I must be about the luckiest blighter in Inverness right now! I just won my dinner ! Low and behold it's national fish and chips day and Mcleods (The Best Fish and Chips in Scotland) was randomly giving away 2 free dinners. I was one of them! It's not all salad and edible flowers! Thanks to the team at Mcleods. The best.

I'm very impressed with these butterfly sorrel leaves. This picture does them no justice. In reality their leaves are rich in all sorts of deep purples and they are robust and healthy. The corms are sourced from Elgin based . Thanks Jacob!

Recently I came home to an awesome surprise... The prototype wind turbine is erected! A huge thanks to Ron for this solo effort on the initial stage of engineering.
The next step is for the ballast to arrive to hold the mast upright. For now it is guyed down with ratchet straps. It is a great joy to see the blades turning.

Rising Roots edible flowers are running low for the season but the flower power is living on and plans are in motion to bring you even more next year. The tiger eye viola that stands out is grown by Kirsty.

What you see in this video will yield around 6 kilos of sunflower and pea shoots. Although I use lights for optimum grow cycle you can also use a green house or a window sill. Leave to germinate for around 5 days then put under light. Give it a go!
