I have equalled my busiest ever month May 2023.
27 admissions no babies.

June 2025 27 admissions 15 were babies. 😵‍💫.
A busy month is usually around 15 in total
😴
I am telling myself it's getting easier now the Chaddasden chaps have started to eat themselves.

Not happy to tread the mousse and formula into the puppy pad they lift it up so they can smear it and 💩 onto the incubator so it drys on hard.

Update 30th June.
1.30 pm
Baby Harry is still alive but very poorly.

Too weak to feed himself he has took a little via a syringe as well as fluid injections.

Not passed and urine since arrival which is a big concern 😥.
He's not balling at all which again in a bad sign.

Continue to send 🙏❤️🤞 I'm not giving up yet

Despite being full this one sounded urgent and the high dependency was empty.

Tiny 53 g baby but around 31/2 - 4 weeks old. So should be double that weight 😥.

Seen last night alone and wobbling but put in a hedgehog house with no bedding and posted on Facebook.🤬

Luckily Carolyn Spray spotted the post and organised transport. It arrived at 1pm.

Hypothermic, dehydrated and fleas.

Had to jab the skinny little thing as too cold to take very much from a syringe and to ill to wait for it to warm up.
It's quite precarious literally could collapse and die any minute,so only having critical care formula.

Since warming up he has lapped a little but was lying down as no strength to stand, will need another injection as it's gone to sleep and not interested in any more.

Thank you Carolyn and Debs for springing into action .
please send everything you have it's precious 💞. ❤️🤞🙏 Please xx

3 new ones yesterday so I'm full till I can move some outside.
This is Flossy absolutely gorgeous cheeky girl. 143g .
About 4 weeks old was with a sibling during the day but unfortunately that went AWOL before it could be captured.

What happened to Mum isn't known be they were cheaping for her.

Wish her well, I think she's unhappy on her own so hope her sibling is found 🤞

PLEASE, PLEASE put out shallow dishes of fresh water everywhere for all our wildlife.

Temperatures are rising and it’s been so dry that natural water sources are scarce.

Hogs, birds, bees and all animals need it.

Thank you to Merton Hedgehog Rescue for their lovely picture 👍

Tonight’s admission was found by Jon after noticing on his nature camera a hog that seemed to be covered in ticks and limping on its rear right leg. After successfully capturing it last night he kindly brought it to me for a proper check up. The tick burden is obvious just from this photo but definitely does not show the full extent, 20+ I would say I’ve removed plus more probably buried. Unfortunately I am unable to s*x it as it’s balling up nice and tight but with the rear leg protruding it could suggest a broken leg. It’s also obvious it’s suffering with dehydration and weight loss so it’s had sub-cut fluids to start tackling this.

Massive thank you to our volunteer drive, Sally, for transporting this hog to Stabbo & Sandiacre Spikey Rescue where it will get some pain relief and further examinations. We’re lucky in that it’s a rear leg as worst case scenario it could survive an amputation, if this was a front leg it would usually end in being PTS. All the best hoggie, thank you soo much for squeezing it in Yvonnne I know you’re busy! ❤️
