Introducing, Woola 🐾

Gotcha day: 6th August 🥳

We now have a 2 year old Female Frenchie Rescue as part of the family! Although my mum would like to think that Woola is her dog, she will definitely be subject to Top and Tails events, photo shoots and will be joining the social sessions!

She’s had a brilliant settling in time apart from a little poorly eye :( Thank you to for letting us borrow a doggy cone for her… we may need to get you a new one though🤣

We feel so honored to have such a brilliant pup as part of our family and most important the senior resident cat, Pirate is happy with her arrival too! We can’t wait for the Top and Tails Team to meet her and for her to make some new pup friends at the socials.

Only Anna our first ever Top and Tails Team member and previous Assistant Manager!

Of course she couldn’t stay away long!

Anna sadly left Top and Tails at the end of November 2023 knowing she wanted to use her passion for animals to educate herself further. Now set up on her animal management apprenticeship she feels it’s the right time to come back! Anna will be working weekends to start so she can make sure her studies are prioritized during the week.

Anna‘s new public bio:

‘I’m so glad to be back working at Top and Tails, and I can’t wait to catch up with familiar faces and meet new ones! I recently began an apprenticeship in animal care and welfare, after realizing that my passion for working with animals is something I want to pursue more seriously! This opportunity will allow me to further my knowledge and skills so I can provide even better care for the pets I work with.

I have always lived in a house with pets which instilled the importance of having my furry family members well looked after. Whether it’s playing, going for walks, or just chilling together, I’m here to make sure your pets feel happy and loved while you’re away.’

We are aware we have now received our first negative review. We did respond on the review however we have now had to block this person so our response to the review isn’t public- which we believe is quite important! I will paste what was our response at the bottom of this post 👇

‘Dear Chris,
I’m extremely saddened that you felt compelled to leave my small business a negative review.

I did not feel comfortable taking you on as a client after you made a very disturbing and upsetting comment about wanting to kill cats, in a pretty horrific and graphic way.
As an avid lover of ALL animals, I do not wish to associate with/ work for someone who shares such worrying views. This was in addition to some other negative comments you made about your previous pet sitter and our booking system.

My priority is my team members well-being while conducting their work. Meeting a stranger in their home for a free complimentary meet and greet is, as I’m sure you can understand, a real safety and wellbeing concern. This is one of the reasons I implemented 2 members of staff to attend together for all meet and greets. I express consistently to my team that if they feel uncomfortable at a meet and greet they should continue as normal and contact me on their departure as we are unsure how someone will respond to us declining them at a meet and greet. Going to a strangers house can be quite unsettling and can be alarming and/or dangerous for them to handle a disgruntled person after declining services. I am glad the 2 ladies at your meet followed protocol, continued the meet as normal and contacted me after. Following your review, emails sent to me and your phone call to my Lincoln Leader who was very unsettled after speaking with you on the phone, I am even more relieved that they stuck to protocol.

I am sorry that my diligence and right to not accept work has led to you feeling aggrieved. Further leaving an unwarranted negative review against myself, my business and my team. I of course do dispute the points raised in your review. I believe that my right to not accept work shows I care about my staff, my clients and strive to provide excellent pet care services. I am proud to have ensured the safety of my team and take on only clients that share our views of the highest animal welfare care.

As we have never had a situation like this before, your comment on “this is not the first time this has happened” is incorrect.

I would kindly request this review be removed from the page in the circumstances.

As mentioned in our email this week, our full time sitter Katie (Kate) will be leaving us on Sunday. Our other fabulous sitter, Lacey will be back up to University at the end of August and won’t be back until end of November.

We are looking for 2 sitters to join our team to fill in for Lacey and take over for Katie. These are two of our BEST sitters so there is big shoes to fill!

We are flexible on applicants and can work with Part-Time or Flexi but the more availability the better!

Preferably located within 10-15miles of Bourne.

Part-Time position available LINCOLN.

We are looking for a dedicated pet enthusiast to join our team of fabulous sitters. We currently think someone with a fixed weekly schedule would be the best fit for our team, to commit to our regular clients.

This role can include: Dog Walking, Drop-In Visits, Overnights, and Pet Sitting in Clients homes.

We cover a wide variety of animals so would preferably like someone who is adaptable to multiple different breeds and variations of pets.

Minimum Requirements:
- Be over 18.
- Hold a Driving License.
- Have a DBS or be willing to get one. (Basic is £18)
- Be willing to join our insurance for £8 a month.
- Be reliable, hardworking and trustworthy.
- Have a passion and commitment for animals and pet care.
- Be confident with large dogs and different breeds.
- Be able to walk for long periods of time.
- Understand that this job is not a hobby, and booked working shifts are a commitment.
- Commit to continuous staff training.

Having met this wonderful three-legged fur baby, we just had to share him with you!
