It's a bit of a scorcher this week and it goes without saying that our furry friends are probably feeling it too.

Please be mindful when out for walks of walking on hot tarmac and concrete that can burn dogs' paws, give them plenty of water and somewhere cool to rest if they get tired and don't leave them in cars unattended.

We have a variety of cooling treats such as dog-friendly ice creams, treats and cooling mats. And our store is dog friendly so there's no excuse not to bring them in for a slurp of nice cold water while you shop.

Raw Dogs Dinner story on Raw food for Dogs

Our Big Jake Who Was 11.5 stone was told he was allergic to all hoofed animals and cereal, wheat and Gluten! For a large dog who loves food this was bad news.. He had grain free dog biscuits as instructed by our vet, yet he still had sore paws and had to take Steroids everyday which made him hungry and constantly want to eat. this is how he got so heavy! He also carried on getting ear aches and sore paws! so bigger appetite and less exercise made him bigger. We decided to go into Raw food as there was very little options for him. Well we never looked back, he was unsure at the beginning and danced around his bowl to start with and hiding his bones, after a couple of days he had the raw meat dinners and within 24 hours we noticed he had smaller toilet breaks, he was less tiered and within a couple of weeks he was nt shaking his head with sore ears they had got better without regular steroids and he was jumping around and much more playful and cheeky! chasing us and tripping us up! when running by being a true Bull Mastiff and ramming your knees as you run to knock you over which he had nt done since he was a puppy due to his illnesses. The Raw Food diet changed his Health and stamina and made him much happier.

Dogs are carnivores and need 80% meat 10% Bone and 10% Offal as recommended by BARF (Biologiacally Appropriate Raw Food). Which needs to be DEFRA Approved.
