Hi it's Jamie here again ( I can't find any food in this holding bowl).
Just want to say I feel great.
I finished the hantibiotic jabbies yesterday and had the nasty jabby as I was 300g.
The hog lady put my heat mat on last night incase I felt poorly but I was fine.
I ate the amazing food, what a choice I get as well as the cocktail drink which apparently is quittical care formula full of goodness, she also soaks the crack coke in it 😀. I even gained more weight I'm now 330g.
Yes I know I have a tic in each ear - it's a cool 😎 look for a Dude. The hog woman took all my others off but she wasn't getting these bad boy earrings 😂.
But the nasty jabby makes them drop off so they won't be there much longer.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend
❤️ From big boy Jamie ###x
Hi Jamie here, aren't I a sweetheart. I came in on Tuesday and was really poorly. I have a full house in parasite bingo with lungworm, roundworm, fluke and bacterial infection which made me have blood in my 💩, it was that bad it gave me awful tummy ache, it sent me crazy and I was running round, the hog lady gave me a painkiller jabby and I then had a sleep.
It's very scary here for a little hog, but I must say I'm feeling much better, the hantibiotic jabbies worked really quickly and my 💩 is looking better !.
I've had treatment for the flooky thingy and the lungworm and as soon as I'm strong enough I will have the roundworm jabby which can make you very ill, so the hog lady says it's early days.
I'm a good boy and I am now eating from the all day buffet as she says the more weight I can put on the less likely I will be ill after the nasty jabby.
Send your good vibes
Love from ickle Jamie 😘
Took this video last week of one of the babies.
When they get a new smell or taste they lick it and spit it on their back.
But to do this you have to roll over. It's called self anointing and a very messy business when you land in the food bowl.
Bubble and Squeak are learning how to lap. ( Baby crack if course )
You may think this is easy but it lasts 20 seconds then they start waking through it, climbing up each other.
I then have to split them up and give them a syringe feed in between the paddling 🥰
How quickly they develop, in a week there eyes are open, they can now hear as their ears were closed, they are toddling around and lapping.
By next weekend their bottom teeth will be pushing through.
When your baby takes its first wobbly steps and starts trying to explore.
This is squeak avoiding the syringe feed 🥰
This is one p---ed off baby squeak. Not sure why she was so grumpy either the food was late or she didn't like being taken out her warm bed.
I was trying to get her to uncurl for her syringe feed and she started pop corning. You may have seen guinea pigs do this, they do it when they are happy. Hedgehogs do it to inflict the most pain from their spikes. Got to love a feisty baby 🥰.
Both are doing well and she hasn't been grumpy since 😁
As I'm still not 100 % on the sex I've named them bubble and squeak.
They have had 4 feeds so far since they came in at lunchtime about 2 mls each time.
They really need to get up to 4 mls but they get tired, but they are accepting the syringe. So they are having a 3 hour break in-between the next one.
Squeak still hasn't been to the toilet. I won't sleep if she doesn't go before I go to bed.
Please 🙏 pee
Hi Basil here,
I have been driving the hooman mad as I keep trashing my cage.
So she dragged her sorry arse outside and cleaned a glamping pod out , so I've moved in😀.
BUT there is no 24 hour buffet, apparently biscuits will be basic and NO wet food!.
That's not fair as Arthur is glamping and he gets wet food. The hooman says that's because he has vitamin powder mixed in to help his spines grow ( the wing worm made them fall out ).
Any way it means I will be going 🏡 soon .
Love 😘 Basil
So I was working in the rescue this morning and could hear munching, I peeped in all the cages but couldn't see any hogs.
I listened hard and realised it was Edgar who had took his blanket with him so he couldn't be seen. ❤️
You can see the wound on his nose, this can cause problems especially when infected as the nerves that transmit the smell get damaged.
Well I am so pleased he had no problem finding the crack cocaine and is well on the rocky road to addiction 😀
Yes this is what the puppy mousse and babycat milk is used for - obviously a foot spa 😄😄😄
Blossom is perking up but She is unfortunately not using her other legs to get around. this could be neurological as dangling upside down for a long time would cause brain swelling.
I discussed this yesterday with our vet Erica, she wanted to give her a few more days to improve, so she had an appointment on Thursday for assessment.
She has needed intensive care and had a massive amount of fluid injections and couldn't move for the 1st 24 hours and needed turning so we've come a long way already.
She is still on anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics. Also fluids once a day as she is still leaking a lot from her wounds.
She's now passing urine and providing 💩 samples which so far are clear.
I've just moved her out of the incubator.
I also keep putting her in the correct position to encourage her to balance.
Keep going Blossom you are determined to survive - just don't give up ❤️ So humbled by this little lady 💗
Love this video from a hedgehog lover Paul Stockham it says it all
Little Jim is feeling better after 2nd round of fluke treatment.
He is eating , drinking and gaining weight.
I'm trying to build him up a bit more as he's overdue the nasty 3rd round of treatment for roundworm . Can't risk him going backwards though so he will get it Monday.
Keep going Jim your are such a sweetheart 😘
Ah, little Poppy who was released to a new home last Wednesday as I didn't know where she was found.
She's certainly making herself at home and has the nest building instinct.
Well done Helen for giving her 5* accommodation and food and for the video xx
It's this that makes it all worth while. Hoping for lots of babies from her next year ❤️
So not as manic managed Lunch and a shower !
Poppy, Scottie, Helen and Dorothea are all stable and gaining weight nicely.
Alice has perked up a bit.
Rocket and Bluebell are not well still needing supportive fluids, antibiotics etc
Poor little Robin is still battling and gaining a few grams each day. But also has lungworm so has started treatment for that and the roundworm is still present. He's still in the incubator and having supportive fluid injections.
Scamp really is a Scamp he is actually quite poorly but doesn't obviously realise. I videoed this earlier and he actually fell out the cage at teatime when I was putting the food in. He definitely wants to escape.
The incubator doesn't stay empty for long. This is Ben who came in at teatime. 188g and extremely skinny.
Very cold and dehydrated.
he was found out yesterday afternoon and had been kept in a shed since, so really hope he got here in time.
He's had 2 lots of fluid injections and has started to move around.
He's not stable on his back legs which I hope is only because he's weak rather than an injury. He's eaten a tiny bit of slop. I'm very tempted to give him a big plateful but need to go slowly.
🤞 For little Ben look at his fluff what a handsome boy 🥰
Herbie who came in yesterday seems to have already become addicted to the hoggie crack cocaine. This was 30 seconds after filling the bowl.
He's still not well though but this will help !
So Charlie and the babes were split up on Tuesday. The babes were big enough to stay out side at 250/260g.
Charlie had an amputation on Thursday and is doing well. the babes are little naughty toddlers out on their own exploring and climbing.
Update 8th September
So after getting excited about the 2g gain her weight has dropped by 20g and she's not eaten anything. Now only 182g she is skin and bone.
She has started the next round of lungworm treatment today and I really don't think she will cope as her body must be so weak.
Bless her my 💔 when I see her getting thinner and thinner and I can't do anything ###
Little Russo is still fighting.
She's gained 2g ! Unless a tiny baby this wouldn't be seen as exciting but after 17days of losing weight every day I feel a tiny bit more optimistic.
Unfortunately she still has fluke eggs but less so hopefully the med is still working, but she still has lungworm so will need another round of treatment for that.
Keep going Russo we love you ❤️🤞
Hi its Des here again. The lady can't believe how well I'm doing despite all the jabbing for my worms and infection. The food here is fantastic love love love the Royal canin soaked in the special powder. Also quite like it dry too.
It's like crack cocaine for hedgies not tried it up the nose yet.😃
The lady buys it in bulk from pets at home and pays for it from the PayPal when there is enough money in, but she's just emptied it buying the special sloppy stuff for the kiddos.
She opened the last bag today so if you wouldn't mind supporting our drug habits and can spare £1 please send it to [email protected].
Love you all, I'm definitely the cutest one here and modest
