Pretty little Penny just had her spay so we went to her favorite cafe and had a pavement walk. Normally Penny spends the entire day with me on adventures on Wednesday but she needed her rest this week.

She just adores and so do many other dogs. I think it must be the friendly staff and the amazing smells. 👏

I LOVE this close up of these two who have been besties for at least six months now. Did you know proper socialisation is about your dog actually liking the other dogs they spend time with? They should see other dogs they enjoy seeing three times a week. You can tell they enjoy the other dog by watching the levels of excitement and play when they see those other dogs.

What can your reactive dog do on a walk? Do you worry that your dog isn't getting enough out of their walks or that they are missing out on not being off lead or around other dogs? Please worry no more and get yourself an informed or trained dog walker and take comfort in learning the following about dog walks for reactive dogs;

1. A car trip is as interesting as a walk
2. New locations each week will help your reactive dog by meeting their need for stimulation.
3. Start a walk with good old sniffing this will lower their arousal and meet their predatory motor pattern.
4. Allow them to learn to slow down and observe on walks.
5. Make use of your environment let them climb up wall, sniff bins or go behind shops and blocks of flats to explore.
6. Paddling in puddles is still possible
7. Find big piles of leaves for some sensory stimulation.
8. Mix things up by throwing in some games to build your bond with your dog and distract them from pulling.
9. Slow your pace this helps with reactivity and take little breaks.
10. Take time for cuddling.
11. Hide treats for them or other interesting items high and low to encourage them to engage with their environment

I have many photos of dogs smiling a genuine smile. 💕 Sometimes dogs are smile and they aren't happy. Do you know how to tell if your dog isn't smiling because of happiness or excitement? Check how wide the smile is, whether there is tension in the smile, if it is combined with whale eye and consider the context of the smile. In hot weather a wide grinned dog may be telling you they are thirsty. In normal weather but after running around with other dogs your dog might be smiling because they are over aroused and they need to calm down. A smile could appear with panting when a dog is in pain. Remember to always see behaviour signs in the context of other body language and the context that your dog is in.

Recent reviews are always important to see when selecting a dog carer but so is knowing they are genuine. This is Miso one of the dogs mentioned the other was Roux. I house sat both of these dogs who live towards Ladywell. They are absolutely tiny and the smallest chi I ever did see.

On my first house sit with them i kept them close to home because of their nervousness. It would have been completely inappropriate to take them somewhere they didn't know or even approach areas with dogs when their bonds with me were still forming. We took a short walk and then had games at home.

I made sure to update the owners at each stage of my visit because I knew how much the dogs mean to them and that they could possibly be worried about how they were doing. I update owners on sits three times a visit so they don't worry.

As you can see from the review below everything worked out great with Miso and Roux.

Walks, petsits, pet visits and training in BR1, BR2, BR3, SE20, SE19, SE26, SE21

Calling all dog-walking professionals, always put yourself out there as you! The people who want you to walk their dog are looking for YOU not the version of you you create! My first poster didn't bring me any clients at all because it was BORING. That first poster doesn't represent me in any form because I was missing from it even though I was actually on the poster! This one represents me, it shows the playfulness I have and dog owners want playful people working with their pets and knowledgeable ones.

Did you ever consider how difficult it is to be a calm and confident pet owner? I had a think about this recently and I thought you know it is difficult, particularly in the puppy stage or when you have a reactive dog. It can be difficult and lonely. As your dog is making a behavior change so are you and this can be tough. You may also be adjusting to the dog you have rather than the picture you had in your mind and this too is hard. So I have set up a group for pet owners, specifically dog owners where you will receive support from a group while training your dog and after. Here are some benefits;

1. People who are supported through a behavioral change do better 👏 💪

2. Learning vicariously through others helps you cement your own learning and it builds your confidence.

3. You will have access to my mind I am trained to help humans change their behaviour too.

4. Connection and belonging at a time that can be isolating.

5. A community that can share your joy.

6. Get pointed in the right directions for your dogs life stages, interests and skills.

7. Get first access to and discounts on my webinars and workshops.

8. Benefits from learning how to be a calm, confident and agile dog owner can extend out into other areas of your life.

Imagine who you can be and what the bond will be like with your dog 🐕 with a whole team behind you. Join the journey by sending me a WhatsApp and I can add you to our Facebook group. The first 50 people to join will be able to join for free. 😍

The doodley doo Wednesday crews from and . Lots of dog walkers are negative about doodles but i utterly love them. They are loyal, a bit mad, loving and just the right level of eccentric for me. I think doodle dogs are the best and all they need is the right person to bring out that best in them.
