. You’ll need to remind yourself daily why you started, because the world will test you.

People will cheer you on when you post a happy rescue story. But when you say no, because your rescue is full, your funds are low, or your team is exhausted, those same voices will criticize you.

They’ll forget the animals you saved and focus on the one you couldn’t take.

Don’t let it change your heart.

Some people will praise your care, your process, your kindness, until they want to surrender a pet, and you ask questions or try to help them work through it. Suddenly, you’re the worst person in the world!

That’s part of the job!

You’ll lose relationships. Some friends won’t understand why you fight for animal rights. Others will be cold to you when you’re being too dramatic for them after spending the night with a dying rescue.

Let them go.

People will call you every hour, message you at 2am, expect you to be available around the clock. And when you finally pause to breathe, they’ll say you’re fake, you don’t care.

It will sting, but keep breathing anyway.

Other rescuers will criticize how you operate, even if they’ve never set foot in your rescue. Some will help. Others will just talk.

Focus on the work, not the noise.

You’ll see things you can’t unsee. You’ll witness cruelty. And sometimes, no matter how fast you get there or how much you spend, you’ll still lose the animal.

Those are the nights you’ll sit and cry alone, and no one knows that.

But even in that pain, you’ll keep going.
Because despite all of it, the judgment, the burnout, the loss, the work matters.

Every life saved is a reason to continue.

Rescue is beautiful, heartbreaking, and unforgiving. But if you’re in it for the right reasons, you’ll find strength in the heartbreak and purpose in the pain.

Remember what you do is changing the animals lives in the best way possible!

Just don’t lose yourself in the process.

I’m am soooooo pleased to say that lovely little Leo, a star of the West End Woofs, is finally going home 🥰🥰

This poor boy was thrown out on the streets to fend for himself when his “owners” left the island, we heard about him hanging around outside a supermarket asking people to take him home 💔 so we went and found him and took him to our home boarding facility. He ended up in kennels for a short while after we flew him to foster in the UK, but we are so pleased to say he’s now going home 🙏

🆘‼️🚨Simba shelter in Cyprus is over run with puppies. There are 32 puppies there at the moment and on top of this more arrived yesterday 😞

We try and prevent puppies from growing up in the shelter, as once they reach adulthood their chances of adoption plummet. Especially if they are black or of a certain size.

We are urgently seeking fosterers for the eldest puppies in the shelter. The next flight is September 28th and we need to have all 11 puppies on that flight. It not only gives them the best start in life but allows space for the never ending sea of puppies and adult dogs that arrive at the shelter day in day out.

Poor beautiful Biscuit, his home in the UK has fallen through 😬 he just can’t catch a break 😔

Biscuit will be coming to me today in emergency foster in South Bristol.

I will update his info based on how he gets on with us but we’ll be looking for another foster or his forever home as soon as possible (before we fall in love and can’t let him go 🤪)

Biscuit is 3.5 years old and is small to medium sized.

I met him on Sunday and he is adorable 🥰

Savannah is Ambers baby daughter. Can you remember Amber? She was the one who was taken to the Pound heavily pregnant. When the workers at the Pound found out she was pregnant they were going to chuck her out on the streets to give birth 💔💔 ….that’s when we swooped in to save her otherwise Amber and her pups would have all died.

They’ve all been doing so well at our home boarding facility but now there is more heartbreak for Savannah…..her siblings are getting adopted and her remaining brother and mum are flying at the end of September.

We desperately need to find this gorgeous puppy a home! I cannot believe no-one has picked her yet!

She is 4 months old and currently 8 kg. She is adorable and we expect her to be medium size when fully grown.

She is a cuddly playful little teddy bear, a healthy and beautiful puppy.

She is in Cyprus looking for a home in the UK. She will be vaccinated, chipped, have her own pet passport and rescue back up.

Awww 🥰 look at dear Leia in her new home 🥰

She is settling in very well and we are thrilled to see her in a wonderful loving home 🥰

Leia was taken from a farm where she was kept outside with a few other dogs. They never had any affection or left the area they were in, just thrown a bone each night from the abbatoir their owner worked at. When he died the people who bought the place reached out to some rescues to take the dogs. Our rescuer was the last one to get to the place and all the other dogs had been removed except Leia and another big dog. Obviously we’d been left the harder to rehome dogs 🥹 they are still dogs and we’d never leave them behind….so we of course took them in.

We did think we’d struggle to find the pair of them homes….but they BOTH flew to homes last weekend!! We are beyond ecstatic 🥰🥰

I’m pretty sure that Thor thinks he has landed in Heaven! ❤️❤️

He is getting on fabulously 🥰 gets on fine with the resident Mali, and is catching up on a lot of well-earned sleep 💤

This is another of my absolute favourite rehomes, as I’m sure it is for anyone who has followed our social media over the last few months.

I’m not sure I’ve ever known a dog get reserved and then for the adopter to pull out as many times as Biscuit has 🤪 ….so I’m very excited to tell you that Biscuit is finally boarding his freedom flight 🥰 🥳

I can’t wait to share the updates of how he’s getting on 🥰
