Pip is literally crying with happiness that she’s been a Golding for TWENTY-ONE YEARS (dog years) today. Her hobbies, as you can see, include posing prettily, carnagecarnagecarnage, barber shop singing with her bestie (aka dawn chorus aka pack howl), and giving very long lectures to anyone who will listen. Thank you, Rehoming Cyprus Pointers, for 3 years of this utter nutter ❤️

It’s my birthday weekend (probably), and to celebrate, I’m getting a new playmate for a week! Alice Pickles! She’s on the 2am flight from Cyprus to Maastricht and we’re collecting her at 8pm tomorrow. Here’s a photo of me just after I arrived almost 3 years ago, looking pensive while wrapped in a blanket and being fed choice cuts of chicken. So I’ve made Alice Pickles a cosy crate and poached her a chicken (to share obvs). I have to bid her farewell next Sunday when she leaves for her forever home, which will be a sad-happy day. ❤️

Thank you, everyone who sent Pip good thoughts. 🙏 They worked!!!
Vet before op: ‘It’s like looking for a needle in a haystack.’ Vet after op: ‘It was a grass seed 1 x 0.5cm between muscular layers. Seems so insubstantial but it’s a very reasonable cause for the swelling. Cleaned it up sufficiently for the lump not to relapse. Very optimistic start.’
And here is photo of said seed, with bits of Pip on it. She’s tottery and sad - 90 mins anaesthetic will do that... But she’s ALIVE and I LOVE her 😍 And now I’m going to Astroturf Hampshire.
PS it was Trina Marshall’s post earlier this year about Laura, who had a terrible time with a grass seed in her torso, that made me follow up Pip’s lump. Seeds in ears and paws are a regular feature of Spaniel’s life, but I’d never heard of them actually getting into the torso, from where they can get into organs. So thank you to Trina! Vx
