So babies Stevie and Timmy who came in on 31st were joined by siblings Cerys on 2nd and Tyson and Red on 3rd.

So 5 babes to feed !

Their weights were 73 g - 89 g.

Well done Heather who has been looking out for more babies and did a fantastic job of keeping the last 2 warm and safe on Friday night.

It's early days but all seems to be doing ok 🤞

Little Stevie just 3 weeks old was found at lunchtime. She had been heard last night calling for mum. 88 g.

Wouldn't take a syringe feed so had a saline injection, but has since had a feed and lapped a little bit.

This is Hattie she came in Sunday. She was out in the day.
However she didn't seem ill, not skinny or dehydrated and probably too small to be pregnant and not a new mum.

I kept her for observation and on the 2nd 💩 sample I found quite a lot of roundworm eggs and the dreaded fluke
So she's started treatment. she is very quiet but eating ok and doesn't like being photographed 😀

UPDATE 5th August.
Miss Rose checked out last night a massive 959g go have a great life.

The most disgusting hedgehog Rose has been sent glamping.

She has finished her parasite treatment. She was really poorly and lost over 100g dropping to 512g. Now 850g. Just hoping she doesn't drop any baby surprises before I get her home.

She can 💩 up walls on individual sheets of newspaper, on and under puppy pads and of course on her food plate and water bowl.😱

But seriously I am over the moon she has made it as she was deteriorating before my eyes, she had, had all the treatment ,and all I could do was give the best food and drink, this is where the critical care formula really helps as you can put it in water and add to food, so helps when they don't eat very much.

Well done Rose I love you but not your mess 😂

Little baby Bean seem to have been here forever. A 83 g underweight 4 week old baby came in 16th June.
Lots of problems with a bacterial gut infection, very slow to gain weight and then developed ringworm on her face which then spread to involve most of the body

She gets extremely stressed which you often find with ringworm. It affects there immune system so they can't fight it.

She eventually gained enough weight to go outside where she is doing much better.

Spines are growing back just needs a bit more fur on her tummy and underside of bum.

Now 520g so can be released when skin problem sorted.

Mr Amazon has been again yesterday but didn't get chance to open it.

A very big THANK YOU to Sarah ❤️. I will update my wishlist when I get chance as I now have enough critical care for the moment. Don't worry if you have ordered some I had 7 last time and still got through them fast😀

Hi it's Jamie here again ( I can't find any food in this holding bowl).
Just want to say I feel great.
I finished the hantibiotic jabbies yesterday and had the nasty jabby as I was 300g.

The hog lady put my heat mat on last night incase I felt poorly but I was fine.

I ate the amazing food, what a choice I get as well as the cocktail drink which apparently is quittical care formula full of goodness, she also soaks the crack coke in it 😀. I even gained more weight I'm now 330g.

Yes I know I have a tic in each ear - it's a cool 😎 look for a Dude. The hog woman took all my others off but she wasn't getting these bad boy earrings 😂.

But the nasty jabby makes them drop off so they won't be there much longer.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend
❤️ From big boy Jamie ###x

While I hate asking as I had so much sent from the Amazon wishlist last time and lots of donations it's been an extremely busy and expensive spring.

The cupboard and bank balance is bare😱 !.

STATS
Number in. Vet costs
April. 16. £260
May. 22. £341
June. 15. £348.

Vet costs are quite high as we had 4 amputations in this period which is the average for a year ! Also drug costs have gone up, hogs now have multiple types of parasites as the norm needing different treatments all needing repeating.

I am not complaining about vet costs compared with what other rescues have to pay with a 30% discount on everything I feel lucky to have such a caring vet, as her prices are lower than other practices anyway.

So if anyone is able to get anything off the wishlist everything on there is needed especially, critical care formula, puppy pads and needles. ( List is pinned at the top of the page scroll right).

Specialist food is not on this as you would pay over the odds so I buy this elsewhere.
So any small cash donation appreciated towards food and vet bills.

Either by PayPal ( [email protected]) put it as friends and family so no charges please.
Or pm me for bank details.

Please don't worry if you can't help I have good pensions and the hogs will never be without any treatment or specialist food while I have money in my bank.

Thank you for your overwhelming support be it financial or emotional it all helps the rescue and me ❤️
So I better leave a cute pic of recent baby bubble

Update 27th July. This little sweetie is doing well. Can't find any parasites in samples so far but obvious inflammation in the gut as there is lots of mucus and a bit of blood.

So he started antibiotics yesterday as it's usually caused by bacteria such as Salmonella.

Has put on a bit of weight overnight and eating small amount of puppy mousse and soaked crack co***ne ❤️

In tonight is a skinny youngster probably not long left mum.
This is Harrison 217g.
He's in a heated cage, had warm fluid injections.
Not sure what is wrong but suspect it's parasites, as he doesn't look like a healthy baby who's lost mum.
Time will tell 🤞 I can get him on the mend

Sad to say that Marcus passed over the 🌈 bridge at 10 pm last night. Fly high young man I tried my best but it was too late for you 😢.

2 new ones in today.

Marcus is deteriorating rapidly and is in the incubator he's had lots of fluids , he's chesty so had antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs but, he's showing signs of organ failure -

Very sorry to say I don't think he will be with me much longer 😥

Hi Jamie here, aren't I a sweetheart. I came in on Tuesday and was really poorly. I have a full house in parasite bingo with lungworm, roundworm, fluke and bacterial infection which made me have blood in my 💩, it was that bad it gave me awful tummy ache, it sent me crazy and I was running round, the hog lady gave me a painkiller jabby and I then had a sleep.

It's very scary here for a little hog, but I must say I'm feeling much better, the hantibiotic jabbies worked really quickly and my 💩 is looking better !.

I've had treatment for the flooky thingy and the lungworm and as soon as I'm strong enough I will have the roundworm jabby which can make you very ill, so the hog lady says it's early days.

I'm a good boy and I am now eating from the all day buffet as she says the more weight I can put on the less likely I will be ill after the nasty jabby.

Send your good vibes
Love from ickle Jamie 😘

Tiny Tommy a very skinny 236g juvenile came in last night from a vet.
He was dehydrated, hypothermic and had horrendous diarrhoea, passing blood and slime also had lungworm.

He was nursed in the incubator, had antibiotics and fluids but this morning he had deteriorated more and despite lots of fluids he went over the 🌈 bridge this afternoon 😥. Fly high sweetheart xx

🌱✂️ The wet weather this summer has encouraged the rampant growth of grass and other undergrowth in our gardens, parks and roadside verges, so you might be thinking about breaking out the mower or strimmer this weekend.

🦔⚠️ Every year, many hedgehogs are seriously injured or killed by cutting machines, so please check grass and hedges thoroughly before using mowers, strimmers, or hedge cutters.

A hedgehog’s natural defence is to roll in a ball rather than run away, but their spines are no match for these tools.

Jamie came in at teatime was found lying in the open with flies around him. He is a skinny 255g.

He's in the incubator, had fluids injections.

Luckily James the finder got him inside and so no flystrike, thanks for that and getting him to me xx

💩 Looks awful slimy, green but also blood. It's full of lungworm larvae and roundworm eggs.

He will start antibiotics before bed with more fluids as the blood is a sign of bacterial infection.

When he's more stable the other nasties will be treated.
He's not eating or drinking please send him good healing vibes and 🙏.

Open for business again.

4 back from being fostered as they need further treatment

1.Bramble is now in the rehab pen to strengthen his other legs after his amputation 3 weeks ago.

2.Morgan who has roundworm but an old injury involving her face, it has started leaking again so is back on antibiotics and being seen at the vets on Thursday.

3. Rose who was very poorly with Fluke, roundworm and lungworm, has done really well and is gaining weight, she needs to complete the treatment.

4. Baby bean who finally started putting on weight he's now glamping. Still not sure about him, now he's looking bigger he is very odd looking which can be a genetic, and that's why mum abandons them😥.

A big thank you to Matt and Leanne for taking good care of them.
