🐶 £3002.33 raised from our first ever Redmile Dog Show & Village Fete. All proceeds to the St. Peter’s Church restoration fund.

😯 We had 234 entries in our dog show, and nearly 500 people visit us on the day.

🏆 WELL DONE to all our visitors, volunteers, stallholders and good doggies that made this happen.

☀️ We’ve decided to do it all again next year so pop it in your diary: bank holiday Monday 25th August 2025 !

⭐️ Redmile’s first Fun Dog Show & Village Fete! ⭐️

☀️ Come join us this Bank Holiday Monday 26th August and help raise funds for the restoration of St Peter’s Church ⛪️.

📍 @ The Paddock, Peacock Farm, Main Road, Redmile NG13 0GQ.

Entry from 11am. Dog show starts 12pm. Raffle & 100 Club draw at 3pm.

Organised by Nicky Wainwright & Katrina Swatton with the wonderful help and support of many more locals.

🚙 Free car parking available opposite. The event is free entry but please bring cash 💰 (coins preferred) to enter the dog show and spend on the plethora of stalls.

🐶 Whether you’re bringing the dog, kids or coming alone, we have lots to keep the whole family entertained.

🍹 Refreshments and straw bales provided but feel free to bring a picnic 🧺 and camping chair if you prefer.

Have you got the prettiest dog in the Vale? Or perhaps the best sausage catcher? Which dog will catch the judges eye and win our Best in Show hamper of doggie goodies! You’ll have to come along to find out.

We hope to see you there to support this community run event 💕.

.. and just like that, the Buddies team has doubled in size overnight!

Now it’s not just one Katrina caring for your pups but two! Not just Beryl 🚐, but Betty as well, and most importantly, not just Maia, but Bertie too 🐶.

K2 joins us as a full time employee and will be accompanying me on group walks for a couple of weeks in order to meet all current doggie customers and their owners. New customers will then slowly be added into the mix and K2 will be venturing out with her own groups in no time.

Those on the waiting list will be contacted this week to arrange meet and greets and a trial walk, ready for joining the Buddies gang mid-end of October!

Here’s to a bigger and even better Buddies! Let the fun begin 🥳.

🎤 Current customers.. please let me know if you would like to make any changes to your usual walk days or times or if you would like any additional walkies 🐶.

I then plan to contact those on the waiting list in the next couple of weeks to arrange initial consultations and a trial walk.

Anyone interested in walks who’s not yet contacted me / or isn’t on the waiting list.. do drop me a message as we have some availability for group walks starting mid-October 🥳.

Then begins the fun juggle of building new, compatible groups of doggies for K2 to walk. Lots of potential customers on the waiting list so far, from different locations across the Vale, wanting walks on various days and times. My mind may be a little boggled for the next couple of months, but it’s going to be worth it 😍.

We recently lost a much loved member of the Buddies gang, who I know was adored by so many of you 💔.

Meg (aka Meggy Bear 🐻) sadly passed away after struggling with bone cancer for a short while.

She was taken from this world far too soon and has left a big hole in the hearts of everyone who knew her 😢.

Meg’s best friend and little brother, Kubo is a bit lost without her so he’s joining us on an extra walk each week (and might be getting extra treat and cuddle rations too 👀).

I’ll miss Meggy so much, from her howling when I’d arrive to pick her up for walkies, her snoring so loud I’d have to turn the tv up, her wonderful big bear hugs, her endless love for a puddle.. and I’ll even miss standing around in freezing temperatures because Meg needed lie down on her walk even though it was snowing 😆.

Meg really was the greatest companion, both for Kubo and her humans, and it’s been the greatest pleasure to have known her and make lots of wonderful memories together over the past few years ♥️.
