We are looking for a special person who will share their home with these 2 beautiful girls whose owners have had no option other than to rehome them due to a very sudden and sad change of circumstances.
Kiki is believed to be Chihuahua x Corgi.
She is 3, loves nothing more than to sit with you and snuggle but also enjoys going for walks and playing with her toys
Poppy is 8, she's believed to be Patterdale x.
She is also very affectionate and loves to play.

They have been living with children. They are very good in the car and have excellent recall.
They don't bother with cats.

They are spayed and up to date with vaccination and flea and worm treatment and have no health issues

They are really easy, lovely girls who are going to make someone very happy.

If you think that you may be the right person to give them a home please get in touch, we are very fond of these girls and would love to see them settled in their forever home

Due to predicted heat for tomorrow, we will no longer be attending the Hatton Duck Race as we have to put the welfare of our animals before all else. Apologies in advance to anybody who had arranged to come and see us. We are hoping to arrange an open day soon. We will make sure to keep you guys posted!

We will be attending Hatton Village Carnival, Derbyshire’s Duck Race on Monday 6th of May with some of our Residents! Make sure to pop down and see us!

South Derbyshire Wildlife and Animal Rescue are our chosen organisation for our Duck race on Monday!!

We will have a trolley by the tent where you can buy the ducks, taking donations for this wonderful organisation.

Here is a list of items they need -

Small animal food

Toys
Blankets
Cardboard boxes
Leads + collars

They will also be attending the duck race with some of their animals, so make sure you come down and say hello 👋

We have recently moved into our new office at SureStore Burton, however due to water damage are lacking furniture.

If anybody has an old desk, chairs, tables, sofa, etc we would be grateful for any donations. We will arrange collection for these as soon as possible.

We are also looking for a local business to make us a small sign, if anybody can reccomend a business that could take this on, please get in touch.

Hey all!

It's been a busy week here at the rescue, we have not stopped!

Stats for this week:

Dog Rescue: 6
Dog Rehome: 2

Wildlife Rescue: 17
Wildlife Rehab completed: 8

Cat Rescue: 2
Cat Rehome: 1

Advice calls: 12

Emergency calls: 3

As it stands, we are receiving a high volume of requests for help. If your case is not urgent, please send an email to [email protected] with as much information as possible. We will get back to you next day between 9AM-5PM 7 days a week.

But as always, if you require our help urgently, please call us on 07538121735. If we miss your call, we may be on a job. Please leave a message and call back in 20 minutes.

The rescue is running low on funds again, and we are starting to dip back into our pockets to cover costs. Every time we take in Wildlife, it costs an average of £16 before any vets fees. If 16 people donated £1, it enables us to help another animal. Long distance or more complex rescues can cost anywhere up to £80 per animal before vets fees.

We are a 24/7 service and rely only on donations. Our costs are higher than ever and the price of animal care and feed is only going up. We are funding out of our own pocket at the moment, but we can only do so much. Anything helps, we also understand that due to the current cost of living crisis not everybody can afford to donate. **APPEAL**

-28 calls for help received, average 4 per day, not including prearranged and/or old cases / contacts.

This is just a small snapshot of our operation, with summer on the way, we will begin to see more wildlife casualties shortly so we are preparing for this.

**FOSTER HOMES NEEDED**

We are in urgent need of temporary / permanent foster homes for cats and dogs. We are overwhelmed at the moment and are struggling for space. If you think you would be able to offer a dog or cat a temporary foster home, or are looking to adopt, please PM the page! We are taking in 2 emergency cases today. We wouldn’t ask if we weren’t desperate!

**WE’RE LOOKING!**

We’re looking to rent some land with the potential to put up some temporary buildings to house our animals due to a lack of capacity. Would preferably have a grass area or field.

If anybody knows of anything, please pop us a PM.

As a Not-For-Profit, we are limited on funding so no massive price tags please.

All maintenance work will be carried out by ourselves.

⭐️⭐️UPDATES⭐️⭐️

We have now reopened to new intakes, we also have invested in new equipment, including a drone!

Our drone is capable of flying up to 400ft, and a mile each way. It is equipped with Infrared & Night Vision technology to aid in Animal Search and Rescue jobs.

We also are now taking on new volunteers! If you are interested, please pop me a PM. All volunteers are home based and can clock themselves available/unavailable whenever they want to, however we expect 5 hours per month minimum (exceptions can be made to this.)

We are looking for Ground staff (for search & rescue,) Call takers (phone provided,) Animal Welfare Officers and Social Media staff.

**NEW INTAKE**

Tonight, we were called by a member of the public to Mayfield to assist with an adult hedgehog that had been caught in vines. Upon arrival, the hedgehog was placed correctly in a safe, warm area to enable us to assess the issue straight away! By client request, he will be named Horace! He has got a few very minor injuries, and is slightly dehydrated, but definitely has no issue with food! We are optimistic for a quick release! Photos to follow, and thank you to the client for the call, you guys are the hero's here!

We’re looking for somebody to foster a new intake for us from tonight/tomorrow for a couple of days whilst we have works done on the pens. Very calm cat. Litter tray, bowls and a box of food will be provided. Cat is in good health.
