Finally 😃 the following email was sent to me this week so give me a call or email & let's get your pups looking beautiful.
Good afternoon,
You will recall we contacted dog groomers within the Ryedale area earlier in the year following the implementation of the national lockdown to advise of the requirement that only grooming for welfare reasons should take place.
On 23 March the Canine and Feline Sector Group released additional advice to animal related businesses following discussions with DEFRA:
https://www.cfsg.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/23rd-March-2021-Pet-Business-Guidance-COVID-19.pdf
This advice includes an update confirming that groomers may undertake all grooming by appointment with care being taken to ensure Covid security when the pet is admitted or returned. Although the CFSG state this update has been agreed with DEFRA, it is yet to be updated in any of the Government’s COVID guidance which still infers general grooming should not re-commence until 12 April.
However, in view of the CFSG guidance and our wish to support businesses it has been determined that the Council will not pursue formal action against those who decide to follow the new advice and re-start general grooming by appointment from 29 March. This is on the basis that a suitable handover protocol is in place and that the premises is Covid secure.
Please note that in the event that contrary guidance is published by the Government we may have to review our position which you would be notified of.
Kind regards,
Mark
