Hi! We are a couple from the North West of England, with a background in Pharmacy and Computer Science! In December 2022, we adopted a wonderful bundle of joy, called Toffee, an American shorthaired cross breed.
We decided we wanted to keep him in the safety of our home as a house cat. This proved to be easy during the Winter months but as Springtime and Summer approached, we realised that we needed a solution to allow us to open the windows when it gets hot, without risking our curious kitten jumping out, especially from our upstairs windows.
We Googled for solutions to our problems but with ideas such as "adding double-sided sticky tape to the window sills and ledges" being suggested, we felt that it was time for a more permanent fix.
This is where Kitty Grid was created, a hardwearing PVC mesh screen that has been designed to attach onto window frames via Velcro to allow the easy opening and closing of windows with minimal changes to your window aesthetics, allowing you to enjoy the fresh air knowing that your kitty would be safe and sound.
After several attempts at making a prototype and perfecting it, we have now achieved a quality product that has been tried and tested with Toffee and are confident that it will protect other house cats too.
