Stella and Reina - in kennels in Lancashire 💔

These girls were rescued together in Cyprus and spent a long time in rescue. They are 4.5 years old and are now in kennels in Lancashire and looking for their forever home(s). We think they are sisters, they can be rehomed separately. While they have spent their lives together, we believe they could do well in separate homes.

They went to foster first but moved to kennels as they wanted to chase the cat, so they need cat free homes.

The foster mum said about them:

Both girls are quiet and well behaved in the house, just the odd silly half hour. They sleep a lot changing position with the sun. They greet us in the mornings with squeaks of pleasure and waggy tails. They get excited to go out and we have taught them to sit for leads on, which they do beautifully. We have started teaching recall and get them to sit for a treat at every gate way. They learn quickly. They are good around food and we feed all four dogs together in the kitchen without a problem. They get along well with the resident dogs. They are fine with people and enjoy meeting visitors. They greet with waggy tails and settle well.

They are very clean in the house and no problem at all. They sleep through the night without a sound. We have left them for a couple of hours and they were fine.

These are lovely dogs, learning all the time but do still need lead training as are quite strong if they see something to investigate. They are happy girls and deserve wonderful homes.

If somebody is prepared to take them together we will negotiate any adoption fee accordingly, but they can be rehomed separately. PLEASE no negative comments about separating them, this is a decision we will take in the girls best interests and will be dependent on any home offers that come forward.

They are healthy, vaccinated neutered and micro chipped so please message for more info.

We always want to get a dog out there and seen by many, sometimes the way to do that is by creating an emotive reel.

But it usually backfires on me as I have to read the ridiculous comments by people saying what they would do: “don’t separate them”, “you’re heartless”, “I’d take the pair”.

Well guess what, they all reckon they’d “take the pair” but strangely enough not a single application for Rhea 🤷‍♀️

I do despair of idi*ts sat there commenting from the comfort of their armchairs who’ve never done a days volunteering at a shelter in their lives 🤷‍♀️ they all have an opinion but no substance to back them. If they did then they’d fill in an application form for Rhea and we’d have dozens of them by now. They care so implicitly that we don’t separate the dogs but not to actually do anything to help.

Our adoptions are at rock bottom, they’ve never been so low. Every single adoption is hard fought. We don’t try and find homes for pairs of dogs unless under special extremely bonded pair circumstances, and even then it could work out better for the dogs if we do separate them, as we are finding with a pair that were rehomed together.

We have been involved in animal rescue for many years, I like to think we know what we are doing 🤷‍♀️🙄

Sorry for the rant but I’ve had enough for one day after reading through the comments on that reel 🤬

🤲Let me share how a charity works through a personal story of mine.

🥺Many people claim to love dogs, yet they allow them to roam freely without supervision, leave them unneutered to have unwanted litters, or abandon them in the mountains to die—often because they want a “better” dog. 😮‍💨😒🥺

🇨🇾In Cyprus, dogs that cannot be rehomed locally often end up to us to do the hard job.

🐶Many people here prefer small, cute, and fluffy companions, leaving larger or less traditionally appealing dogs without homes.

🏡We work tirelessly to show the world—especially in the UK—what these dogs are like and what they’re capable of, hoping to find them loving homes.

😔The harsh truth is that only a small number of dogs in Cyprus get adopted each year, and typically only specific types.

⚰️Cases of larger dogs being adopted are rare—perhaps one in 100. If it weren’t for the involvement of the UK, thousands more dogs would be dead.

❤️I’m not trying to be dramatic, I’m being realistic.

🙏The abandonment of dogs and puppies is endless, and we can’t save them all. All we ask is for your support in any way you can provide it: fostering, adopting, donating, or volunteering.

🥰This time, we have wonderful news about JOLIE.😀 After waiting for two years, someone far away saw his beauty in a photo and decided to adopt him. That’s more than just a success—it’s a miracle. Thanks to Saving Souls, who never stopped promoting him for 1.5 years, Jolie now has a loving home.

💙Lilou was found as an 800gpuppy, and now she’s thriving in the warm home that Saving Souls Animal Rescue secured for her.

💊Elsie, the sweetest Springer Spaniel, was abandoned in the mountains and diagnosed with leishmaniasis. Yet, she was adopted in the UK by a lovely family who gives her all the love and care she deserves.

🙏Mylo and Meli are now in an amazing foster homes , preparing to be adopted into their forever families.

Please meet sweet little Jimmy. Jimmy has a very sad story 🥲

Last Saturday, during the heavy rain, in the night the rescuer heard their dogs barking.... Usually they don't bark…

Her husband went out and found this little creature, wet, injured and terrified....💔

Jimmy had been thrown over the 3m high fence of a rescuer, hence his injuries, and they’d been kind enough to throw over a tin of dog food for him too 🙄🤬

They obviously knew she lived there and wanted to dump poor Jimmy. Obviously a tiny dog like Jimmy, falling from that height was going to really hurt him 💔 he only weighs 5.4kg!!!

The rescuer could not take him into her house as she has a pack of large dogs, 40-45kgs. So she dried him and him in a plastic kennel in the garage with many warm towels.

On Monday she took him to the vet. He is about 7-8 years old. They tested him and he is clear of Leish and Erlichia thankfully.

A friend has been fostering him for her but he cannot stay there much longer. We genuinely don’t think he will last long in the Pound if he has to go there, so we are absolutely desperate to find him a home to fly to on the next flight on 12th January.

Jimmy loves human company, he is fine with cats and dogs as he is living with both in foster.

He doesn't bark, he walks fine on the lead and he is very calm and quiet.

He will make the perfect companion for someone looking for a quiet dog.

Kenzo - in foster in Bristol UK

Kenzo is a pointer cross baby who has flown from Cyprus to find his forever home and is currently in foster in Bristol.

His foster mum says:

“Kenzo is a very handsome 6 month old pup with beautiful, unique markings.

He is a very playful boy but loves cuddles and a long snooze between playtimes.

He is very relaxed in the house.

He’s taken well to wearing a harness and is at ease on a lead. He is building confidence out and about and, despite not seeing many moving cars/bikes etc before, he’s taking it all in his stride.

He’s very slight at the moment so he loves his food. He can be protective of it sometimes but this will calm down when he realises food isn’t scarce anymore and he doesn’t have to compete for it with his 9 siblings + other dogs.

Kenzo is toilet trained although he has only recently lived inside a house so would appreciate being let out often to avoid potential accidents.

Kenzo is happy for short periods of time in his crate. We are slowly building this up and he sleeps in it over night.

He is slowly getting used to spending time without a human, but it will take a bit of time for him to fully settle, knowing someone will return.

He would prefer you to be home all the time initially, until he feels happy being left on his own.

Kenzo would suit a family home with older kids who can respect his boundaries.

He’s picked up some commands quickly. He knows ‘off’ when jumping up but will learn very quickly with a bit of training as he’s eager to please and loves his treats.”

I’m so sorry Nacho 💔 we did try for you 🥲 I’m sorry you’ve missed your chance to board the freedom flight. Today was supposed to be your first day in your new home, but that dream was shattered.

Over 400 days in the shelter 💔 you’ve seen friends come and go and it’s never your turn 😩

You’re the most affectionate boy and good with other dogs. There is no reason for you to be here, wasting your life in the shelter.

We must get you out Nacho before you get older and even less people will consider adopting you 💔

Nacho’s adoption fee has been reduced to help find him a good home. Anyone who wants to offer him a home but the adoption fees have always put you off, message us and we will be happy to chat about Nacho 🙏

Milo has arrived in his new home 🥰

It’s been a long and stressful journey but it’s worth it for sure.

Poor Milo was feeling the end of his owners stick far too often. It was sad because I’m sure the old man loved Milo but he got Dementia 💔 so we were asked to take Milo on.

He’s been with us in home boarding and we wondered whether we would find a home for him….but we are so pleased to say he’s found a wonderful home and is settling in really well already 💙

I’m so surprised we’ve had no interest in Astrid!

Astrid was found abandoned on some waste land. She is approx. 8 months old and a beautiful Labrador type puppy.

Luckily the lady who found her will keep her for a short time in the hope she will avoid a cage. She is good with other dogs and also cats.

Her foster mum says Astrid is already getting the hang of basic commands like sit. She gets on well with the other dog in their home as well as their neighbours dog.

She can spend some time in a crate with no crying/ barking so should be easy to fully crate train.

Although initially nervous on a walk her confidence has improved a huge amount in the short amount of time we have had her.

She is highly motivated by treats so it will be easy to train her. She can be very playful but is also happy to lie down and relax or take herself off to the crate for some down time.

She is currently in a home with a teenager and has had interactions with smaller children under the age of 2 which she has handled incredibly well.

She is house trained, and is having her vet preparation to fly.

Astrid is currently in Cyprus looking for a home in UK. She will be vaccinated, chipped, treated for parasites, her own pet passport and rescue back up from Saving Souls Animal Rescue.

Happy to be a part of these doggies journeys. Abby is one of Sofia found her Forever Home’s pups and is flying under another rescue to find her home. Blossom is flying to foster and Daisy is flying home to the original people that found her. Daisy’s friend Dante will fly in the next flight to his forever home 🙏🎉🎉🎉

Last flight for 2024 and 3 more doggies are on their way home! That leaves us with another 21 souls at the shelter waiting for their forever family - and of course there is so much more to say about our little shelters survival but we need a few more days for some final decisions...no matter what, you are all amazing and should feel proud for yourselves..your love and ongoing support is what keeps us sane and helping us try our best for these babies! 🐾 Hi there, future family! My name is Ebony, and I’m a sweet 10-month-old black pup with a heart as big as my playful spirit! 💕

A little about me: I was abandoned in the forest by hunters. I didn’t understand why they left, so I ran after their van, hoping they’d come back for me. Luckily, a kind man saw me, scooped me up, and called these nice people to help me find a real forever home!

When I first came in, I was all skin and bones—so sad and very hungry. But thanks to some good food and a lot of love, I’ve gained weight, my coat’s shiny, and I’m healthy and ready to meet my new family!

I’m super friendly, LOVE other dogs, and I’m always up for a game or a good snuggle. I’m playful, gentle, and ready to bring lots of joy (and a little mischief) into your life! If you’re looking for a furry best friend who’ll always be by your side, I’m your girl. 🐶💖

Ebony is in Cyprus and can fly to the UK on 12th January. She has full rescue back up from Saving Souls Animal Rescue and will be chipped and fully vaccinated.

Kenzo is one of the mountain babies. All found struggling in the mountain by themselves in the heat, dumped by some callous individual. They would have perished in that heat if a kind man hadn’t found them and taken them to safety. We have been struggling to find them all homes. Kenzo has a chance to fly to foster if we can raise the funds to get him there 🙏

Aries was one of 4 puppies found in a cardboard box. Vaso was asked to help them and she took them in when they were the size of the palm of her hand. And there they have stayed, growing up in kennels their whole puppyhood, it’s so sad. Aries is now a year old and it’s his chance to fly to foster and find a forever home, if we can raise his ticket to fly 🙏
