Tonight our 4 week trial at Stone cross came to an end. What enormous fun we’ve had! Unfortunately the room was too hot and the mats won’t lie properly or still on carpet so we won’t be returning, but I’m in discussions with them about the big hall. Will report back! Congratulations to all the lovely dogs and handlers whether you came for one week or all four weeks, we’ve had a lot of fun 😀

Congratulations to Kathryn, Lydia and Angela for completing your Intro to Mantrailing this morning- two spaniels and a collie all had a fabulous time ! Looking forward to seeing you again soon (will email you tomorrow!)

A HUGE congratulations to Susanne, Trish and Monika who completed their Trail Hunt Foundations today at the end of a brilliant fun 6 weeks of classes. These teams have worked hard - believe me this is not a certificate for just turning up! Over 6 weeks these teams have learned new exercises , gone home and practiced. We’ve repeated exercises, done extras for fun, visited different venues, built new friendships, overall had a great time!

I’d like you to thank the three of you for being such a fantastic group!

In January we will organise a Foundations Plus course to move on to the next level, but before that we will have some fun/progression sessions . Coming soon - a new intake for a 6 week course, 121’s available on request too. Watch this space!

Graduates of our first Active Search Retrieve course showing off their certificates ! 1066 held a 5 week course working towards dogs being able to sniff out and identify, and then retrieve a scented item. Great progress and great fun. This was a special “reactive dogs” class with one dog coming in to the hall at a time. The four handlers were so efficient and dedicated and we got a lot done. I had planned a follow on course but Dicker Village Hall committee wanted the slot for Youth Club, so I’m working on some other halls before holding more classes. Huge congratulations to these four wonderful teams - names blurred out to protect the innocent! 🙂

Hi everyone! I’m back from my holidays and looking forward to getting back to Mantrailing as well as our upcoming launch of Trail Hunt International. This new sport will suit even more dogs than Mantrailing so watch this space for new foundation classes and workshops to be held on Saturdays starting this autumn!

1066 Mantrailing is now closed for summer holidays! Merlin and I are going on a couple of camping trips and will hopefully have a few adventures. I’ll be back in between for Tuesdays K9 games but there are no more Mantrailing sessions until 21st August. Take care folks and enjoy the summer!
