Let’s talk about a**l glands 🐶💩

Have you noticed an unpleasant smell coming from your dogs rear end? Does your dog scoot along the floor on its bum?

The area can often smell fishy or like faeces. This is an indicator that your dogs a**l glands may need expressing by a vet or vet nurse. Vet practices often offer this service if you pay for a monthly plan with them (flea, worming treatments etc).

It is crucial to get your dogs a**l glands checked regularly to save potential infections, impaction or worst case abscesses and rupture.

The a**l glands can become very painful and uncomfortable for your dog. Please make sure you feed your dog fibre alongside their food to help with natural expression and visit your vets.

Contact me if you’re unsure of anything when your dog has a groom with me.
