We are a UK based volunteer team who are passionate about dog rescue. UK registered charity 1209645. Saving Souls Animal Rescue Registered Charity 1209645.

Our aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and help find homes for dogs in Shelters and Pounds across the Republic of Cyprus. All our dogs are neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped before being rehomed. Most of our dogs are in Cyprus but are looking for homes in the UK. We have a small number of dogs in foster in the UK. You can view all the dogs we have available on our website here:

Adoption fee is around £650, this includes travel to the UK and preparation for adoption: neutering, vaccinations, blood tests and health check, pet passport and micro chip. You can complete a Foster application form via our website here:

These sort of photos literally break me 💔

This is Leonardo, he’s at Ayia Napa Pound. He’s a sweet young Hound stuck at the Pound, rarely leaving his tiny rescue cage. Anyone who owns a similar rescue hound will know what a waste this is.

Leonardo is a beautiful, medium-sized Segugio hound cross and weighs 12.7 kg.

❤️ He arrived at the pound a few months ago and instantly melted our hearts. He’s one of the sweetest boys we’ve ever met. A little shy at first, but once he trusts you, he’ll wrap his front leg around you and never want to leave your side. If you could spend all day cuddling him, he’d be the happiest dog!

🐶 Leonardo walks nicely on the lead and would be a wonderful addition to any loving family. However, he does much better with female dogs and isn't so good around males.

Any big dog lovers out there?....Meet Leia!

Leia lived in a cage on a farm with 6 dogs in atrocious conditions. No freedom and no nothing. Luckily the farmer became ill and had to move and sell the farm. The new owner asked for help to get them moved or they would put to sleep. Can you imagine 4 years of NO life and then death?

Leia is an enormous girl. The other dogs were taken to safety yesterday but nobody wants an enormous 60 kg dog. She is a kangal which is a huge breed and while they look intimidating, they are actually very gentle dogs and are therefore great family pets as they are fantastic with young children and adults alike.

She is living in an enclosure with 6-8 other dogs with no issue and is really calm and loving. When she came she just wondered about in her own little world but now she is engaging and learning to play.

She is such an amazing calm and tolerant girl.

So Leia welcome to Saving Souls and I am praying for a home for you one day.

Awww look at old boy Zeus (was called Lovely) 🥰

I have a real affinity with this old boy. He came from Aradippou Dog Shelter, where my Lucy was from. His story was so similar to hers, the black dog who spent years at the shelter. In Zeus’s case, he spent 7 years there, from being a puppy, he knew nothing else than a life in a rescue cage covered in tarpaulin 💔💔💔

The photo of his face looking out of the bars haunted me. I had to get him out of there…. so he became my chosen “Dog of the Month” to raise the funds for his ticket to fly.

And that was all it took to find him that amazing home, running that fund raising campaign gained him the exposure he desperately needed to be seen.

Fast forward to now and Zeus’s greying muzzle shows his age, but like Lucy, I’m sure he’s still as strong as an oz. And hopefully has plenty more years of goods times ahead of him.

He’s scored himself the best home, he goes on more holidays than most of us all put together, the lucky boy 😝🥰🥰…..but he absolutely deserves that after spending half his life confined to a rescue cage.

I cannot thank his adopters enough for choosing him and giving him the best life. And also all those who donated to his freedom flight those years ago 🙏 thank you all for continuing to stand by our sides so we can help dogs like Zeus 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️

Meet Rony – a brave soul looking for a fresh start. 💛

In late March 2025, Rony was found in a heartbreaking state—severely emaciated, covered in ticks, with wounds on his tail and head. The marks on his body suggest he spent a long time confined in a cramped cage, deprived of care and freedom.

But despite everything he’s been through, Rony remains an incredibly friendly and social boy. He adores people, loves exploring the world around him, and is always eager for a walk.

Now, all he needs is a loving home where he can heal, regain his strength, and leave his painful past behind. Could you be the one to give Rony the second chance he so desperately deserves?

Rony is a medium sized dog at 25kg and just over 2 year old.

She’s the picture of health and the perfect addition to any home. Sweet, smart, and so ready for her happily ever after. Can you be the one to give her a forever family?

She loves to chew her toys and run and play with them .

Like most Cyprus dogs she loves to sit in the sun and has her own spot on the couch. She very, very rarely barks and is a quiet girl.

She’s super friendly and getting more and more inquisitive.– She is pretty good at walking to heel but obviously likes to have a sniff around and she does like to go and meet other dogs to play

She’s getting better at sitting while waiting to cross the road but, again is looking and sniffing around..

If I am eating she does not beg or come near.but she does love her food – She is good with other dogs that we’ve met and just wants to play.

She would love a place with plenty of space to run around and with a family/person who can give her plenty of attention. She has lots of energy but also likes to lie down and chill if she’s tired.

Meet Kodi – a bright, energetic soul waiting for his second chance

He was found on the streets in August 2024 and has been living in a tiny kennel at the municipal shelter ever since. It's heartbreaking to see such an active and intelligent dog confined to such a small space for so long.

Kodi is full of life, loves being around people, and gets along well with other dogs. With his playful nature and quick mind, he would be a perfect match for an active family living in a house, someone who can give him the space, love, and attention he deserves.

Kodi is a medium sized dog at 17kg adn is estimated to be nearly 4 years old.

Kodi is currently in Cyprus looking for a home in UK. He will be neutered, vaccinated, chipped, treated for parasites, have his own pet passport and rescue back up from Saving Souls Animal Rescue.

I’m so humbled that 8000+ people follow our Page and share our passion for helping doggies 🥰

We started this Page a few years ago from scratch and worked hard to grow our following. 8000 followers may not seem a great number compared to some FB Pages, but it’s actually the engagement on the Page and therefore the ability to find homes for dogs, that is the important thing. We aren’t here to grow a social media account just for the sake of it, we are here as our sole interest continues to find homes for dogs and relieve suffering 🙏❤️

Thank you all for being here, supporting us, and as a result, helping doggies to find homes.

Many of the dogs who come into our care have had a terrible past, we are here for as many of those dogs as we can, but we cannot do it alone 🙏🙏🙏

Look who has gone to his new home….dear old Noah 🥰

Noah has such a sad tale to tell 😔 found wandering the streets in a village in Cyprus in awful condition. He was thankfully picked up by a kind rescuer and taken to her Pound. He moved to a sanctuary for a while, but then that was closing and we had to find homes for several dogs desperately. We were worried for Noah as he was an old dog, would anyone want him?….but we did find him a home in the UK amazingly when he was estimated to be 11-12 years old.

He had a wonderful few years with his adopter….but then his magical world fell apart when his elderly adopter passed away suddenly after a short illness 💔

We were so heartened when Jean’s partner said he would take Noah on, but then he fell ill himself. He selflessly decided it was best for Noah to find a new home, realising that Noah wasn’t getting the attention he needed and deserved in his twilight years while he was having to attend so many hospital appointments himself 💔

So we were asked if we could find Noah a new home.

At the age of 15 years old we just didn’t know if that was possible, but we are here for our dogs for their lifetime and we had to at least try.

So last weekend I wrote a post to find him a new home or foster, and I was in tears as I saw the post get shared around instantly and offers coming in 🥹❤️❤️ what a wonderful community of people we have supporting us and following our Page. In a World that seems so depressing right now, YOU all are my beacon of hope! 🙏❤️

I’m so pleased to say that Noah moved to his new home this evening and is now settling in with his 2 doggie siblings 🥰🥰 the adopters have already fallen in love with him, well who wouldn’t?!!
