Terms and Conditions

Health and Welfare:
• Procedures within the grooming environment can be stressful for some dogs, especially for senior, young, over weight dogs or those with underlying medical concerns.
• The process may expose unknown medical conditions or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. In the best interest of your pet, this agreement will give Furriby K9 Grooming Room permission to seek emergency veterinary treatment if we deem it necessary for whatever reason. We will do our very best to contact you before taking your pet for treatment, however this may not always be feasible.
• Unless Furriby K9 Grooming Room are deemed to be negligent, all medicals expenses are the responsibility of the owner. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you are agreeing to the following disclaimer:

Salon Exclusivity:
• At Furriby k9 Grooming Room we operate strictly by appointment.
• The quoted price is for a 121 grooming slot.
• This ensures a calm, low risk environment between the groomer and your pet.

Time Keeping:
• Furriby K9 Grooming Room operates on an appointment base only. This ensures we are not rushing to complete your dog and doing our best to create a stress free environment.
• The appointment time given is the time we expect to admit you to the salon. If you are early for your appointment, we may not be in a position to grant you immediate access. Likewise, if you are more than 15 minutes late the groom cannot take place, as a rushed groom will be too stressful for the dog.
• A fee equal to the cost of the groom will be incurred, and considered a no show. Equally, a no show or appointments not cancelled 48 hours prior to appointment will also incur full grooming costs.
• We ask that everyone shows the same courtesy afforded to you, to others.

Pricing:
All quoted prices assume:
• The dogs coat is well maintained and free from Knots, matts and tangles.
• The dog is well behaved, shows no aggression and groomed at our recommended periods. The coat is not a combination which is overly thick, drying takes time and will be charged for accordingly.
• The dog is not overweight or oversized for the breed.
• Whilst we are happy to work with nervous/timid dogs, these may incur extra charges due to the extra time and handling skills required.
• Charges will be incurred for matted coats and those that are poorly maintained, this will be charged on a dog by dog basis.
• Dogs with fleas and or ticks. A fee of £15 will be charged on top of the grooming fee – specialist, defleaing shampoo will be used and you are advised to take your dog to the vet to get the appropriate flea treatment. Please remember that if your dog has fleas, I have to decontaminate the salon and equipment before the next appointment.
• All charges are payable before you leave the salon with your pet. Payment can be made by, cash or bank transfer.

Cancellations and No Shows:
Furriby K9 Grooming Room appreciate that sometimes you may need to rearrange your dog’s appointment. As long as this is done with more than 48 hours’ notice there will be no charge. Any failure to not show or cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice (except in extreme circumstances) will result in the full cost of the groom.

Neglected / Matted coats:
• We practice humanity before vanity.
• Should a dog be presented with a matted or neglected coat, if our opinion is that it will be kinder to shave the coat back completely, this will be done in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (Sec 5. – Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering). This incurs extra charges due to time and extra wear and tear on equipment.
• In instances where the above is necessary, it can lead to skin irritation and other conditions. On some breeds the coat may not grow back in the same manner.
• Furriby K9 Grooming Room and its staff, will not be liable for any effects which may arise from this.

Aggressive and Poorly Socialised Dogs:
• Furriby K9 Grooming Room reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog if we believe it may cause injury to itself or any members of staff at the salon.
• If a dog exhibits aggression or behaviour we have not been informed of prior to the groom, the session will be stopped immediately and the full fee incurred.
• We must be informed prior to grooming of any previous history of biting or aggression. Your attention is drawn to the dangerous dog’s act which holds owners liable for bites and Injuries.
• Please toilet and exercise your dog before attending their appointment to avoid any accidents. Any dog that toilets inside the salon will incur an extra fee for their human.
• If your dog toilets on the premises or outside Furriby k9 Grooming Room, be prepared with your p**p bags, CLEAN UP after your pet. Thank you.

General:
Furriby K9 Grooming Room will NOT
• Groom bi***es that are pregnant.
• Groom dogs that are in line with the Dangerous Dogs Act or aggressive dogs.
• Groom very large breeds due to working alone and handling issues. I can recommend other groomers that will work with large/heavy breeds.

Holding Harmless Statement:
By using our services you agree to hold Furriby K9 Grooming Room, its owners/employees harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of the dog, either known or unknown to us. It is also further understood and agreed the terms of the agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will overwrite any and all prior signed contracts and releases. It is further understood this clause applies to any and all dogs groomed.

GDPR Statement:
In order for us to provide the requested services, we are required to obtain and store a limited amount of personal information in relation to you and your dog. Such information will be stored in accordance with all relevant legislation, will never be shared with any 3rd parties or organisations and will only be used for the purposes of providing the requested or related services.
